i put some practice in with my ARTA NSX last night. I did Deep Forest since I missed the race the other night. Best I can do is a high 1:11 on RM tires. I'd love to have a ghost replay to follow to see where its losing time. There are several turns where I can't run full throttle so I'd appreciate some help tuning.

Aero -- should I max it for a track like DF?
Turbo/Engine Stage 3 -- which turbo works best in these cars, and should i install the stage 3 engine mod?
LSD -- no idea where to start on a car with this amount of power
Suspension -- I upped the camber which helped, but not sure about springs and dampers

DEFINITELY Max your Aero.

DEFINITELY use Stage 3 Turbo AND Stage 3 Engine Mod.

Springs and dampers won't be as important as Swaybars, Toe and Camber. Obviously we've all go our own preferences, so I'd recommend just trying things and seeing what feels good. Be careful adding too much rear bar...

Also your trans settings are going to be very important when trying to get a fast time.
 
Yeah, I gained a second already by dropping the transmission top speed to something closer to the speeds i was hitting on the straights. It made the car a little unstable in the lower gears so I need to mess with individual ratios to reduce wheel spin in 2nd...but that could also have been the LSD causing problems.

I think on my next session I'm going to drop the damper settings. they were at 8/8,8/8 by default and it seems a bit stiff through some of the bumpy sections of the track, including when i put the inside tire into the dirt on the final turn.
 
I run my dampers around 5 or 6, and a little more sway in the front. Downforce depends on track, but deep forest was maxed. I run lots of front camber and very little rear. My first and second gears are pretty long, third through sixth are very tight. Lots of practice, slow in, fast out!
 
just so people don't get confused iamsupernasty is not in this series but trust me if he is giving advice to might want to try out what he has said . and just logged in to gt5 and will start testing cars will post times soon
 
Maybe we should some testing sessions for the cars at different tracks how's that for an idea?

I usually only test on the next track I'm racing at as I run a different setup per track. I might start some regular testing on Monday nights if anyone is interested. Otherwise use this thread to make plans or see who wants to join you for practice.

sorry p_o_p_e no chance i already driving that nsx in another series and yes i am very competitive and fighting for the lead each week!
 
What was the placement and car choice from tuesday's race? I think I need to drive one of these quote-unquote better cars to know what needs to be done to the NSX.
 
well i was running against a GT-R yes a driver from our series so no bias and the NSX was 00.060 seconds slower without any tuning on either car
now i drove my GT-R and i was a little faster but the difference is the GT-R is faster in the corners but the speed of the NSX makes up for that on the straights

I ran a 1:22.XXX with the identical set-up that I used at Deep Forest...I'm guessin' I'm a sec or 2 off?

1:22:xxx thats pretty fast but i have been told (nobody in this series told me) that i should keep my times to myself would not want to discourage any new drivers

1:07:xxx on soft tires
happy hunting boys i know these are (slow) times for our pro field so i hope to see some quicker times posted soon

I also allowed two drivers to take the raybring last minute before the race. I've never been in a series that didn't loose drivers after a week or two.

While there's no slots left open, practice up with the NSX and add me on PSN. If there's someone missing before qualifying i'll tell you to jump in. Best i can do for now.

Edit: type of model NSX I will be using the Raybrig NSX for practices if thats okay?

I did some more practice on Deep Forest last night trying to figure out how you guys were getting 1:08.xxx on RM tires.

I went with the high-rpm turbo and stage 3 engine on the ARTA NSX. Then I added 50kg of ballast to the front so it weight the same as the other cars. I figured it would help with turn-in too. 40/60 areo (dialed the rear down to get better high-speed rotation). Softened the suspension and lowered the LSD settings. Tweaked the transmission and kept the rpms a little lower to make use of the torque (running between 5800-6500 rpm). That was enough to get me down to 1:10.4. I know where to find a few more 10ths but consistency in the car is my biggest barrier. When I try to use more throttle exiting turns, I just spin out.

I guess I'll switch to Laguna now since that's where we are racing next. What's my target lap time? 1:22.xxx? BTW, I really appreciate having lap times to shoot for. Otherwise I'm just driving blind.

i think i might have been the only driver that ran a 1:08:xxx on med. tires although i could be mistaken. and it sounds like you are doing the right things with the NSX try putting some toe in the rear end it will really help the spinning problem
 
Positive toe or negative? I think I have it set at +.15 but I could go higher.
 
Best I did at deep forest with the NSX was 1:10.0xx

Laguna should tip in our favor though. Much faster track.
 
The NSX responds very well to LSD adjustments. Definitely is a little difficult to put power down without the right settings... I'm tempted to run my Arta around Deep Forest and see what's up...

Ok, that's more refreshing...I think I could pull off a 1:10 flat if I cleaned up my line a bit, but I was pushing hard for 1:08 and ended up with mostly 1:11s. Anyway, gonna switch over to Laguna for my next practice session.
 
When are hosting a practice session? Tomorrow would be good.

1:10 on medium tires at Deep Forest is good, best time in the race on mediums from any car was 1:10.4**. There may have been some faster during qualifying, but doing it then and doing it in the race is two different things. ;)
