Masterdriver, all the vid hosting services have to look at the video to make sure it's not porn. it will take a little bit.

Thank you, I Accept your results :P .. So the R390 Can definetly stomp the STi, I assume its because of the differnce in breaking :)

Also please check POST#1 for updated info.

HEY someone let me IM them the VIDEO, This YouTube.com crab seems to not be COmpleting the confirmation step!@#!@#

Sorry about this one, but as I work in the motor industry, it's braking not breaking.

Pedantic I know, but I can't help in one things like this, its just what I do for a living.

And the difference in braking between the two would be noticable, mainly due to the greater contact patch of the R390 and from higher speed the downforce.

:)

It's both if you're in a TVR.

LOL quite right, reminds me of the Best Motoring episode when the TVR's pedal box started to come apart, nuts and bolts all over the footwell!!!!!!!!!!

i gotta post here otherwise its gonna become MOD Party USA.. :P I'm uploading to PutFile now it keeps basically stopping at the 100% mark i'll give it 20-30 mins and see what happens.

ALso, eventhough the (ahem) mods got off topic, i'd like to say please resume your tests people, i'm looking for more results like the one Specialized got with the R390

Could someone please clear this up for me...?

Exactly what is the question/ challenge/ comparison (or the basis there of)?

Is this a matter of total Cr. price?
Drivetrain based comparison?
Horsepower or PWR?

That could make it much easier for me to find a good runner to compare the STI with. :trouble:
(other than the Evo since that is such an obvious pick :dunce: )

Hope to hear back from you all soon,
-

i'll post in the first one

Ok, thanks.

Btw, did you do any weight modifications?
(weight reduction stage 1, 2, 3)
Plus, what is the weight of the Sti you used?

Regarding the greater question of what will run well against an STI... Like I said earlier, a good starting place is the Evolution (mitsubishi). The Evo tends to exhibit less understeer (as reputation has it). I think the Evo does actually have less understeer thanks to the excellent turn-in under braking (although sometimes that can be a problem ;) ).

At any rate, I will be back with a few times for you.
Until then,

Even though you stated that you have a 100 shot of NOS in the first post you forgot to add that the lap time was achieved using NOS..

I still think that NOS creates too much of a variable. 4WD's have a huge advantage as they can hit the boost button alot earlier and brake a heap later than other drivetrains.

I agree AWD's have an advantage, but i dont think any AWD can compete :(, STi is too much of a beast. As far as other Drivetrains the R390 beat the record.. :)

MasterDriver - I just watched your replay video and don't get it at all how on earth youre able to get a 1'21 lap with screwing around that much
is it too much if I ask you to record another video of the replay using the bumper cam? :)
I just wanna see if my early apexing technique at every corner could actually be that much slower than your wild drifting :p

well i guess i'll take this two-fold, One: as a compliment and Two: as a possible point of interest

Basically the form you see in the video is what came out of pushing the car to the limit around the track, its the "Fastest" way i've found, and I do believe a 1'20.xxx can be hit by cleaning up, (THINKS*) the 2 corners that were slightly missed.. I guess i could get another cam but it would have to be after work :), and before i recam this lap i think i'll get the dreaded 1'20.xxx then re-cam it :)

Umm yea i have zero idea what your talking about.. LOL Get some Sleep!! if you stayed up just for this challenge then its a good challenge :) hope your having fun :p, and not getting fired from your job or booted outta school :p

Also make sure you use Sport-Medium TIRES :)

I wanna see an aspec time, reason being is that B-Spec drivers never slip the throttle they are always 99.9% perfect in brake and throttle control

I'll try it again when i get home and sleep first.

The B-Spec driver has great throttle control, but is hopeless at braking, they have on/off braking, so when they perss the brakes, they press them fully, often going slower into a corenr than you should go, either that or overshooting the corner because it's not got good stats.

Agreed!

So far 2 cars compete with the STi... They are a bit HIGH-END but thats ok :), this goes back to my pt saying the STi is a monster :p
Check post #1 for list of these cars.

Thank you. :)

Only that car; I knew it was a ringer. ;)

Edit: Oh, and I may try my C3 Stingray.... I'm betting that it can provide a challenge. Anyone else thinkng possibly a Crossfire?

Well i dont know too much about the crossfire, they seem to be overrated though...but once again i dont know that much about them.
C3 Stingray huh, hmmm you have an intresting tactic going american muscle in this situation I like that!!

Full tune, a Crossfire can be a devastating little weapon, and with nitrous, I think it should fare well. I have one that's as aforementioned, full tune at 411 hp. I'll keep this in mind for later tonight when I get back home. ( I'm at school.) I retract the C3 statement; I'll try it, but I forgot it was with R2's that I achieved the 1'17.9

A Delorean is a very plausible option, as is a Lexus IS200. I will return again.

You only stated taht you beat it with a Shelby on Sports Mediums w/o Aids correct?

Edit: Ok Series 1 stands :)

Yeah, only the Series 1. For now. :D

I was just chatting with Specialized via: aim, he says he has a FF car in mind that "MIGHT" and he stressed "MIGHT" be able to compete.. What do ya think? What FF would it be? SRT4?
