Here, I'd really like to know your opinion about these hot sedans:

Toyota Mark II Tourer V (JZX90)
1JZ-GTE (2.5L twin turbo), FR

vs

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III
4G63 (2.0L turbo), 4WD
y_39660477.jpg

Consider both cars RHD. Both cost almost the same (~$10-13 in my area), but Tourers are usually a bit cheaper.
Evo III is much rarer (and harder to maintain, I suppose), at least in my country, which has a very big Mark/Chaser community. And it's almost impossible to find a non-tuned Lan-Evo III. But I just like it, this is the one of my favourite Evos (second to IV).
However, when it comes to drifting, Tourer has the upper hand for sure.

What would you go with?

-> ...
Veteran vs. Young Gun

Brand new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR

OR

Used but VGC Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition
^ I'll pick the T-Mak all day over the X. I've driven the X (GSR), it's not as fun as what many people think. I would call it as far as calling the X boring!

2005 Hyundai Tiburon. (174hp)

OR

2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (175hp)
^ I've driven both, also you've shown their best guises in their gen (good job!). The Coupe/Tiburon/Tuscani V6 is very torquey, very practical, and very practical (because, hatch). The NA-only SE-R Spec-V is very tossable at limit, better gas-mileage, and seats more confortably overall. But the drawbacks on the V6 are: (very) front-heavy, tiny windows, & malaise era power figures. While the Spec-V on the other hand are, less than inspiring interior, for a sedan it's very tight inside, & artificial-feeling shifter. So out the two, I'd pick neither. Why? Both cars didn't made me smile as I drove them. :indiff:

2014 Honda Civic Coupe EX (140 horsepower, 128 lb-ft of torque, 5-Speed manual, 2771 lbs)

2014 Hynudai Elantra Coupe SE (148 horsepower, 131 lb-ft of torque, 6-Speed manual, 2687 lbs)

^ As much I really proudly despise th 9th-gen Civic, the Civic might be more fun to drive than the Elantra. But, money-for-money the Elantra wins easy. And guess what!? I pick neither! :grumpy:

2014 Scion tC (179 horsepower, 172 lb-ft of torque, 6-Speed manual, 3082 lbs)

2013 Kia Forte Koup SX (173 horsepower, 168 lb-ft, 6-Speed manual, 2844 lbs)

^ I personally like the 2013 tC's styling better and I haven't gotten the chance to drive the Koup. :indiff:

-> But based on initial impression, the tC gets my value juices up. The Koup is a very good attempt against the tC, infact I'd pick the Koup over the Civic & the Elantra (see above). But as a daily cruiser, the tC wins hands down, it's the sportiest FWD Toyota has to offer at the moment (pretty much a doppelganger to the FR-S), and it's hard to beat that panoramic roof, very hard. Unless you compare the Koup against tC's overseas cousin the Toyota Zelas (the one w/o the glass roof as standard):

^ Then, it will be a tougher choice! ;)

GAZ Volga Siber (2008-2010), $ 12-16k
2.4 L, 143 hp, 210 Nm, 4-speed automatic
Basically, this is just a restyled 2nd generation Chrysler Sebring (JR41 platform) with stiffer suspension and higher ground clearence.

or

Chevrolet Epica (a.k.a. Holden Epica, Daewoo Tosca) (2006-2011), $ 14-21k
2.5 L, 156 hp, 6-speed automatic

or

Mazda 6 (2007-2013), $ 16-28k
2.0 L, 147 hp, 5-speed automatic
^ Well, the Siber is build from a so-so American car and the Epica while curious (for me to drive, since it's not available in NA), it is not a particularly a quality car overall. So that leaves me with the Global 6, on which IS completely different to the ones we have here in the US:

3132_mazda-6_us-spec_2009_1600x1200_wallpaper_0b.jpg

^ I'll pick the Global 6 (even if it's an A/T), I bet it drives a whole a lot better than the leftover Chrysler, the Korean GM, and especially the fat Mazda!

Here, I'd really like to know your opinion about these hot sedans:

Toyota Mark II Tourer V (JZX90)
1JZ-GTE (2.5L twin turbo), FR

vs

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III
4G63 (2.0L turbo), 4WD
What would you go with?
^ FYI to everyone, let me clear this one out. THIS is the stock (Corona) Mark II Tourer V:

0501938A20130524W00102.jpg

0501938A20130524W00101.jpg

^ To people in the US, think of this as a Toyota's version of the 1st-gen M45 ('04-'06). To Euro people think of it as a stretched and narrower version of the 2nd-gen Lexus GS.

BT -> Despite the MkII having the FAILmatic, the (Corona) Mark II will be my choice. Simply because its rarer and more special than the Globally (except NA) available EvoIII. I really, really, really, really like the EvoIII; but the Mitsu is not as special compared to the RWD Toyota. And a simple tranny-swap wouldn't hurt either! ;)

The Evo III is very tempting but I'd take a stock Chaser. The one in the example is hideous so if it's between the two right there, Evo III by several lightyears.

Toyota Mark Tourer JZX vs. Mitsubishi Lan Evolution III CP: Ugh..... Hell, I'll take them both ;).

The JZX a perfect drift sedan or VIP style with 480hp and the Evolution 3 as a daily driver and track warrior with 460-500hp. :D

I'd have the Chaser. It may look old and boring but underneath it's pure drifting gold. Do want.

And it's getting annoying how people pick neither... If you don't like at least pick one, the thread is called "would you rather" after all..

Well, the one you show here is Mark II X100. The one I mean is X90 (or JZX90 for Tourer V). That's how a stock X90 looks:

Audi A1

Fiat 500

Citroen DS3

Vauxhall/Opel Adam
Adam-10_2272883k.jpg

Needs more MINI Cooper S. But out of those choices give me the DS3, I really like that car.

The Fiat. I saw someone driving hard through a intersection with that car the other day. I love them now.

Well the 500 is the only one of those that we get over here, so technically, I'd have to have that.

But if I wasn't limited by any of that, I'd have the Vauxhall/Opel Adam. I just love the way it looks, and it's a shame that we don't get it over here.

Evo 3.
DS3 as all the other cars looks so bland where as , the DS3 looks and feels sporty and the fact my parents own one makes it an easier choice.

Man I've got some catching up to do... lol...

Pontiac Aztec vs. Schwinn Coffee
I think I'll take the ugly looking Aztec and enjoy being lazy in a controlled climate.

Toyota Prius vs. Gas powered Skateboard
Same exact reason why I choose the Aztec over the Schwinn in addition to legacyMACHINE's post.

Passat W8 vs. Legacy 2.0GT vs. Mazdaspeed6
Ironically, I've been thinking about getting a Mazdaspeed 6 or a Legacy 2.5GT (not the 2.0GT). Out of this bunch I'd rather have the Mazdaspeed 6, so that I can slap on a GTX3071 and supporting mods to have an extremely fun daily driver.

Crossfire SRT-6 vs. SLK 32 AMG
I'll take the Crossfire then look into swapping out the 6 cylinder for a 6.1L or 6.4L Hemi

Ferrari 360 vs. Viper
I like the 360, but I'll take the newer and under warranty Viper.

Jeep Cherokee vs. Sock
I'll take the Cherokee just because I'd burn a hole into those socks quicker than I can go through a tank of fuel in the Jeep.

Aztech Rally Edition vs. Cherokee [KL] Limited
Two extremely ugly vehicles... lol... I think I'll take the Cherokee since it looks like something that could have came out of Avatar.

Actyon vs. Pig
Serious? lol... Actyon

Evo X MR vs. Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition
I'd gladly take any of these but I think I'd rather have the Evo X MR since it would be daily driven. I can't see myself owning the other car and daily driving it or even driving it that much considering how rare it is.

Hyundai Tiburon vs. Sentra SE-R Spec V
SE-R Spec V just because it's the very manual transmission car I learned how to drive.

Scion tC vs. Kia Forte Koup SX
I'll take the Kia since it's lighter and has the same amount of power as the Scion.

Civic Coupe EX vs. Elantra Coupe SE
I'll take the Civic, you'd have to pay me to drive that particular Hyundai.

Volga Siber vs. Epica vs. Mazda 6
I don't really know much about any of these cars but I'll take the Mazda 6 since it's best looking vehicle of the bunch.

Mark II Tourer V vs. Evo III
I'll take the Tourer and see how far I can take that 1JZ

Audi A1 vs. Fiat 500 vs. Citroen DS3 vs. Vauxhall/Opel Adam
I was going to pick the Fiat because "the Italians came to party" until I saw the DS3. I'd rather have the DS3 but in a different color.

Needs more MINI Cooper S. But out of those choices give me the DS3, I really like that car.

The Cooper S is a bit out of their league, the normal Cooper model would be a better fit. If it was the Abarth 500, DS3 Racing and A1 Quattro then yeah.

All right guys, I'm currently trying to decide between the two and would like to get you guys' opinions. The car will be daily driven and I will be looking at spending $5K on performance parts. The end goal is to have a fun 370 - 400 AWHP daily driver with some utility that I can enjoy for at least 10 years.

or

2011 Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback - 17,109 miles - 265 HP/244 LB-FT - AWD/5-Speed Manual
2011_subaru_impreza_4dr-hatchback_wrx-premium_fq_oem_1_500.jpg

Even though the STI has very high mileage for it's age I will have it because it's alot better than the WRX.
