The pushes through the esses weren't much help, but everywhere else the car was very planted.

hey now they where a lot of help you won right? lol i could see that your car was very stable and that pushing you was not a problem so i pushed everywhere i could to brake us from sassafrass, if my pushing was excessive let me know but i like to push. did i get the fastest lap? i thought i did but could not tell in your video and did not save my own

Well pushing mid-corner through the esses just made me run wide...and then I had to lift off until the car regained front grip. That was toward the end though...before that I had enough front grip to get through esses just as fast as you.

I think I had the fastest lap by 1/10th.

practice room open in my lounge don't be shy we all need practice we all can't be allen iverson

Why are you wanting to stay high profile? Are you looking for new drivers or alternates? Looks from the opening page like you have a full grid of 16 drivers. If you need alternates I'm interested.

Have you guys posted any of your practice times for GP/F yet?

I'd like to see plenty of alternates...otherwise we'll end up with 5 drivers by the 3rd race.

If you want alternates you should start an alternate driver list under the normal driver list. And maybe append to the OP some information/guidelines/rules for alternates.

1. How would an alternate get in a race? Could they wait until 30 minutes into practice on race day and if there is a no show enter practice, but agree to drop out if a regular logs in? Or is it on invite only -- i.e you are off unless invited and someone else can't make it that week and notifies ahead of time or retires from series.

2. Do alternates pick a car or just have to jump in a car that is idle that week... It's going to be hard to practice if you don't know which car is going to be required, but I guess there are 15 cars X 2 so that's 30 cars which should be enough for alternates to choose ahead of time. Team championships might work better if you have alternates fill in empty car spots.

3. Are alternates allowed in the non race day practice sessions.

4. How are the alternates ranked and chosen for any race. I would imagine the initial list is first come first serve and you get an alternate ranking... but if an alternate is no show in week #1 and alternate #2 fills in does he move to top of list for the next week? etc.

Anyway, I'd like to be an alternate and I would pick the Honda TAKATA DOME NSX ‘06, but would like to know the ground rules for alternates. If this information is in the thread somewhere I apologize and must have missed it.

i'm glad to say that we have a great base of guys that will be there, no matter if we lose new guys we can fill there spots with very talented drivers. most of us drive in other series and have great friends that can step in if needed, but alt. drivers maybe something we should look at just to ensure that we do have a full grid every week.

I think we should have an alternate list. Our drivers would need to post on this thread and let us know that they aren't going to make the race. Then we can go to the alternate list. If we don't have alternate we will definitely end up with 5 or 6 drivers. Unfortunately people lose interest if they fall in the championship.

Yes, please!!! :D If there's going to be a alternate driver list i would like to be on it.

Thanks

New car choices have been updated. I'm ok with running alternates, as long as they've been apart of practices with no issues of conduct. The list will be composed on a first come first serve basis, however involvement in practices will become a factor if the guys on top are never seen.

Would everyone be able to confirm if they can make it to the next race by midnight EST monday? We would just start a confirm list every sunday, and everyone would copy/paste it, add their name and post it. This way, by 10pm my time on mondays, i'll have time to notify the reserve drivers that they'll be needed next race.

Whats everyone's thoughts on what car they use? Personally i think it would be good if the reserves used the car of a driver that couldn't make it. If we have a team championship, their points would go towards that team as well as their own drivers championship.

If this was the case, should we have reserve drivers based on platform? Or expect them to have a tune for each chassis?

I don't have time right now, but if someone wanted to scan through the thread and compose a reserve driver list that would be great. I'll PM them all later to let them know to watch the thread with details. I believe the first will be "toyotasupra" from like page 3.

I plan to make all the races (unless i am without power this tuesday). I will stick with the NSX. My tune is starting to come together and it might not be quick on all the courses but it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Im pretty good at staying on the track so at the very least i should place above those who like to mow the grass.

Stop talking about me, lol. I'm much more confident in the GT-R now, so lets hope i stay off the green this week.

Anyone interested in practice tomorrow right after the F1 race?

Thanks for putting me on the reserve list. While I'm a reserve I don't really care which car as long as there is enough time to tune it, break it in (assuming I haven't already) and do a little practice on the track. Or better yet if someone just shares the tune. Most of the tunes on my cars currently are for offline WRS time trials so probably need serious tweaking.

I'll send out some friend requests to those on the drivers list so I can join in some practices (assuming there is room). 👍

Just did some testing at Nurb GP/F in the NSX. On RM tires i am able to hit 1:56 flat, but a couple of times i was 4/10ths up on that and couldnt close the deal. Lap times drop pretty fast though so i only get 4 or 5 good laps per set of tires.

I'd like to join, if you guys have a spot open up.

I tested the Lexus PETRONAS TOM’S SC430 ‘08 at GP/F tonight and was able to consistently run mid 1'57 to low 1'58's (with a few 1'57.1's) but I didn't see a single 1'56. I'd say a mid 1'56 is possible if I run a flawless lap, but not sure I could do a 1'56 flat with that car/tune and the restrictions. I can get about 5-6 decent laps in the 1'57-1'58 range and then the tires drop off to the 1'59-2'00 range for another 4-5 laps before they fall off the cliff.

I also tested the Takota Dome NSX (with an offline tune setup for time trials) and it was just a beast to handle relative to the Lexus. Yuck! I wouldn't want to drive that car with other people on the track, at least not with that tune.

I spent about an hour tuning to get from 1:58 to 1:56, mostly tweaking spring rates and camber. My fastest lap actually felt slow...i was in the process of just making the car more stable through the Schumaker S when i dropped the fastest lap.

I also worked on Deep Forest but that track just doesnt like the NSX. I got a few 1:10s but mostly 1:11s. I started messing with removing the turbo or trying the mid rpm...but nothing could get the car to 1:09. My friend was tuning his NSX and hit a 1:09.994...but neither of us duplicated the lap. It was just too hard to run clean fast laps back to back.

the NSX is very unstable at Deep Forest and when you do find the tune that works there your tires will hate you and they jump off that cliff rather quickly. don't worry to much the draft really helps the NSX at Deep Forest, just don't lose the draft.

G/F = no practice yet, some issue with me passport (germany is a tough country to get into remember WW1,hitler any of this getting through) lol.... but sounds like some fast times are being logged but G/F is a special track the rewards consistent driving hit your marks and you will have a great race one mistake and there's always next week

there is a reserve list i suggest you sign up
I didn't want to sign up without GTRedline accepting me into his series.
Also, there's no reserve list on the front page, so you'll understand that I didn't want to read through 230+ posts. Thanks though.

It's good to see interest in our little series. All of the reserve drivers do need to come practice with us at some point. Whether its in a pre-season race or in a weekly practice that we hold in our lobbies. So feel free to send out a friends invite to me, lucky, or redline on PSN. If you have one of us on your friends list, you'll be able to to join or weekly practice sessions. I think all of our PSN names are under our avatar.

I think all of the regular drivers will have their car situation figured out by this Tuesday's race. At that point I would say the reserve drivers would follow the 2 drivers per car rule and get in whatever is available to their liking.

A quick message to the reserve drivers: practice online and use all three cars. Figure out what track we're going to be at and just prepare yourself. Read and understand the rules, I can't stress this one enough. We're looking for clean drivers that want to finish an hour long race. There will probably be small amounts of contact and you will probably have solo incidents, that doesn't mean you pack up your Barbie's and go home. We're looking for guys that are going to keep digging and finish. We all want to throw our wheels (or controllers) out the window sometimes.

I would really love it everyone really tries to follow the blend line rule on pit exit this week. Also maybe in practice we should all try some standing starts so we all have a good idea of braking points. Whether your in the front or the back of the pack.

well i found out that my connection will hold a full room for a entire race as i hosted a 16 driver series race without any problems. last week i was nervous about my connection and was thinking about it all race (more nervous then race). so this week i will be completely focused on the race and not on my internet.
still trying to get through customs so i can practice for this weeks race...lol

A few 2 or 3 lap races prior to qualifying would help drivers get a feel for the race start. Turn 1 is very different on cold tires at lower speeds. You are running a fine line between losing a few 10ths to the leader or ending up in the grass losing 5-10 seconds. Decide how much risk you want to take and remember to respect qualifying. What good is it to get around the car ahead of you when he qualified faster? Chances are, he'll just get around you on the next turn.

Divebombing, when done properly, is an effective passing tactic to get around one car. However, if you do it at the start of the race, you'll end up taking out a car further ahead when you understeer and miss your turn in point. Everyone, the race leader included, will take the first turn slow, so be prepared to coast into the turn and modulate your braking to ride the bumper of the car ahead of you. They almost always will brake early to avoid hitting the car ahead of them...and by the time you get 5 cars back, the brake zone can often be well before the first brake marker.
