Worst racing game EVER!

Maybe it’s after Christmas and a lot of new and young people are playing ? We need more people to stay , and learn to get better . How can we help do that ?
 
It's a minefield out there. I went from A S to B C in a few days. A S can be a nightmare too. Now because I was a fast driver in B C I started from pole and won a lot but had to deal with some extremely awesome idiots up front...

2 Megans ramming each other off track which gave me the win, lapped drivers getting in the way intentionally, and some idiots going the wrong way around the track.

And the penalty system doesn't work. Getting penalties for being rammed!

How did they get this game so wrong and for so long now.

I cannot believe the dirty driving that goes on in “Sport” racing! I have a B rating and cannot get 1 race in bc everyone is SO DIRTY! This is not Grand Theft Auto!! Why do I get penalized when someone runs into me?!! Polyphony Digital should really look into a system like iRacing! I am NEVER going to race GT Sport again!

I feel your pain! I started today with an S rating, and wanted to get to a high S rating. Ended up B rating whilst trying to drive clean. Morons kept driving in to me. They really need to make their algorithms better.
 
I have nothing but clean races at SR/S. But I also only race the longer races. Tried the 3-4 lap races a couple times, and people are in way too big of a hurry to push everyone out of the way. So I just avoid the shorter races.

I'm on my ipad now instead of racing any more sport today, I've had a red SR finish in my viper at interlagos surrounded by M4 and Meganes. It's uncanny that it's a DODGE viper, I've been trying to dodge the accidents while still maintaining my DR:A (close to dropping back to DR:B)

I've had lots of good races in the open lobbies.

I've learnt to avoid interlagos .... expecially with gr4 cars/race... (i dropped From S to B in three unlucky races... )

Now I'm S again ... but far from Interlagos, I compare that track to the little ovals...

I have avoided the online racing during the holidays as more carnage as a result of the above would be considered normal. Online should return more back to a normal level next week as the holiday period ends, kids go back to class and fewer intoxicated adults as they have returned to work online racing.

Granted there will always be time periods where the racing will be cleaner than others and it is up to you to determine those times for your region and schedule. Believe it or not there really can be some really clean races in GTS sport. I second the longer races are the best bet for better chance of a clean racing experience.

I feel if you are already in SRS you are kind of immune from these spikes. I have been racing online through the Xmas period and I have not really noticed anything significantly different. Some very clean races and sometimes the odd jerk driver that makes you wonder how he got there. Just another challenge in my view.

Now I am sure SRB was a jungle this weekend though.
 
Dragontrail is a mess today. Just from passing ghosted crashes I've gone down to 91/99 SR. Every race yellow flags and half the time a 5 sec penalty for passing the ghosted car resetting on the track. Once I got a 10 sec penalty when the car in front lost control and over steered to get back on the track, no way to avoid. I was full on the brakes, still touched him on the way to the opposite wall, instant red rating. I haven't been below 98/99 in a long time. Now the game crashed on start, luckily no deductions for crashing out at the start.

Longer races are usually better for preserving SR from these faulty penalties, yet today it's Interlagos. Nothing but bad experiences on that track. It's called a chicane, not a straight!

Edit: I spoke too soon, SR now 86/99. It did deduct another 5 points for the game crashing. This is hilarious. 5% DR drop as well.

The reason being is that the majority of men aren't as good at driving as what they think they are.

I am still not convinced people are separating malicious incidents with people simply still learning the game making mistakes.

I have only come across a few malicious instances the entire time.

For a console game its a lot cleaner than i ever imagined it would be.

Two types of drivers in GTSport:

SR "S" Driver - Gets hit by other driver, incurs penalty: "Dammit that wasn't my fault.. arghhh!" ... "Well, I better keep it extra clean this race to preserve my rating."

SR "A-D" Driver - Gets hit by other driver, incurs penalty: "THAT WASN"T MY FAULT!!! I AM GONNA RUN HIM OFF THE TRACK IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!!!" Creates post on gtplanet about how they will never play the game again and wishes Polyphony goes bankrupt. Blames other posters when they try and point out fallacy in the logic.

Penalties for the bad "arse' drivers must be improved - drive through PIT lane every time you're doing an unclean/bad manoeuvre is one suggestion and at the end of the race a RED S of course.
 
Thought this was a actual thread for the worst racer ever. Any road mines probably test drive unlimited 2

Lol that will be the Portuguese guy doing the pit lane glitch.

I don't have a worst racing game ever, as I've gotten some enjoyment out of all my racing games over the years, I did buy test drive unlimited for my PC back in the day and it wouldn't run because my PC couldn't handle it, so I guess that was my worst racer purchase.

I don't think you've learned about enough games to say that, cause I can think of 10 other racing games that infinitly worse.

I also like how you assume that the people in this thread are apparently millennials. If you've been on this site for more than 3 months you'd know that most of the people on this site are well over 30 years old.

You also claim that everyone was getting offended and triggered by your opinion, even though looking at the replys your post, no one was. There wasn't a single person that was offended, let alone triggered. If anything, you're the only one whose been triggered in this whole thread.
 
With the exception of one individual who took pleasure by constantly shunting me all of my races have been very competitive clean and fair, i still have my s rating so all good here i just need to get my DR up that`s all.

Just from observation, I think the more aware everyone becomes of their own ability relative to their familiar competition, the more respectful and patient they become too.
 
I was just doing the daily race for the league (I believe its round 7).
Got pole position on qualification. Managed to stay in front of the bunch on the long starting straight, but while I was breaking for the first corner I got rammed stupidly hard and that sent me into the wall, making my SR rating go down. Furthermore, my car was damaged by the big shunt they gave me, causing a handful of cars just to pass me on a straight section while my car was still broken. 1 ram brought me from 1st to 8th.
Ended up finishing 3rd in the race in the end after 10 laps, while being bumped into a corner once more and being obstructed by a car that had half the speed of mine.

Where is this game that gets all the algorithms right that everyone keeps holding GT Sport up to as a bad example?

And what is it that it does so much better than GT Sport?

Does it exist or are people just creating a false utopia in their heads and deciding that's where the barometer is and to hell with what is actually acheivable with gaming technology today?

IRacing does not apportion blame either - if someone rams you you both get penalised.
