Pantera because mid mounted 400hp 351 Cleveland V8.

And you can't beat the sound of the 351 Cleveland.

^ That!

Also, what were Porsche thinking when they styled that thing? The Pantera looks like a car that would still stand out today, whereas the Porsche seems like it would fit in with a crowd of Ford Kas.

That too, but I think having 4 gears in a car would annoy me more than having it auto. An auto transmission has its benefits (cruising, etc), but 4 gears is just an embarrassment. Just my opinion...

So pretty much every car ever made before 1990 is an embarrassment?

Audi A6 3.0 TFSI vs. Infiniti M37 vs. BMW 535i vs. Lexus GS350 vs. Mercedes-Benz E350 - The A6 is out for the pure lack of excitement for a high price. The BMW is out because I6 and it's also expensive. The E350 is out because it may be good looking, but it's expensive and has less power than the last 2 standing. So that leaves the Lexus and Infiniti. I'll take the Infiniti because it's powerful, not too expensive, and it's Japanese, so it's very reliable.

Results:
1. Infiniti M37
2. Lexus GS350
3. Mercedes-Benz E350
4. BMW 535i
5. Audi A6 3.0 TFSI

Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Special Edition vs. Ford Mustang GT - Easily the GT. The Pontiac has a 4-speed auto, has less power (although it does have a bit more torque), is front wheel drive, and it has too much chrome for me.

Results:
1. Ford Mustang GT
2. Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Special Edition

Porsche 914/6 vs. De Tomaso Pantera - Pantera, the 914 just doesn't say performance to me, and it's not really that good looking.

Results:
1. De Tomaso Pantera
2. Porsche 914/6

If we were judging them purely on their transmission systems, then yes, I believe that's the truth. Engines, styling and many other aspects of motoring were amazing, but transmission systems were just awful. 5 gears is the minimum for me and 6 is the perfect amount (in my opinion).

You're telling me that Powerglides and C4/C6 transmissions suck? Do you have any idea HOW HEAVILY they are used in motorsports???

GT-90 for sure I love that car. It was so out there in styling.

BMW for the second set of cars

Mustang because Mustang fan boy. On the whole trans debate that GTP has a super broad torque curve so I bet only having 4speeds wouldn't be that bad. I like GTPs and the Regal GS platform mates. If I could find a nice cheap GS I would so DD it.

Thank you for that, I laughed my 🤬 off!

Alright, I think this got a bit out of hand. I don't know every single transmission system that's ever been developed and I won't pretend that I do. I was simply stating that in my opinion, 4 gears is not enough, unless you have a very old hatchback. Some of you may be ok with having a car with 4 gears, but I despise it. We're all allowed an opinion, are we not?

I just disagreed in the form of a GIF :P. Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's.

Shelby CSX-VNT vs. Shelby Durango SP360 - Durango, too easy. It's better in almost everything. Although I do like the CSX.

Results:
1. Shelby Durango SP360
2. Shelby CSX-VNT

CSX vs Durango - Is that an SUV with racing stripes? I love it! I'll take that, all day every day. This would be a harder comparison if the CSX was actually RWD, since I love the styling of each car. I'm sticking with the Durango, though.

1. Durango
2. CSX

Luxury Full-Size Sedans; BMW 5-Series f10

Pontiac Grand Prix Special Edition vs Ford Mustang GT; Mustang GT, it's faster to 60 and on the quarter mile. It also has a MT and more gears in its transmission.

Porsche 914 vs 1971 De Tomaso Pantera; Pantera, mainly because it's better looking and I don't like the 914 that much.

The 4 speed is a select shift. You can shift it similar to a manual only no clutch pedal.

Power glides have 2 gears. C6s have 3. Considering that you can easily hit 60 in first gear I don't see an issue. I prefer to shift less to go fast.

1989-90 Nissan 180SX (CA18DET)

or...

1989-92 Mazda RX-7 (Series 5 13B)
^ I'd take the 180SX, It's a better daily driver (4-seats is a plus) and can be tossed around a corner (sideways) if necessary. ;)

Here's one from me and it'll be a bit random.

BMW M3 e36 Lightweight, Ford RS200, SRT Viper, or the Jaguar XJR
^ The E36 & the RS200 are out, simply because they're too special to be tossed around on a daily basis unless you're either Jay Leno or Chris Evans. :indiff:

-> So its between the Jaaaaggggg and the Viper. I'd pick the Viper simply because it won't put me to sleep as the Jaaaaggg will.

Plymouth Superbird

OR

Ford RS200
^ On this circumstances, I'd pick the RS200. I'd rather drive a mosquito than a whale.

2013 Icona Vulcano

OR

2013 GTA Spano
^ I'd pick the GTA, I just can't say no to a mid-engined Viper!

Audi A6 3.0 TFSI (3.0 S/C V6, 310 horsepower/320 lb-ft, 8-Speed A/T, ~4,100 lbs, $55,100)

Mercedes-Benz E350 (3.5 V6, 302 horsepower/273 lb-ft, 7-Speed A/T, ~4000 lbs, $51,900)

Darn, I'm kinda stuck between the e36 M3, e46 M3 CSL, and 1M Coupe. I think out of those 3; it would have to be the M3 CSL.

Pantera vs. 914: Tough, but I'll go with the 914.

BMW Coupes: Ugh, this is tough for me since there's some good coupes in the lineup. Between the M3s, CSL, and the 1M... I'll go for the CSL, then 2nd is the 1M.

Seriously? Is your only criteria for a car for it to have a manual transmission?

Here's a WYR just for you.

Rolls Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase (Automatic transmission)

Or...

This 1988 Yugo? (manual transmission)

Camaro. Pretty easy for me considering the other cars are as interesting to me as a log.

Can you really classify the Camaro with the others? A front drive hot hatch and two AWD sedans against a 2 door muscle car? Camaro for me regardless, I love the 1LEl.

You probably wouldn't miss the MT on the 5er after driving it with that wonderful 8 speed, I feel it's better suited to the car and it knows exactly What gear you want to be in with minimal lag. Nothing like going 80 at low 2K RPM

As for the WYR I'd take the CSL because it's the most special of them. I'd prefer the 1M if it had an S54 rather than the N54

~> Save the Manuals!

Rolls Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase (Automatic transmission)

^ I'd actually take the Yugo mind you! I make it cool enough for the fraction of that hip-hop Roller you got there!

Another one from me:

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR, VW Golf Mk.VI R, Subaru Impreza WRX Sti, or Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE
^ Well the Camaro is out simply because I've never liked the that 'BumBee. The Evo is simply boring IMHO. I just love the flexibily of the GolfeR. The STI thou, I haven't driven it, but I've never like it's shouty look. So I'll pick the GolfeR. And make mine a M/T, PLEASE!

^ I've driven many Bimmer DCT's from the F30 328i to the 640i to the E92 M3. Other than treating it like a regular A/T, most of the time its a meh IMHO. It totally dilutes my experience, but not everyone have the same feeling thou. Sorry, I'd rather do the dance on the driver seat rather than driving like I'm playing GT/Forza.
