Basically, I wouldn't mind PD adding one, be it similar to the one in GTPSP. I've gotten so used to it that I'm faster around the track with it:dopey:

I voted "yes". Sure. Why the hell not? :) But if PD is planning on slowing upping some Standards to Premiums I'd rather see this happen over the long run.

I only drive with cockpit view, so there are only 200+ cars for me in GT5, if they implemented somekind of cockpit view for the standard cars I'd probably start driving them.

👍

^ Yeah, it's the only thing holding me back from driving them more often:( Hood Roof cam seems so odd for me now:odd:

I voted yes only because there wasn't a "don't care either way" option. They both drive the same, so I have fun with all of the cars.

I would rather see the wheel option come first.

if they are thinking of cockpit they should get the REAL cockpit not blacked out room or something and idont know about

Cockpit cam drivers (although I'm not one) shouldn't be FORCED to drive another view just because PD can't be bothered to add a feature they dropped from GT5P...

I would like it if the standard cars came with a camera on the dashboard. (a "generic" view not showing the instrument panels because the camera is in front of the steering wheel) Isn't that what they do on TV?

Most of the cameras on TV that are on the car but not in the car are located on the roof.
At least this seems to be the case for the races I watch.

I would not mind, so I voted yes:) It's better than nothing, and if you don't like it, then don't use it.

I wouldn't mind it, as I probably won't be using it. Won't hurt having it though.

I miss your potato option by the way.

I don't use the interior view anymore, because I have gotten used to the bumper view, and I find it too much transition to go from view to view when I change cars. In prologue I only ever used the inside view. In some ways I think prologue is superiour, better view and dealership events.

No, do it properly or not at all.

This, apart from the fact a blackscreen lay-out may look acceptable on a small PSP screen but will just look hideous on a large (or normal size) HD screen, the interior of a car is just as specific to that car as the exterior.
I'd rather they spend the time creating a few more fully detailed Premium versions of cars already included as Standard than adding a mediocre generic blackscreen (which actually isn't as easy as it sounds) to 800 cars.
They've actually worked on it before release remember? After the criticism when it became clear Standard cars didn't have an interior they tried to create something similar to the PSP-style cockpit but gave up as it didn't work out according to their standards (pun intended...).
Standard cars are what they are, accept them or when you're like me (addicted to cockpit view) rarely use them, at least don't think they'll be further improved as that's time wasted (both for PD and those wishing they will be improved).

I'd much rather have a hood cam than some blacked out pseudo interior.

The GT PSP one isn't good enough, so I voted no.

These are all varying degrees of ignorant. There's no way Polyphony is going to bother modeling 810 new cockpits for the Standard cars. It just isn't going to happen, so there's no point in the "do it right or not at all" philosophy. Besides, if we wanted to cling to that sort of line of thinking, the Standard cars wouldn't be in the game at all because PD didn't do that right; rather, they gave us a bunch of last-gen car models lacking something that's standard in all major console racers of today (cockpit).

There's no point in opposing this. If you don't like cockpits, you don't have to use them, but there are players that do use them. They shouldn't be denied something just because you personally don't care for it. A crude, even just solid black, cockpit is still at least something, and about all we can realistically expect at this point. At least a camera sitting inside a plain black cockpit would still be a camera where a good number of players want it, and this would take a minimum of effort on PD's part.

I would not use it

What's that matter? Having them is still an improvement over not having them, whether you personally would use it or not.

Hey, I don't care for NASCAR, so let's just rip all that crap out of the game. I don't have any respect for the Veyron, so let's delete that from the game, too. If we don't like something, it shouldn't be there, right?

Yup, I'd like a generic cockpit. A decent bonnet view would also be good. One with the camera a bit inside the car, that can convince you that you just don't notice the A pillars, dashboard and roof.

Anything would be better than the "disembodied" view now forced upon those of us who prefer to sit inside a car when we drive it :p

I drive premium cars in cockpit view, but still prefer '1st person' view instead of a boring al-cars-the-same dashboard.

My answer was "I'd rather have a hood cam instead of a black out interior". How is that ignorant at all? I didn't ask PD to model 810 interiors, I asked for them to put in a hood cam. I use the cockpit in the premium cars, and I'd love a cockpit for the rest of them but it's simply not going to happen. Even on my tiny TV a large swathe of textureless black with dials on it is going to look terrible. A hood cam would give players the same view without improperly positions A-Pillars, etc.

It certainly is worth opposing. PD has a finite amount of time and labor to put towards the game. This idea would require x amount of time. That leaves less time to put towards things other people would rather have and get more use out of. I'm sure people could come up with a huge list of things they want added to the game that wouldn't impact any one elses game time but they'd still get shot down.

I would love to have even the PSP black cockpit...

Better than nothing... smooth the black cockpit edges with some kind of smooth blurry effect and you'll get a nicer result. Similar to shift.
