Easily the Buick for me simply because there is more aftermarket support for it over a rocket engine. More aftermarket means more power.

No you have to say it like Jeremy Clarkson POWEEEEER!!!

Il have the Buick engine just because I love Buicks.

"GT350" v. SVO: Definitely the SVO. Partly because it looks better, but mostly because it's not a fake Shelby.

Olds v. Buick Big blocks: Not really sure on this one, but something makes me want to say Buick.

996 GT2 v.s. 993 TT: 993- love a retro Porsche. 👍

5.0 GT350 20th Ann. v.s. SVO: 5.0, because V8. Never really liked fox body Mustangs though to be honest. :indiff:

Tesla S vs. A7 Quattro vs. BMW Gran Coupe: I'm stuck between the Audi and The Tesla. But I'll take them both!

911 GT2 TT 996 vs. 911 Turbo TT 993: Ugh, tough choice here! But I'll go with the 996, because the GT2 + TT = one wild ride! :D

GTR vs. Carrera 4S: The GTR wins hands down! :D

Mustang GT350 vs. SVO: The GT350 easily.

Olds Rocket 455 vs. Buick 455: I'll take that Olds Rocket and supercharge that badboy. POWWWWAAARRR!

996 GT2 vs 993 TT: 996 GT2, it's simply more evil.

GT-R vs C4S: Neither, give me an Audi R8 any day.

GT350 vs SVO: SVO, it's the best version of the worst Mustang.

455 engines: Neither, I'll have a Charger 440 or a Chevelle 454.

Slashfan
I'll take neither, and have the biggest of the bunch, the Ford 460 =P

👍 *Virtual High-Five for Ford Powa* I felt like the 440 and 454 were a bit too mainstream... that's why I went with the Olds and Buick 455's.

I actually prefer the Pontiac 455 to all of them really (as far as GM products are concerned). There's actually quite a bit of difference between them all, especially the Buick version. Same with small blocks. I'm more of a small block guy anyways though. If I wanted a big block though, I'd probably start with a 460 or an FE engine, maybe a 534 if I can find one, or maybe a GAA Engine used in Sherman tanks (1,100 cubic inches). Weighs as much as a fully dressed 460 and only slightly larger, but 3x the torque and horsepower (factory stock speaking). Of course, that would be for a toy with a chassis that can withstand torque in amounts equal to the displacement. =P

Yeah, it was the biggest, but it wasn't really a performance engine. It was put in big Cadillacs in like 1970-1976.

E46 BMW M3
Price range $15k-$25k

Hyundi Genesis Coupe
Price range $20k-$25k

BMW M3 vs. Hyundai Genesis - That's a really, really hard choice. I'll go with the M3, the E46 is the best generation. The Honda Hyundai was really, really, extremely close though.

Neither was the 460 IIRC ?

Well it wasn't strictly a performance engine; it was used in police interceptors, and also put in trucks and motorhomes that had to haul huge amounts of weight. But, the 460 is very closely related to the 429, which is very performance orientated.

As for the comparison above, that is hard for me as well. I could care less about older BMW's, but that just looks really nice. The BMW would be the cooler car, but the Hyundai would be more reliable, practical, and cheaper to maintain. If I had a limited budget, I'd get the Hyundai. But if I had enough money to be safe for needed repairs, I'd get the BMW.

Ford F-150 Raptor vs. Dodge Ram SRT10 - I'll have to pick the SRT10 because it looks a whole lot better, and it's the one that won't break down on you 300 days of the year.

Because new F-150s are so prone to breaking down. :dunce:

Tacoma VS Frontier

When it came time for my dad to get rid of his GS300, he wanted something cheaper and more rugged. His two main choices were a Highlander and a Tacoma, one just like the 2013 pictured. That was seven years ago, but the Tacoma remains mostly the same. He ended up going with a Highlander. For a truck that's going on nine years old, it still looks pretty modern, moreso than the newer Frontier, or any other compact truck, though that's really just a class of what, two trucks now? The Tacoma's nice to look at than the Frontier, as is the interior. So based on looks alone, I'll go with the Tacoma. If it's the T/X Baja, that only sweetens the deal.

Raptor VS Ram

I continue to be surprised at how well the Raptor has sold in my area. I'd say nearly half the new F150s here are Raptors; I see them constantly. The Ram's a ludicrous truck, but I'm sure it's a real hoot. The problem with the Ram is that its interior is kind of meh. The Raptor's a more modern truck, should be easier to live with, and has an all-important better interior. I'll take the Ford.

Supra VS RX-7

The fourth generation Supra is one of my favorite sports cars. It still looks good today, it has a nice, driver-focused cockpit, and that twin turbo 2JZ is hard to beat. You can even get it with T-Tops, which take the Supra's bitchin' factor up to eleven. The RX-7's not a bad looking car either, but I've never been to interested in rotary engines, or the extra maintenance they require. I'll take the Toyota.

911 VS C12

Never been a big fan of Paganis. I'll choose the Porsche for that reason.

Stupid Overrated Blob Model S VS A7 VS 640i

I'm in a group of about five car guys that doesn't like the Model S. It certainly isn't nice to look at; all blobby and generic from the front, then all fat in the profile, and have you seen how wide it looks from the rear? Unfortunately, these things have replaced Panameras and possibly Raptors as the hot car around here. Bleh. The interior's bad too; who thought a giant square screen in the center was a good idea? Because eff ergonomics, I guess. I don't hate screens, but they start to become an annoyance when they comprise of more than half the center stack, or in this case, they are the center stack. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike electric cars, I think the technology's great, and I wouldn't mind having a Leaf. But in a luxury car like this, I'd like to have an exhaust note. The A7's a pretty sharp looking car. The interior's got a nice array of technology, but it's posed in a form that's simple like the A6 it's based on rather than the somewhat overwhelming interior of the A8. But the 640i's a pretty slick looking car too. The interior's not as nice as the Audi, but like any modern BMW, it's still pretty good. Rear wheel drive means it may be a little more exciting than the Audi, and it will certainly handle better. I'll take the Bimmer because it has the edge in driving fun.

996 VS 993

I'll take the 993.

GT-R VS 911

If there's a car I dislike more than the Model S, it's the damn R35. I won't go into detail because I'm too lazy, so I'll take the 911 because it's so much nicer looking, has a better interior, and still has plenty of power.

GT VS SVO

Not a very big fan of the Fox Body Mustang, though some tastefully modified (most aren't) examples are appealing. I'll take the SVO because it's rarer and more special than the GT.

Big Block Engines

No.

M3 VS Genesis

No contest here, the M3, hands up. It's faster, sounds better, is more luxurious, is higher quality, handles better, has better steering, and it's a BMW, rather than a Hyundai.

Next up: 90s mid-level luxury sedans.

M3 E46 vs. Genesis Coupe: Tough choice here, since I love E46s and the Genesis to death. But I'll go with the E46 and try to make it into the M3 CSL E46. ;)

E34 5 Series vs. C4 A6 vs. Benz W124 E vs. Legend vs. GS300 aka Astro: Ugh, well I'll go with the E34 and GS300, because BMW and Lexus. 👍

M3 vs Hyundai, M3. Really dont like that hyundai that well.

4-4doors: The Bmw. I saw one on the highway with wide tires and it had a type of stance. It just looked so aggresive.

-> ...
It's crazy how cheap 996s and how expensive 993s are.
996 GT2 with many thousands in upgrades pushing 700WHP and 22K miles (We're talking a 200K plus car here plus mods) - $75,450

OR

A pristine 1996 993TT with 65K miles - $69,900

This is horribly hard for me.
^ It wasn't for me. Even though I've driven a 996 (GT3 ver.2), I pick the 993 hands down. I've always see the 996 to be (very) bland and oversized compared to the 993, plus it is very hard to top the 993.

Nissan R35 GTR (more in link)

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S cabrio (more in link)
^ Ugh. I'd pick neither. For the same price, I'd get the hoon-wagon! The CTS-V wagon (w/ 6M/T)!

1984 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L Shelby GT 350 20th Anniversary

vs

1986 Ford Mustang SVO 2.3L
^ For some reason, the SVO is the perfect Fox-body 'Stang. It has that rightness feel to it, it's light, somewhat handsome (compared to the GT), and very special. For those reasons alone, the SVO is my choice!

Would you rather have the...

Oldsmobile Rocket 455, 7.5L (275HP-400HP)

Or

Buick Big Block 455, 7.5L (175HP-370HP)
^ Other than the Chevy's 454, Chevy's 327, & Chrysler's 440. Those engines mentioned above does not get me giddy enough to pick one. So I pick neither.

E46 BMW M3
Price range $15k-$25k

Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Price range $20k-$25k
^ Even though I'm a current E46 M3 owner, it would still be a very hard preposition! But, it seems like based on your price range, it would really be likely to be a 2.0T R-Spec instead of a 3.8 R-Spec. I've driven both 2.0 (210hp) & 3.8 (306hp) version 1's, I haven't got the chance to even touch the 2.0 (276hp) & 3.8 (345hp) version 2's! And yes the M3 take a little bit more attention to take care of...

-> Even with those shortcomings, I would still pick the M3 simply because it's more livable on a daily use: roomier back seat, roomier trunk/boot space, airy cabin (larger windows), working rear windows, and far better steering feel.

Next up: 90s mid-level luxury sedans.

1995 BMW 530i E34 (3.0 V8, 215 horsepower/214 lb-ft, 3693 lbs)

1995 Audi A6 C4 (2.8 V6, 172 horsepower/184 lb-ft, 3726 lbs)

1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 W124 (3.2 I6, 217 horsepower/229 lb-ft, 3525 lbs)

1995 Lexus GS300 (3.0 I6, 220 horsepower/210 lb-ft, 3660 lbs)

1995 Acura Legend LS (3.2 V6, 200 horsepower/210 lb-ft, 3516 lbs)
^ The A6 is so uninspiring to look at, so thats out.

-> The Lex tries too hard to be on this group. But stylistically, it's my 2nd favorite GS design (other than the 3rd gen). But it is more of a mini-LS alternative.

-> I really do like the W124 a lot. But whenever I hear/read about the W124 only 4 models that pops into my head: the 500E, the E60 AMG, the 300E CDI, and the TE series. So the 320 is out.

-> Ah, the Legend. The pinnacle flagship sedan from Honda/Acura and the most handsome ever. I would take this Legend over the the whole Acura's currently offering today. But compared to the next one, it falls short.

-> I have a deep attachment to the E34. My dad used to have the 'weakling 525i US-spec' back in the Philippines. I would think the 530i is the better balance to toss around and the 5M/T might be a joy. Plus:

M3 vs Genesis: M3. No explanation needed.

Sedans: I'll have the W124. It's rock solid in build quality.

FWD Roadsters: Neither. These will never be proper sports cars if they aren't RWD.

Dat logic. I'd go for the Lotus personally. It seems like the sportiest and the best sports car of the bunch.

Plus it's a lotus. A bad man never drives a Lotus.

Apart from that one called Romain ;)
