Questions:
-What is the difference between WRC Experience and Free Run in Road to Glory? It would seem to me that WRC Experience should just be "arcade mode" but it doesn't have all the cars, that I can find? Free Run does, but is restricted by what I have unlocked? Either I'm dumber than a bag of rocks and can't figure it out or someone made a really dumb decision in that game design (imo)

Road to Glory is like the career mode basically, so thats where your driver is, cars you have unlocked and so on. WRC experiance is essentially the official mode if you like, has all the stages but only has the official WRC series' (WRC, S200, PWRC, JWRC) hence why it doesn't appear to have all the cars. Just official ones. Also this is where you can just run a championship start to finish if you wish, like I am just using Ott Tanaks Fiesta to do a championship.

Does anyone have playable settings for G25 on PC? Totally awful FFB and wheel settings ruin the game for me..

Played for a few hours today..im really enjoying this game..but whenever im on the menu's i turn the sound off as its the worst menu music on any game ive ever played!!!

First thing I did was turning off the "music"
Not really my cup of tea either.

If it's the same music as with the demo, I'm fine with that - I found the Dubstep to suit the feel quite well - I suppose it's all personal in the end though.

I won't be able to judge for myself until Sunday though - the game is sat there on the table in front of me, but the PS3 is still 206 miles, 198 yards and 7 inches away...

I think there are 3 stage in a rally in R2G.

Is there a free run mode in R2G? I have to find that.

Agree with you on the music, horrible.

But at least the racing feels very good.

Dutch www.insidegamer.nl site gave it a 5+. Shame on the reviewer. He does not know anything.

Yes, while in road to glory (on ps3) press square to bring up free run to select car/stage.

So 3 stages per rally for every rally? I guess that's fine. Just wish they told you...somewhere.

I just don't get the decision behind these two. If I want to take a Lancia for a spin in New Zealand, I can't, at least until I get a good chunk of campaign out of the way to unlock it. Now, I plan to do so anyway, but I think out-of-the-box there should be a way to use any car on any track in an arcade setting.

I think you will find the controls work fine after some drive in so to speak. 180 degrees in profiler 100 % approx ffb strength. rest you can as well put to 0.

Not much more you can do. It does work well for me but I agree about ffb being sub standard.

Unlocked the last segment of RTG now. They don´t really seem to ramp up the difficulty. The previous super specials I won with up to 5 seconds margin on first try. Now I drove quite decent and got beaten by 5 seconds lol

180 degress, sigh.. i'll leave this game untill its modded enough to be somewhat good, since i doubt the developer will do anything about it

Sigh, the rest of us will keep on enjoying it whilst you wait ;)

I've recently started writing Community Reviews for a relatively new site named A Band Of Gamers. ABOG have a podcast every 2 weeks and allow members to post up articles to the review section.

I did a write up on WRC3, which I hope you guys will enjoy:

Constructive criticism welcome!

Good review. And I think you highlighted all of the shortcomings of the game that I had come up with. It's a great game physics and playability-wise, but there are a number of gripes, such as the auto respawn (if I go horribly wrong I want to see the carnage!), weird physics when you go on two wheels.... and one thing you didn't pick up on which seems really silly (but is also missing from other recent racing games) - why no instant replay option? If you do an awesome crash why do you have to drive to the end of the stage to be able to look at the carnage again?

But I totally agree, it's a great game, and hard - it's going to take a long time to get good enough to win championships at full difficulty with no aids!

Game finally arrived yesterday but I was pretty busy and didn't get to play it much. I decided to start a WC with the 5 easiest rallies in Tanek's Ford (Spain, Portugal, Finland, Germany, France). Managed to win in Spain and get first in the power stage. Next up Portugal, managed to almost kill my car in stage one. Only 16s seconds down now  Hopefully I can catch up somehow, and hopefully I get a chance to play it over the weekend :)

Only flaw seems to be the long loading times, though it's not that big of a concern :)

Has anyone on PS3 had trouble with the game locking up the console in Road to Glory, section 3, event 2 (Wales GB single stage 2WD rookie?) I've tried to do this twice now and each time it locks up in the exact same spot, about halfway through the second sector before a right hairpin I think.

Edit: Tried it again with a different car, made it through. So if your console locks up on that stage, don't use a Ford Fiesta.

Just happened to me now got through first time ok but did it again to get first. It happened in the spot you said but I was driving a Citroen c2.

Huh so I'm not alone then. Did changing vehicles do anything? Obviously a glitch though since it was in the same spot.

Another bug I noticed, and this has happened on two separate occasions now, is that when doing something that doesn't have co-driver turns in it (gate crasher stuff), when I go back to do an actually rally the co-driver and the signs are absent. I rebooted the game both times and it fixed the issue.

Nope I used the same car the whole time just had to reboot till it worked.

Got a few hours in on the game now, just the first RWD, RWD Pro, Class 3, Class 2 and 70's done so far so not enough to fully appreciate how the game will pan out - what I've seen so far though is great.

It's a lot of fun and is far harder than the previous two. I had to laugh at one of the Spanish or Portuguese stages that has a difficulty rating of 1 which was hairpin after hairpin pretty much all the way through - great stuff and it really keeps you on edge throughout.

I like the car classes better this time and the Honda Civic R3 has a great sound - a superb feeling after starting with the Fiesta R2 and Citroen C2...

Good improvement on saving set ups too, though I'd still like the option to have more than ten.

Here's looking forward to the weekend when I can get some serious hours in behind the controller on this.

My PC version arrived today.

Few weird issues to begin with, like the install wouldn't start by itself and my anti virus program was convinced it was a virus. Also weird things like only one of the "enter" keys works on the keyboard, no option to adjust graphics in the game and the out of game adjustments are VERY minor. No Low/medium/high or anything like that.

Once I got it working I tried out some single stages and the gameplay is great overall, I have a few issues with how technical some of the stages are like they are almost too tight and twisty. No roads are like that in real life so it just seems a bit over the top to have hairpin after hairpin barely getting out of 2nd-3rd gear. Also the pace notes are ridiculous at times and very inconsistent so getting a good stage time is near impossible unless you have driven it a few times.

Biggest issue is the lack of a career mode, why on earth would they remove this feature? The road to glory or whatever is not a good replacement for a career mode where you progress through the ranks competing in championships.

One last complaint is the AI difficulty, there is a weird bug where even if I turn the difficulty to it's highest point it keeps returning to one below the highest?? But the issue is that the difficulty is inconsistent. On a particular difficulty I could win one stage by 10 seconds and then lose by 10 seconds on one from a different rally. Both new stages to me and driving at a similar speed.

Driving in cockpit view the game looks and feels very realistic, it's a worthy purchase for any WRC fan.

Ken Block put out a vid a while ago showing his daily routinues including two test sessions for the stage he wa about to race, both for several hours each.

I don't think we are expected to nail it first time unless done at extremely low AI difficulty. Personally I'm glad that the AI is challenging and the twisty stages are fun. I think later stages will have more open sections. Sorry I can't offer any tips regarding bugs for the PC - PS3 player here - good luck with getting it sorted.

I had the same issue I was driving a German stage in an N3 car and won by about 8 seconds. Then the next event was the same German stage in an S2000 slightly fast speeds and I got murdered by the AI what gives?

The AI killed me on the Group B race with in the UK... the first one you unlock..
