It had "standard" cars (premiums from Current GT5) and GT6 had a development cycle similar to that of GT5, were by it was released at the latter end of the PLAYSTATION 4's life cycle next generation, and upon it's release, the standard cars looked incredibly dated?

Also, if you could deal with that, would you still get it if it turned out to be rough around the edges like GT5 before it's updates? Sound off below!

IMO, while I love GT5, this game was the lowlight of the series to me. If GT6 came out with the problems listed above, I'd consider not buying it to be honest!

You're opinions? :)

I would buy it after a few months when it had got a bit cheaper and patches had killed off a few bad things.

Well, I would assume that GT6 is currently under development so I would hope that PD wouldn't have to remodel every vehicle. I would think that GT6 would only have premium cars but only time will tell.

Regardless of what's in it, I'll buy it.

I think personally I'm going to buy GT6 whatever, and looking at the updates and DLC for GT5 I'll know the game will have a bright future however bleak it is at the start.

I have fewer complaints than most and I won't kid myself, GT6 will be a day one for me :)

I didnt purchase GT5 because of the "standard" cars. (Eventually I received it as a christmas present from my mother in law)
If they even mention the word "standard" in GT6 I will not buy it. That word should have never been created and should never be used in a racing game ever again.
I dont hate GT5. In fact I play the B spec mode every chance I get. But there simply is no way I will purchase another GT game until they remove the word "standard" from their vocabulary. The standard cars are just way too limited and generic. Even though the standards are getting better with each update. I do give PD credit for that. But still they are not equal to the premiums. ALL the cars need to be finished equally. I dont think it will happen on the PS3 but it will happen for sure on the PS4. When GT5 released a year ago it was by far THE largest let down as a GT fan. In fact almost one of THE largest disappointments in my gaming history. Especially after being in development for 5-6 years. Lets just hope its a learning lesson for PD and they will do much better with GT6.

No. I would not.

As much as I love GT games, GT5 is a let down and a step backwards. (IMO)

Edit: Yes of course I will buy it. But please no more standards.

GT6 is one of the games that is a must buy on day 1. It's the people, not the game, I don't play GT5 for the graphics, I play because of the tight controls and the fun I have with friends.

Day one buy for me as well, I absolutely love this series. I would appreciate if all cars were premium, but if GT6 standards were what we have now, I wouldn't complain since the premiums now are already about as good as I ever imagined.

I just want a rock solid framerate (no tearing), have 20+ opponents on the track, more sophisticated AI, better track graphics, fix shadows and smoke pixelation, and please give us the option to customize our cars a little bit more. Oh a better selection of wheels couldn't hurt either.:sly:

Hopefully GT6 won't be such a "work in progress" game GT5 was. Of course with as much of a perfectionist Kaz is with the series, we may get more patches lol.

When GT6 will be released in 2014? PS4? On a PS4 Standard cars will be a joke.
They better release GT6 with 400 premium cars and add the rest as a DLC.

GT6 is my day one buy aswell. :) I adore this series like crazy. I'll even want to try out the features they'll have in it too. I have a big feeling that the GT Classic tracks maybe in it I hope. :D The standard cars, to be honest I'm not to sure...

I agree with matty.

The only NEGATIVES to GT5 in my opinion are the lack of campaign mode, user friendliness and split screen.

My biggest dream for GT6 is that it contains all of the current model standards. I don't have/never had a forza, but supposedly they did something like GT5, except that all the standards didn't come right into the game as they did in GT5. They were on a different disc, and could be downloaded and brought into the game.

I completely understand other's point of view, but even by the slim chance GT6 goes PS4 (which I pray it does not), it should still include everything we loved from 5. Then again, I suppose we (my friends and I) have always been disappointed when PD decides to remove something from the game to the next.

Extra talking that is basically everything I already said: The VW Nardo is possibly the best vehicle ever, to me. I personally feel it was the beginning of the sports re-invention by VW to create the V8 (and later 10) R8, and the Veyron. I feel that vehicle as an exercise in engineering became a stepping sting that launched a spectacular engineering accomplishment, and the Audi R8. I would rather have that over most of the entire premium dealerships.

But what's to say it's importance to me means more than someone else's love of one of the 1990's MXs. And as many younger lads I know, their first GT was 4 or 5, and they don't use standards. So let those people JUST use premiums, and the people who want 'old school' vehicles can still have the option. With 60gb for a blu ray, and PS3's having ridiculous hardware space (compared to xbox)*, why not let us download it and use it?

Nothing cracks me up more when my friends come over and grab a lamb or ferrari, and my civic race car smashes them. (Particularly Autumn Ring short)

*All the PS3's (60, 160, 320) I've had have had at least 15 times my wife's xbox 360. 4gb before shrinkage and OS is garbage, in my opinion.

If they release GT6 on PS3 next year I won't care about std. cars. The important is they improve the game, adding more A-spec events, more RM cars, more tracks, a championship editor, a livery editor and better online, better time trial events (i.e. no more 390 gt1 road car time trials again and again).

I expect this features at least on the PS4, so although std. cars on PS4 will be a serious joke, they won't be a game killer for me. The lack of these features will.

I really do hope I don't see standard cars ever again. I hope GT6 release next year though. :) PD needs to grab only fast models in japan so their won't have to be identicals cars again, only one model for each car. 👍 Such as the Nissan Skyline R31 GTS-R, R32, R33, R34, R35-GT-R Spec-V/SpecV versions.

I dont think we will be seeing GT6 any year soon. I expect a robust run out of dlc to enhance what we have already got. If i was a betting man i would put the lot on GT6 being PS4 Launch Killer Game some time late 2014

Honestly don´t know...

If the lack of many options and car brands continue, probably not. :(

Chat you soon. :)

If it includes standards it will be a disappointment. I would buy it for sure as long as it includes more everyday sports cars old and new instead of all the econobox and multiples of the same cars.

I really have no issue with the standard cars for a couple of reasons.

First, most of them don't really look all that bad. Admittedly, I play in 720p so maybe I'm missing some clarity of detail (I doubt that with the size and quality of my television, though.)

Second, if anyone asked me at any time whether I would rather have 200+ beautiful cars or 200 beautiful cars and 800 dated cars, I would definitely pick the latter. That's like asking someone if they would like a steak or, for the same price, a steak and a potato. The complaint/opinion that PD should have taken the time to update all of the cars to premium is ludicrous. Like has been stated a few hundred thousand times on this forum, there is no way that PD could have had GT5 out when they did if they had to make a bunch more premium vehicles.

The only valid complaint that I see is the fact that the game truly was not finished when it was released (again, PD was surely pressured by Sony, et. al. to release the game for the 2010 holiday season, leading to this happening). Anyway, the number of things that just were not done when the game was released seems a tad silly, now. But the fact that PD has been updating and staying on top of it for well over a year, now, shows just how committed they are to their product, and our experience is only that we're benefitting from it. The game is constantly expanding, whether you buy DLC or not, and, overall, getting better.

I've ranted long enough for now. I'll just summarize by saying that the constant whining and complaining regarding this game on a website committed to the game is both staggering and maddening. . . not that the OP was actually complaining, at all. . . don't misunderstand me, there.

Now I'm rambling.

Anyway. Yes. Preorder for day one delivery for me.

...and will be until/unless they completely ruin themselves as Squenix has with Final Fantasy. sigh...

I'll get it day 1 for sure. GT5 has been well-supported with frequent updates extending well over a year from release. My only gripe was that it took so long to get the Logitech G25/27 supported.

Compare that to my other most-frequently played game on PS3: NHL 12 ... 2 Updates, no plans for anymore updates, game is still broken ... Go EA!

Day one buy for me, just like GT5 and GT4. I don't care that much about standard cars, i play cockpit view(would really like interior though).

Then again the standard cars has rare cars in it anyways, so I guess they're fine since theres lots I like from them. Hope those rare LM, Rally, and Race cars are in GT6 as premiums, and hope to see others from the old GTs come back. :D

I enjoy the Standard cars myself... though they are not as crisp as the Premiums, what I like about them is the "difficulty" of getting them. They make interesting collector items. I would like if they kept some cars being more "rare" than others. It makes a neat way to play the game when your not in the mood for racing (what if I had too many beers and cant keep the car on the track) it allows me to still play by trading and managing collections.

What bothers be is when they dont allow the garage/progress importing from the previous version. Back in GT1 they did this. You carried all licenses (though they added a new one) into GT2 from your previous game and if I remember you kept the cars too.

GT2 to 3 due to the change in platform you had to start over. I forgot about GT3 - 4 but I think just the licenses carried (maybe nothing).... Then I got GT5 Prologue because it was sold to gather cars while waiting for the game release making it seem like you could transfer that garage to GT5.... and of course you couldnt...

The level based system is kinda junk though in GT5... and the PP system is rather weak... but I guess it gives rough guesses on where you are and what your racing. Oh, and miss the "Levels" being what license you held. Thats one of my biggest disappointments... it was the lack of thought of the "story" mode of the game. I also miss the traveling race system like GT4...

All this stuff was there so this rant isnt a "wishlist" response... just things I miss that I hope they will bring into GT6 when its released. Otherwise I love the game!!

And on the "wishlist" note, I have been waiting for each new version for them to add AI to multiplayer mode. That touch would even be bank on Online Races so your not just racing 3 people. I guess thats a bit harder to do but even if the AI was slower like the other races than we are it still would make it more fun to race to that first corner instead of the pileups that often happen with just human players.

As far as will I get it. Absolutely.... the second I can get to GameStop (the major US videogame store in at least my region). I got GT5 day 1 and the same will be for 6 (unless I have to get a new system - the PS4, then it will be dependent if I have the system or the money for the system... if it releases with the system I would be game!!!)

I bought all 5, and still can't drop a legitimate complaint yet. Why would I not buy 6?
Of course things could be better, but that is true for anything. I could earn more money, I could have more days off, the government could not be so self-involved....oh sorry.
Of course GT6 will be a day-one buy. As long as PD is making, I am spending.

I bought a PS3 to get GT5 - and I've yet to try out all my cars yet.
GT6 will be bought in the first week... depending on the hardware.

Std vs Premium - I play on a Cathode Ray Tube TV - so feels pretty much like GT4 did only more polish.

Standards wouldn't bother me so much if they didn't have so many copies of the same car. We don't need every version from every year of miatas or gtrs. Just give us one or even 2 of each, maybe a base model and a top of the line model and leave it at that. I know its impressive that the game has over a 1000 cars but it really doesn't. Get rid of the duplicates and I will buy gt6, no problem.

Well, I would assume that GT6 is currently under development so I would hope that PD wouldn't have to remodel every vehicle. I would think that GT6 would only have premium cars but only time will tell.

Regardless of what's in it, I'll buy it.

I'm with him.
I would be pre-ordered and I would take that day off from work to race the heck out of it.
