And another reason I like the FXT, It doesn't look too much of a SUV in which I love the low slung profile (which its more wagon looking) than the tall tipsy SUV look.

I have no idea how you came up with these. Maybe your thinking the Elise is Underrated because you live in In Malaysia. (maybe that's how you came up with all your picks?) But anyone who does know about the Elise respects it as being one of the best little 2 seaters ever.

911??? are you kidding?! i'm so sick of those cars! who doesn't want a 911? first of all their styling hasn't changed in what, like 20+ years! blah! everyone knows Porsches are awesome.

well, the VW just came out, so i don't think it's been on the market long enough to say it's underrated.

The Lexus......i don't know, don't follow them much. But i love the IS300's and SC430's !!!! :drool:


as far as my pick would go, well, from what i'm hearing and reading, apparently the VUE is the most under rated car (haven't done any research on my own). But no wonder! ITS DAMN UGLY! when it comes to cars, looks do matter. You could give me a Suzuki X90 that performed like a corvette and i wouldn't drive it!

I'll say the Toyota MR-S (MR-2) is the most under rated car.
 
How about the Mk 1-2 rx 7's?

They are hella car for your money if you like to drive. Or do doughnuts :)

Klos only said that because he knows I think the Mustang Cobra is great. In fact, I consider it to be the best car on sale right now (the Saturn Vue V6 is the best new for 2004 car; the Cobra came out a few years ago). Horsepower is simply unrivaled for the price - many used cars don't even come close to its price/power ratio.

True I agree the Ford Mustang Cobra is a great car. Its very fast. The supercharger whine like hell, anyways What do you think of the Evo/ STi M5Power?
 
I wouldn't consider the Mustang underrated. I mean, the concept is simple. Horsepower for an affordable price- for those who actually give a damn about HP. It's certainly a mean sucker. No wonder it's a great track (drag strip) car.

So let me ask. With all the respect its getting, do you think the Neon SRT-4 a little underrated? I mean, considering its horsepower and performance (I know it's not the best from an unknown source), but what do you think about Dodge's little baby?
 
I'd say the SRT-4 rated evenly or maybe a bit overrated. Nobody ever mentions the Mustang Cobra. It has to be underrated.
 
I don't think the SRT-4 is under rated. So far, I've only seen one person at ClubWRX think he could beat one. Then again, the drivers over rate thier cars. One of them decided to mess with one of the faster WRX owners, and learned how fast a pretty decently moddified WRX is.

Everyone knows that the Mustang Cobra's are killers! Those Cobra's are fast! I seen a stock Cobra running 12.6s. The supercharger whines like hell! I dont think it is overrated at all! Its fast and look fast. For the base price, $35,485, its the best bang for its buck. The only other car that I think is also a great bang for its buck are the Subaru WRX STi and the Mitsubishi Evolution RS.

SRT-4 is not underrated at all! I agree with Klos, that it is probably a bit overrated!

It´s a shame I live in a country like Brazil, where we have modern cars, but only it´s cheapest versions. I´ve always dreamed of cars like the Golf R32 or the Focus RS... but our manufacturers say they will not have enough sales volumes to make them profitable.

Ok, this one is quite underrated in Brazil (and in Europe too). This is the Ford Ka. The brazilian version suffered a little face-lift in 2001, that boosted up it´s sales. But the real underdog is a version available here called the XR. It uses the very successful XR badge of past Fords and lives up to it. Thanks to it´s low weight and it´s 100hp Zetec RoCam engine (renamed Duratec in the EU), this "pocket rocket" is capable of 0-60mph in the 9 seconds range and speeds over 120mph with its speed limiter disabled. It´s delicious to drive (almost like a kart on tight bends), economical and extremely fun. Its engine-transmisson-suspension ensemble is very well-balanced, the 5-speed tranny is light and extremely precise and its hydraulic clutch is very light, meaning effortless operation.

This is one car every enthusiast should try...

The Tiburon is terriable. They are heavy and bulky. Plus it does not need a v6 an I4 would suit it just fine. Every test I've read on the car says the same thing. Hell I'd take a Civic over it.

I agree, they arent the best bang for your buck. For the price of the Tiburon, the Neon SRT-4 would be a much better bang for your buck. But if you want to have an all around good car, I would recommend the Acura RSX Type S. It offers plenty of thrills for the money with impressive acceleration and great handling. :)
 
Before the police took it under their wing, I've always thought that the UK Vauxhall Omega 2.5l was pretty underrated. My dad owned one before he got a 5 series and it was a pretty amazing car, yet i've never heard many people saying good things about it.
 
The Golf GTi is a VR6 isn't it? I would personally love to get my hands on R32, what a damn nice car that is.

The best cars in this class are the Mini Cooper S, Focus SVT 3-door, (though that's been cancelled for 2005 - so hurry!), and Volkswagen Golf GTI 1.8T. Coupe-like performance with hatchback usability. I'm with BlazinXtreme regarding the Tiburon - it's a nice idea, but I don't like the GT (V6) and I hate the four-cylinder.

I know you use ConsumerGuide as your main source, but as pure performance and best bang for your buck goes, I dont think the Mini Cooper S or the Focus SVT will cut it. They are quite quick but nowhere as quick as the Dodge Neon SRT-4. ConsumerGuide is a great site, no doubt, but arent it mostly opinions? It maybe a best buy for him/her but might be different for someone else. Alot of useful infomation though.

Also I went and looked at ConsumerGuide site, and searched the Subaru Forester XT I couldnt find the time of 6.7... where did you get that time from. I looked under the acceleration and it didnt say anything like that. On some car, it would list the time, but on some other it dont give you times, where did you get that time from?
 
I'd say the old Buick Grand Nationals were underrated. Sure, most car guys know about them NOW, but they wern't "main stream" enough for the general public to be aware of them. I'd wager they would still surprise many a younger generation driver if they met one on the street today. Even the old Mustang SVO's could take people by surprise with their turbo 4cyls.
