I might check out the DLC. The Mini seems a bit steep, but it is a rally classic. How long is the Safari course?

First impressions: the game is a lot of fun. I messed around with it a bit on the gamepad, and the stages seem to be decently long with some nice technical bits. I only drove one or two stages with the wheel (G25), mostly to get it set up. Seems solid. I do like that the handbrake can be linked to the gear lever down when I have it set to sequential shift. Hopefully I get to play a bit more tonight.

I'm really having a blast with this game but is it just me or does the motion blur do nothing in photo mode?

Also is the safari rally DLC worth getting?

OK, was figuring on picking up a PS3 copy today after reading through this thread. However the reviews have me a little spooked.

From you guys who play GT5, how do the physics compare? That's my absolute main concern. I'm a wheel user-DFGT/no aids. Thanks.
Tested the demo with DFGT the ffb is good and challanging even compared to GT5. I just don't like the menu, but who cares. Next 3 / 4 months I'll buy it. I'm a tarmac guy so I'm in no rush but I'll surely play this game before selling PS3.

So, I've been debating on getting this title for the PC. I played Dirt 3 a while ago on the ps3, but it lacks the classic point to point stages that I was looking for. I did however enjoy how the cars handled in Dirt 3.

Got a few questions though before I pull the trigger. Handling wise, how is WRC 3 out of the box? From watching vids, the slow hairpin style turns seem to look a bit weird. The cars look to wash out and slow way down while handbraking and not getting that much 4 wheel drift out of the turns. Maybe its just the driver, but it seems alot of drivers have this issue. Maybe its not an issue, just doesn't quite look right in replays.

Next question, how's the advanced physics mod? Again, from watching vids, this looks like a great mod. Cars look to be sliding around more(which is good imo) and the cars look more alive coming out of turns, especially the hairpins.

Lastly, is there any issues with the advanced physics mod? Any glitches or quircks one should know about before applying to the game?

I bought this game for PC and thrashed online multiplayer until I got sick of it, the physics without the mod are fine. The hairpin turns feel great, not sure what you're worried about but on tarmac stages it's dead easy to hand brake and power out of the corners and it feels very realistic. The visuals and sounds are miles from Dirt 3 so it was hard for me to enjoy this game in single player but online multiplayer is good fun.

You only notice the motion blur with longer shots - I posted one a few pages ago on this thread of the Evo in Finland seen through a bush. Otherwise it is only incrementally visible the closer you get to the car.

The Safari is a lengthy stage with three distinct surface types that make it fun. You have dry dirt, gravel and mud. The second stage is just the first in reverse. I think it's a good one to have as you can set up personal rallies that include it in the 'Road to the WRC' section and it is useable online, at least I think it is.

The patch has fixed the Mini customisation issues - it no longer crashes the game :)

I got this for PS3 a few days ago (my PC is not up to snuff), and it is a blast. The stages are decently long, and each country has a very different feel. I use G25 and really enjoy the physics. With all the assists off, there is a great sense of speed at places like Finland. If I crash or even miss an apex, I'm not sitting there scratching my head thinking "how did that happen?" like in the DiRT series or Shift. Here, if I mess up, it makes sense. The wheel feels great as well. The grip levels change as the surface changes, and brake and throttle modulation make a difference. Hairpins feel good to me as well.

I can't comment on the physics mod, of course, but out of the box it plays really well with the assists off. With the assists on the game drives itself. I suppose that is good for people who don't often play racing games or for kids. Anyway, I've enjoyed it. It might not have the polish or big budget as DiRT, but it's a much purer, more focused rally game.

Yeah, as much as I loved all three DiRT titles, I think that BB have CM a bit worried - though they'd never admit it...

Hopefully this will mean a purer rally game from them next time with less faff and invading peripheral stuff. Like I say, I loved all three DiRT games but please just focus on rally with weather and night-time.

This game is an absolute blast on the Vita. Looks great, sounds great and most importantly it plays fantastic. I'm having a great time with it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Installing on PC right now!👍

Together with NFS Most Wanted, the driving genre on the Vita has 2 solid games.

Yup, this is the rally game I was looking for. Only gripe is having problems getting online. Gamespy account won't validate. Got the download version from Amazon.

Car models look very good and graphics overall are decent. Steering has a little delay, but doesn't hold back the game any imo. Car handling feels good and looking forward to many hours fun with this game.

the game play over all is great but I have had a few issues it froze up on me once had to restart my PS3 then my car changed color on me once. And I had an issue with blurry back ground graphics ( track markers, hay bails and so on)

But it is still a fun racer the physics are good better then GT5 rally physics by far and I would also have to say better then Dirt3 as well.

I agree. Much better than DiRT, but it does have a few QA issues. One of the odd ones is when there is no engine noise, only the turbo, tires and such. It sounded like I was driving an EV rally car. I really am enjoying this game, though.

Don't know exactly what the patch solved, but lack of engine sound was an issue at initial release.

Solve it by restarting the stage.

Could be worse, previously they said absolutely nothing - at least now they are learning to advertise stuff about the game, plus info on upcoming DLC and announcing patches too.

It would be handy to have a list of the changes though, I agree.

PS3 Patch list - 360 and PC patch to come by end of april.

- The feedback force "maximum" is too much and tends to heat too much the Logitech wheels (after 2 h there was burn smell)

- [wheel] changing settings insite the in_race option menu is not working until restarting the race

- Other minor fixes

Thanks for finding that - most of that stuff I had no idea about, except the need to put your car in automatic for the last three boss battles.

Ever since discovering Richard Burns Rally i've not played WRC3 in months.

One thing that i would like them to address is full screen in 16:10 ratio, i get black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.
