I've always pronounced it as Awdee, but I've heard it both ways. Even official commercial pronounce it both ways.

Erm, everything isn't a valid explanation. Why is "everything" bad? To me, the wheels don't look bad, same with the cup holders. Please, explain your reasoning, as things like that are apparently awful...

I'm the same way sometimes. It's difficult to explain.

The best thing I can think of is "it just is".
