Euro, front looks better but I'm still not a fan of civics.

Erm, everything isn't a valid explanation. Why is "everything" bad? To me, the wheels don't look bad, same with the cup holders. Please, explain your reasoning, as things like that are apparently awful...

Rims and cup holders don't make a vehicle a good vehicle.

Like @Slash said "it just is". I can't really explain to be honest. They're really just not my cup of tea, and they are all ugly in my opinion.

I know that they're reliable and efficient vehicles, but it seems like that's all vehicles are supposed to be these days. To me, they're just boring. That is why I love old vehicles so much better.

I'm the same way sometimes. It's difficult to explain.

The best thing I can think of is "it just is".

Yeah, I get that. But saying that everything is bad because you don't like is completely wrong. You're allowed to not like it, but from what I gathered, he was saying he doesn't like it so everything is bad. The Fiat Multipla is an incredibly bad looking car, and I hate it. But to my knowledge, it was actually a decent car. See what I mean?

Yes, I know. But you said "everything is wrong". The wheels and cup holder are part of the car, therefore meaning it is a part of "everything wrong with the car."

Hooray, an actual reason! This is what I was after.

That is understandable. As your username suggests, you're a fan of Mustangs, which probably also suggests it's harder for you to warm to domestic cars such as this, as they're normally seen as appliances (less so with the Si/Type R of course).

Ugly or boring? This is my personal taste here, but I don't find Civics particularly ugly, they've generally had quite unoffensive designs. This generation is a touch on the bland side though.

I think mustang people have to hate them to fit in you know... you can't be one of them until you hate the civic...

90s to 2000s aren't particularly new, are they? They're about the oldest you can go for ease of working generally, it's about the period where manufacturers were starting to experiment more with electronic gizmos.

1990 is the newest I'll go on anything. I don't even like going that new.

Technically they are. They're not classics, so what are they?

Cars like the R32 GT-R and R31 I'd call modern classics. '90s - '00 I'd call modern, but outdated. Not new though. '00 to '05 I'd call outdated modern again, but kinda new. '05 upwards I'd call a newish car.

I'd hardly consider my car "new"...
It's not, in the traditional sense of "new" (pre 5-7 years old), but it's "new" based on the fact that it's almost entirely ECU controlled. That came with the introduction of OBDI for emissions, hence why I said that stuff is to "new" for me. I like the mechanical controlled stuff. If something goes, I want to replace something, not dick around with a bunch of wires. Been down that road before. When cars lost that, I lost interest.

Must be something to do with localisation. Over here, '00 and up is seen as new, anything older is pretty old.

95-present is considered "new" around here I've noticed. I go back just a tad more.

So it's nothing really due the cars age, is it? I mean, the GT-R is only two years on from your period and that had a ton of electronic gizmos. What you're trying to say is that you prefer mechanically engineered cars?

Yes, exactly. But it's much easier for people to understand when you separate them by "age". Most people understand that old means mechanical and new means computers. A lot of people know that those ECU's came about in the late '80s, at least in the US. So it's somewhat easy to understand if you are into cars.

I wouldn't say my dad's 89 Dodge was "new". That thing would last forever. In my opinion, new vehicles aren't meant to last forever, because of all the plastic and electronics.

That's another thing I hate. Bumpers than morph into the body lines. Bumpers should be their own pieces. Very few cars I like that have them morph are mainly Fox Bodies, New Edges, and various other muscle cars like 2nd and 3rd Gen Camaros/Firebirds.

Also, PLASTIC SUCKS. Chrome FTW

I needs my V-TEC yo!
V-V-V-V-V-TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEC!
*sigh* I'm never going to hear the end of the "VTEC kicked in" jokes am I?

That WYR oddly enough turned out different from what I expected.
---------------------

Nissan 240SX SE (S14) vs Honda Civic Si Coupe (EM1); tough choice, and oddly enough, I think I'll have to pick the Civic Si Coupe.

Audi RS7 vs BMW M6; BMW M6, because ///M Power.

US-Spec Honda Civic vs Euro Spec Honda Civic; I think the Euro Civic, because I like hatchbacks.

Maybe that's how Mustang people think...

extremely closed minded :p
HEY! As a Mustang person, I resent that!

I'm going with Koenigsegg, but only because that one uses an Audi engine iirc, and there's an Audi dealership just down the road, where the nearest Mercedes is in Downtown...

My post in the cool wall thread for the SLR is why I'll have the the Swedish car whose name is hard to spell.

RS7 vs M6

RS7 for me. I love it!

EDM Civic vs ADM Civic

EDM Civic because bias and it looks a bit better

Koenigsegg CCX-R vs SLR McLaren

Koenigsegg because is a land missile and looks good with the bare carbon fiber
