I like using the mic during setup, if during qualifying I notice someone is on the wrong tires I have to get them off before they set a time. And it takes too much of my time to type during qualifying. So how about no mics when qualifying starts, and I'll turn mine off just before the race.

Everyone might already know this but i thought i would point it out. The exit of pit lane at Laguna spits you out right in the middle of the track. So, just a heads up if you see someone coming out of the pits, give them and yourself plenty of room.

Its best to cock your wheel to the left as you exit. If you hold it straight with your foot on the gas you will end up in the dirt on the other side of the track.

Also, you may want to perfect your pit entry speed during practice...otherwise if you take it too fast on bald tires you will get stuck.

It doesn't matter if your on the gas or not. It puts you right in the middle of the track either way. I think if you yank it to the left your risking a spin or something. As long as everyone is aware i think we'll be fine. And yes, definitely have to slow way down for pit entry.

Ugg, all that practice and i get booted after 14 laps. I was running 4th too. They really need to fix these connection issues.

Race start looked pretty clean from 6th on the grid. First two laps i just followed the cars ahead of me to see what was going to happen. I got around one car and was running 5th when all hell broke loose at the entrance to the corkscrew. I was too far back to see what happened but i was able to squeeze through and run 2nd for a few laps but the car in first was running a very slow protective line. I went wide on turn one and got a good run on exit to get into first. That lasted for maybe 3 or 4 laps until the Mercs caught back up. They passed me like i was standing still. My front tires were wearing fast. By lap 13 i dropped to 3rd so i went into the pits to change tires and protect my position. I was down about 10 seconds and losing time every lap. I came out of the pits, made it to turn 6 and then got booted. Ugh.

Well one thing i did learn...gotta adjust my tune for better tire wear. I saw the lead car was on lap 21 on the original tires with more than half tread.

It seemed a few people were having connection problems...maybe disabling mics would have helped??

well we just had a preseason race and only one or two people have posted since this thread needs more exposure so please post your comments about the race and let's keep this series in the front of peoples minds so we attract more drivers.

P_O_P_E needs some work on turn 5. I saw him in the dirt several times in practice and at least once during the race. That's one turn my NSX didn't have trouble with...until I ran out of tire. Perhaps the reason I wasn't having issues with my rear end was because I dialed out the oversteer too much and was understeering the whole time.

great race last nite guys...had fun although i disconnected on lap 25...wasnt running in the front but didnt have any problems with anyone and barely took any damage the whole race except for one little incident at the cork screw lol....i hope next weeks race is as fun and clean as this one....anyone hosting practice sessions let me know i could use as much practice as i can get

Lol...What am I? Chopped liver?

I'll add you tomorrow buddy!

Not sure if I can keep doing this series, feel like death on the Wednesday... but we'll see how it goes.
The race was way more eventful than Deep Forest, took me ages to recover from my **** up on lap 2, sorry if anyone got caught up in the aftermath!
Had a lot of fun battling with Lucky the whole race, we both pulled some tidy passes, looking forward to next week.

Are people still having trouble with the NSX?

A few things to disscuss;

I made a fool of myself on track last night. I didn't spend much time practicing and failed to realize just how much you guys did. I also made a mistake in car choice, anyone who has raced with me before will tell you that i'm not "that bad." I did my best to stay out of everyones way, usually on straits as there's not always room for two lines through a corner. I was a miserable 6 laps behind after an hour, and was passed 30-40 times. That many passes, and as bad a race as i was having equaled a few incidents that has upset some racers. For that i apologize.

Because of all the disconnects last night and last week we're going to switch the host to a hardwired user. Both Sassafrass and myself use wireless connections, and while that might not be the problem its something we can eliminate. Luckylefty has offered his services. Thanks Lucky! The race will still be held in my private lobby, however we'll have to make sure Lucky is at the top. Either he'll show up early, or when he shows we'll all leave and re-enter.

Also, we're going to disable mics for the race. I think everyone is capable of making sure their on the right tires for the race, so i don't see any reason for me to keep this enabled. Lets hope these two changes keep everyone connected.

And resulting from last nights race and disscussions with Sassafrass I'm making the following changes to the series.

New lapped/retiring car rule. Once you have been lapped 3 times by the leader you are forced to retire from the race. To retire, finish your current lap and enter the pits. Once you enter the pits press the start button. You will now remain in the pits. Please type "Retired" on the message board before leaving the track. Do Not Park anywhere but in the pits. No matter how off the line, or off the track you are, you're still a distraction to other racers. Also if your having a horrible race, like i was last night, you may retire yourself. Again, enter the pits, press start, and type "Retired" on the message board. No explaination requried until after the race. Reading and racing is another distraction.

Car Selection Re-Opened. Anyone wishing to change cars may do so between now and next tuesdays race. After our final pre-season race everyones car choice will be locked in. Max of 2 racers per car. Depending on how everyone chooses, we may still have a second points championship. Either manufactures, based on averages, or teams, based on those using the same car. No one will be forced to join a team if we do a team championship.

Me,jav,Owens, atlas, and jepoks from the FIA league all used to run in a gt 500 league that ended about 2 months ago...we could always post.something in there to see if anyone wants to join

I do know that Greest lightning would like to switch to the xanavi gt-r. He asked me to post this for him since he can't get to a computer til 7pm.

For now we have 16 signed up and everyone has at showed up or tried joining at least one of our pre-season races. Now that everyone can have the car they want, and we're working on our connection issues i expect a good turn out next week.

Now to decide what GTR to drive. I did a lot of testing on GP/F, and i think i was around 1.56:xx on RS.

Is there a reserve driver list for this series? If so, i would like to be on it. Whenever there's a spot open on the grid and the lobby approves, i will join. Maybe work my way into a permanent spot.

I'd also like to be on a reserve list if there is going to be one. I'm not picky about which car, so if I can fill in for anyone let me know.

Thanks

i like the two people per car rule then everyone gets what they wants and greest can finally have my car w /o me switching lol

👍

Um...11 PM, that's why I barely made qualifying last night. Thank's fer puttin' a word in for me Sass.

That would be yes, I'd like to change to the '08 Xanavi. I do so with some reservations though, as I cut some pretty fast times with the Motul while practicing for the races. I know it didn't look like it last night, but that was because my dumb #&% didn't set the top speed...never got into 6th gear. Glad it was practice!

Stone...now you can stop worrying about me stealing your car...;)

Calum...looking forward to your invite...I wanna keep an eye on you...;)

I got a couple Motul GT-R's (one stage 3, one turboed) to get rid of if anybody's interested. Can't sell 'em, and I'd rather gift them than scrap them. Lemme know...:)

I might just stick with the NSX just for the hell of it. I'll try out another car first before making my decision.

Is the race going to start at 11:00 next time? I know people were having connection issues, but I really need to be done by 12:00ish.

I'm fine with starting at 11, however I think some of our west coasters are making it just in time for an 11 qualifying. Anyone unable to make it to qualifying if it was 10:50 EST?

all are good ideas, and the drivers that have raced with you previously all know you are a very capable driver no worries man get in a stable car and kick some 🤬

Hope you guys are right about the connection. Still think its "THE MAN". He wants us to fail sometimes. All about control. Keepin us in line... Nice race though. Great driving everybody.

If you are just.giving them away ill take one :)

hey guys now that we have made the move to a hard wired connection i think it would be best to test our connectivity. so if people can agree on a time and day we all could be available to join for a short (10 lap) race that would help to find out if this will fix our d/c problem.
