Hello and welcome to my Garage, it's a small place and caters to the racers who race and grind on the WTC700 30 minute race at Le Mans.
I will be posting the cars and the setups I use to get the best out of the 30 minutes here.

The basic strategy that i go by in this race is to hit pit road at the end of lap 3, almost all AI pit at end of lap 3 and usually with the cars described in future posts you should have a good lead not to lose position during pitting. Pit road time is usually 32-50 seconds long at this track depending if you get tyres and fuel.

Pay attention to the weather radar at maximum distance close to the end of lap 2 so you can get a good idea if you will have good weather or heavy and therefore adjust your pit schedule for WET tyres, if the rain meter gets half full it is strongly suggested to change to WETS as soon af you can. The weather is random and adjust accordingly.

Basic equipment for all the cars are as follows:
RH TYRES
WET TYRES
BALLAST
POWER REDUCER
FULL RACING SUSPENSION
FULL LSD
RACING TRANSMISSION (Manual transmission optional)
FULL ECU
other parts for certain cars will be noted individually.

Any questions and/or requests will be answered to the best of my ability.
Please enjoy.

I've been grinding this with the Ford GT40 with a funky setup for F/R Downforce, a backwards lean (higher front than back). I'm not the best tuner so maybe you can do something with that?

I tried it out of curiosity, indeed a good promising car for Le Mans. Good fuel consumption, fast, and great looks, normal it's a French car! (sorry for the google translate)
yeah, i did4:03 lap with it being maxed with high-end turbo.

This Ford will drink fuel and to be able to make it last for three laps is to put FM to 6, although this does decrease the overall speed it still can get and hold the lead by the pit stop at end of lap three. If and when you need to change over to WETS, top off on the fuel just to maintain the ability to run 3 laps before refilling.

With the newer updates 1.25 and up, the WTC700 @ Le Mans has changed in the strategy you will need to pit at the end of lap 2 because of impending rain, it's no longer you may get rain it is you will get rain and heavy rain.
Being this the case you might want to go at fuel map one and get a good lead ahead of everybody else pit for wet tires not intermediates and a full tank and then drop to fuel map six, you may still need to put later on for a splash of fuel but you will definitely have enough time.

I do this race at least a couple of times a day. Lately, I've been running the 1984 Ferrari GTO. It's fast but not the greatest for fuel mileage but easily doable until you get trapped on a rainy circuit unintentionally, on Race Hards. At that point it's a bit skittish. Its light, with no downforce.

Another really good choice it the Lambo Murcielago. If and when you do get into the unintentional wet zone with the Race Hards, that 4 wheel drive allows you to move in the deep water while Portilla, Blazsan, and McEwen are floundering and flubbing. Meanwhile you have the capability to get into the pits for Wets.
The Murcielago is fast, up to 190 mph on straights which easily gets you out front on the first lap. I used Praiano63's tune for the Lambo, and almost all my cars, including the GTO Ferrari. The Lambo will do 3 laps including the heavy fuel consumption of the first passing lap to get out in front. I find that if I can get 40 seconds in front then I can pit for fuel and or tires, and depart, still in front.

I have found that keeping the weather radar on 50 miles gives me some advance warning as to what is coming and more importantly, how much is coming, and when it's coming. The A.I. don't seem to use this, or know how to use this and that is why the faster trio mentioned above will often end up giving up half a lap. There appears to be a real reluctance of the A.I. to change from Race Hards to any kind of rain tires, and if they do, it is to get Intermediates.

Another fact is that Portilla and crew will usually pit on lap 6 for fuel. This can give you another 30 seconds in the bank if needed. Just make sure that you have enough fuel to carry on without pitting on lap 6, or 35 seconds ahead if you must have more fuel.

Having used weather radar my whole life as an airline pilot, it is very easy for me, and I recommend that everyone use it to figure it out and give yourself an edge in tactical racing. That is really what this race is all about. The fast A.I. guys rarely go over 160 mph. They are hauling around all that drag producing downforce of their Gr.4 machinery. We, are not! Hope this helps.
Cheers, Pete

This is exactly how and why I use this, with it set to max range i can tell when in the third lap i will see the rain and if i see a large spot coming i can guess that i will not be able to "ride it out" with RH tyres and will have to swap out to WETS .
I've been lucky to see the storms come in and it's in pieces and or they're are holes in the storm, that gives me the chance to stay on RH for longer but if the rain meter gets half full or more you have to put on WETS.

That weather map is a huge benefit, although I almost never go to Wets at Sarthe. The duration and intensity of the rain seems to vary wildly, so I go IM’s at Lap 2 or 3, run them for 2-3 laps according to the radar and finish off with RH’s.

This Mercedes is the best handling car on this track, but at a cost of power that I had to cut as I detuned this to be legit under 700PP. I put in a fully custom manual transmission to lower the PP. I also adjusted the LSD for handling.

Enjoy.

Does it pay to de-tune faster cars VS using a Gr.3 car? High downforce GT1 style cars with limited power vs more powerful less grippy cars. I don't have any issues winning, unless I accidentally press "don't refuel" and gotta do half a lap at 50mph. The Huricán GT3 is my Le Mans workhorse. I manage a solid 4:18 or so with FM on setting #3 but skills aren't top notch. Being 30 min anyway, time isn't saved by being faster. Though I will sit for 1 minute or so by the start line ready to cross it when the clock gets to zero.

It is true indeed.
But sometimes faster you are more chances to finish exactly at 30 minutes you have waiting at the starting line. It's not an every race like that but can be.

Otherwise 4:18 is still a good enough time for most cases.
But 4:03 feels better :D

I'll give my new CLK LM a go with the tuning provided and see. A 4:03 would be great. Figuring I max out around 167mph on the Mulsanne, a 200 mph build seems tempting. A steady ride through the Porsche curves is a must have.
