The General Opinion in the Q&A sub-forum was that it wouldn't bother them.

Just wondering what the TT & DT'ers would think if the leaderboard had a few hackers posting times.

I think there is a high likelihood there will be hackers appearing soon,
as the whole PS3 savegame system has been compromised & hybriding/editing cars for online use is possible at the moment. This will last until PD patch the exploit.

Yes, it wouldn't bother me in online racing, would bother me in a leaderboard situation.

I'm sure there is a a fix on the way before the process is fine tuned to the point it allows these cars to be worthy of being called cheat cars. In the meantime, have you actually driven the Civic? The thing is a joke on anything but probably a mile long drag race, and I know that is not your thing. I don't think these cars are a threat of any kind to most serious racers. Maybe it will drive more interest in SPEC racing 💡 That's were it's at anyway.

Regardless, I actually do hope there will be a fix to prevent these cars or future improved versions from entering TTs and online races.

I choose not to further my comment other then saying:
"No, they would not bother me as I really never do the TT's and would not care to give a sliver of a ****"
👍

If that ever happened, that would be the end of GT5 for me. Its that simple.

Do not care if they are in the open lobby's. But, I do care if they can manipulate the board or car(s) to achieve a serious alian ET.

If they can already create an insane Hybrid, it does not mean a lessor one could not be created to pass into a time trial.

there are too many great sims to bother - gt5 is the greatest of course, but if cheaters are a factor it would completely ruin any online gameplay for me.
It would be like racing in an F1 championship where every team principal is Flavio Briatore. Just because Flavio is on every team doesnt mean every driver would be cheating, but that thought will always be on the back of your head. Not worth it.

Would be nice if they could Admiral Akbar the Time trials to root out the cheats.

Most people want it to be fair for all... Look at those top times and think they are drivers with acid for blood and alien skills.

You don't want to think they just cheat. Shame that some people will stoop to such low behavior.

This is a blatant attempt at duplicating a thread already closed by a moderator. Do you think that's a good idea?

Besides, you already have the overall opinion in the OP, FROM the Closed thread. So, why even bother asking the question again?

I wouldn't personally care, but I can absolutely understand why people would and would sympathize with them.

I understand that this is pretty much the same question, but this thread is about hackers in the Time Trials and Drift Trials. That thread was about racing online.

Well it's been happening for a long time.:indiff: When PD catches it they try to patch it but it's not unheard of.👍

Not sure how the current hybrids are cheating anything at the moment. The cars are useless in anything meaningful.

I voted yes it would bother me but I could easily have voted no too because PD have been pretty good at erasing the marks established by obvious hacks or cheats up to this point. As long as they continue to stay on top of the policing and keep the boards clean by the end of the TT duration then well I'm actually amused by some of the hijinx.

As long as they're long gone by the end of the TT I"ll watch their silly attempts at fame!

Well, if you have a problem with it, report the thread then instead of going off on another one of your little tangents,

Who and where did you read that was closed by moderators? If a mod closed it wouldn't they say why?

Not always. Ive seen a few threads closed. The members were never premium and no reason.

Nah don't bother me it's so easy to PD remove those from list and after that bann from PD servers, so anytime it happens it's only one GT5 gamer less :)

This was happening in the karting TT in december 2011, I was extremely annoyed as a potential win was taken away from me as 5 people at the top of the leader board had posted impossible times. I still finished 7th but I felt unfairly cheated by this and also annoyed that PD didn't look at it and disqualify them.

I was pretty annoyed too,
The top2.... were blatant cheats & never removed.

It would bother me if hackers had entries in the leader-boards but not so much that it would stop me from participating. As others have said, if people cheat then they are only kidding themselves and at the risk of being bombarded with hate mail....it's just a game :)

If I did tts then I would quit

When I use to do them on prologue it was to gain the feeling of seeing your name in the top 5. If you see hackers in the top its just no insentive to push and improve.

It was obvious that 5 people ahead of me bar the japanese guy were cheating, if you watch the replay they didn't use the full track and went round the corners on rails, where as if you watch my replay you would see an almost perfect lap. Anyone faster than a 32.2 was blatant cheating as it was impossible on that track and in the 100cc kart.

It wouldn't bother me too much, but I would hope that a similar consequence to the tt at laguna seca in the suzuki concept - where it started catching on to use the pitlane exit to gain around a second a lap - when pd caught on they closed it.

I would hope something similar would be done, until they could resolve the issue, as it stops the average drivers being able to watch a legitimate fast lap from the top guys, and also means the top drivers would be less willing to push themselves. All in all I think it would leave a fair amount of drivers spending less time on events.

I didn't know that this was even possible til this thread was started tho...guess it makes sense, but didn't know it was already happening.

Don't forget that other American that got 6th 👎

So there are people posting times that have hacked the physics of the game so that you can go faster? Is that what you guys are saying? I had no idea that someone would have that much free time on their hands.

Huh, just trying to understand really???

Yeah like I pointed out already and now others confirmed.. Cheating in TT's is nothing new, it's happened long before "hybrid" cars. All this hybrid this and that is poppycock.:dunce:

Don't do the TT's if you like.. But cheating ain't news.:yuck:

I really can't understand why the mods closed my other thread that was really the same subject. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8119914#post8119914 I asked a question through the report tool as to why my thread was closed and I have yet to receive a response. It was a good discussion other than two people bickering a little at each other. I still think it was a valid thread and wonder why this one hasn't been closed yet since it is the same thing.

Since I have heard nothing back from the mods, I can only add recless speculation that around GTP, we just don't want people discussing things that could potentially destroy the online portion of the game. If we don't talk about it, then maybe it will go away. I mean if we all stop using the online racing and TT part of the game because of a situation where it is now easy to cheat, many (or most) of us will get bored with the game and stop using it until GT6 comes about. And, fewer people playing would mean fewer people providing traffic to this site which would mean fewer advertisers interested in it and less business for Jordan. So if we don't talk about Hybriding and the negative impact that it could have on the game, maybe the problem will just go away?

Oh, and to the OP, sorry... I may have just gotten your thread closed. :nervous:
