No they don't matter to those in the know.
However small developers can really get hurt with bad reviewing.

Us faithful who take a keen interest in these games rely on each other for our info.

The gamers who are middle of the road and who milestone would want to attract are the consumers who will pass on this due to shoddy reviews.

That is a shame. This is far better than Dirt 3 IMHO. But maybe the mainstream review sites are more in tune with mainstream gamers after all. It's us who are the odd ones.

I think it's disgusting this couldn't scrape an 8 from most sites. Certainly doesn't deserve 5/6.

When developers improve there titles this should be commended. Not marked backwards.
Indeed, gaming reviews is huge mafia. Just like Michelin guide you know, to have high scores with your restourant/hotel you basically need to corrupt them, same thing with games. Very sad and very true. If you don't pay you get bad scores.

The only thing we can do is fight these a$$****s with the word of mouth.

True indeed HKS - I've also noticed how popular this thread is, with a very high page count considering the niche nature of the game - seems to me like proof enough that Rally has a market.

I hope the game does well and everyone enjoys themselves.

Sometimes engine sound is not present. Restart of race solves it.

During RtG you can save in a rally. In the 3 stage rally in Finland with the Rs200, the game won't load when it saved after the first stage. I had to restart from stage one. Not a deal breaker, but it does not build confidence.

One time the game froze during a uk stage.

Otherwise still in love with WRC3

Adrian, that is another excellent video. It just shows how much there is to remember on these tracks, all of the corner combinations, where you can let it out and where you have to be cautious.

Just...one...more...week...

By the way Hyland, if online follows the previous games' method then it will be very absorbing. You can enter for one race, a few or do full rallies that can take an hour to get through all thirteen stages.

Just wait until you use a Group B car for the first time...this dev is the only one that has captured the insanity of those beasts properly. I can't say accurately as I've never been in a Group B but I was always sweating and exhausted after running a stage in one of them in WRC 2.

If you think the RS200 is a handful, you should try the lancia, it's an animal and really hard to tame. I managed a good time in Finland with it though :D

Yeah I just got it last night, the RS200 is probably easier to get a fast time in and is probably just as much fun, but the lancia is a beast. The WRC cars are probably still faster though just because they are so stable and can put down all their power.

Sounds definitely like my cup of tea and should serve some challenge among the better players.

👍

RS 200 in WRC 3 is a beast surely great fun. Is it just me or is it extremely hard not to lock the brakes on it. I don´t know if these cars really had more powerful brakes then what is on a modern WRC car?. I suppose it has modern racing tires or is it old bachelit ones that means they lock up more easilly. If I go at full speed it´s like the brakes instantly lock and you thus can´t steer at all.

hi all
Yes the gravel sound on pc is to loud with no option to turn it down i played ps3 demo version and the gravel on spain did not sound like this but pc version sounded bad with an option to turn road noise down it could be tweaked just right i think!!

Is that the same for all gravel surfaces or just Finland on PC? I ask because each type of gravel surface will have a different composition, Spain should sound different from Finland or Wales I'm guessing.

I haven´t been annoyed by the gravel sounds. I get none of the garbage in that video.
I quite like the audio. Initially I was a bit underwhelmed by the engine noise but the ambient noises make up for it :) However PC does have better audio then Xbox 360 or it´s just my X-fi DAC/GHP combo that yell better then my Onkyo receivers DAC/headphone output

btw has anyone done the pierre leroy challenge. the guy to beat in the monte carlo section on road to glory? I can´t seem to do that my car starts to roll backwards during countdown and never get control over the car?

If anyone is online send me a friend request, just started online and loving it.

If you're on PS3 you're probably really 133rd if you don't count the cheaters.

I'm 6th in the world on Finland Leustu stage, but if you don't count the cheaters I'm first.

Yeah 133rd. Hell 1st "legal" time is a Skoda S2000 car!!!

Yeah that Skoda is a very fast car when it has all the mods done. I think the performance points aren't much to go by in this game. The Lancer Evo 3 is also a surprisingly fast car, for the spec it has in the game.

I broke into the top 10 on one track up to now, but am having problems with the car bogging down. vid 17, 25, 32. is this in the game or is it my wheel? anyone else having this problem?

It seems like your gearing is too tall, but I think some cars in this game are just like that, they really bog down, I think it's the reason why some cars are so fast, like the Skoda S2000 it does not bog down much and it's very fast because of it. It's also the reason I like the Evo 3, it's the nicest to drive out of the '90s cars I've driven.

yeh i think it only happens on the turbo cars, must be turbo lag then!

Some turbo cars don't have this problem too though. I don't remember the Polo having that problem. I'll give it a try and see if mine is the same.

Edit: Hard to tell if they're the same, mine doesn't seem to bog as much as in your video. It could be the traction control I was complaining about before, as that's the best way I could describe it. It just seems to be part of the game.
