can anybody help me on the ring gp time trial?

All i know is people say its hard, and you need a wheel.

well i beat monza and with a ds3 but the gp is killing me

I'm stuck on this one too. I just came within .785 of a bronze. I had to use driving gloves for these challenges because my rubber wheel was chaffing my hands:crazy:

what's your sector and lap times? get those so you'll have a pretty rough idea on which parts you're lacking.

Make sure skid control is turned on, Tc set to 1, abs set to 1, asm set to off and steering correction set to off. These worked for me.
Start off slow, don't use curbs too much, you will be faster if you keep it on the circuit. You can then build up your speed. It's not impossible to do it, but expect a good couple if hours depending on how good you are.

I do it with all aids off except for SR: on and ABS: 10.

Also, don't go for long hours doing the same thing over and over again, you'll just keep getting frustrated and keep getting worse as you go on. Do something else and come back to these challenges every once in a while.

Currently missing golds on Nurburgring and Suzuka by less than .5xx secs... I'll come back to it once my B-Spec has done some races.

This is what I had for aids when I completed it.

I was in 1st through turn 1, 2nd into 3rd back down to first for the approach to the S. Then into 2nd as I came through the S toward turn 6, which I took in 3rd. Up to 4th then quickly back down to 2nd for turn 7.

Full speed through the Schumacher S up to 6th, then back down to 2nd for turn 11, Khumo. Up to 4th and then I left it in 3rd around turn 12 trying to make sure I got the curbing without spinning on the way down the back stretch. Watch your breaking point for the chicane, and make sure you go through it slower than you think. Coming out faster always led to a better lap for me.

Then work on cutting the last corner toward the finish line, I was usually in first, but the shift up to 2nd was very fast as soon as I hit the apex. As you finish your first lap figure out your breaking point for turn 1.

I was coming in hot a lot. I would break as soon as I saw the green turf on the right side of the track.

Hope this helps.

These are from my experience and I'm not really sure if these are actually useful for anyone else:

Nurburgring:
1. Brake very late into 1st corner, use all of the outside but make sure 2 wheels are on the track as u exit.
2. Turn 4 is flat-out, use the outside but remember to keep 2 wheels on the track as you exit.
3. Don't brake too hard for turn 7 (Ford Kurve), lifting is fine.
4. Brake as late as possible into turn 8 (Dunlop), the brown/beige outside runoff strip is your cue to start braking, then accelerate very early while ur still turning.
5. Go flat-out through Schumacher S, brake very late into the next corner.

Monza:
1. It's already obvious for this one, cut the first and second chicanes.
2. Lift slightly for Lesmo 1, don't need to brake.
3. Brake a little bit and turn at the same time for Lesmo 2, don't lose any momentum here.
4. Brake very late for Variante Ascari and do not use the brakes again for this complex, go flat out for the 2nd and 3rd part of this complex (I know it's scary)
5. Brake very late for the Parabolica, look at the left, where the runoff area ends is where you should start to brake, accelerate again as early as possible, don't go full-lock with the steering or else you will find yourself needing to correct it which is not smart for this corner.

Suzuka:
1. Don't brake for turn 1 until at least halfway between turn 1 and turn 2 (this is what F1 drivers do, but you can brake a little later)
2. No braking for the S turns.
3. Half-way through turn 6 (Gyaku Bank), accelerate and don't let go of the throttle through the long turn 7 (Dunlop), step on it as soon as possible (sometimes you can accelerate instantly after turning into turn 6)
4. Brake only the slightest amount for Degner 1, brake and turn in a bit early for Degner 2, don't assume the outside of Degner 2 (under the bridge) has a lot of run-off area, it slows you down if you use too much of it.
5. Brake very late for the hairpin, you should brake and turn the wheel to left (full-lock) at the same time, as soon as you see the car is at full lock, accelerate instantly.
6. Brake very late for spoon 1, don't lift the throttle if possible for spoon 2.
7. Obvious: Flat-out at 130R and brake as late as possible for the final Casio Triangle chicane.

For Nurburgring and Suzuka, don't be afraid to turn the wheel more than you think you can, this thing flies through the corners as long as you have the speed to maintain the downforce.

You actually don't need to brake for Degner 1 (I never did and golded it), just a quick lift stabilises the car great, infact it can be taken flat but the chance of going wrong for any tiny gain is not worth it.

you have balls, might give that a go later lol thx

thanks everyone hopefully this helps

what were your sector times and lap times for suzuka and the ring gp?

I managed to achieve both bronze at Germany & Suzuka & gold at Monza all in the space of 1 hour. :)

congrats you wanna cookie i asked for help not for you to come in and brag

Cookie, yum. Can I have choc chip please. 👍

Besides, I was not bragging. I was just stating that it is possible depending on the hardware you are using. You will need a wheel to achieve these times, so dont even bother attempting these with a controller.

You don't need a wheel to get bronzes, I haven't heard of anyone golding them with a controller but I have heard people bronzing them.

One thing that really helped me with these challenges was not being scared of the car. You have to drive it like you stole it through the slower stuff, get on the power early, and brake late. With the X1 you can brake and steer at the same time.

+1 I'm usually at the top of 5th gear or in the middle of 6th gear while kissing the apex on Degner 1

yep, you don't need to. just lift plus a little corner cutting on degner1 (to take advantage of a little camber gain on degner1).

what were your sector times and lap times for suzuka and the ring gp?
my sector 1&2 times in suzuka
Suzuka:
Sector1: 30.5xx (L1) and 28.7xx(L2)
Sector2: 55.5xx (L1) and 53.7xx(L2)

Suzuka:
Sector1: 30.5xx (L1) and 28.7xx(L2)
Sector2: 55.5xx (L1) and 53.7xx(L2)

That seems much slower compared to the times I get.
S1L1: 27.8xx
S2L1: 52.7xx

S1L2: 26.8xx
S2L2: 52.3xx

I've got plenty of room for improvement, I'm off gold on Suzuka by .4xx

Nice post there, and good input from others.

I only opened the X1 challenge yesterday and I just had time for a few goes, I chose Monza and I was pleased just to complete my first lap. With a DS3 I see this is going to be a whole new learning experience.. in fact I might even start Bspec to give myself a rest between attempts.

My initial impression is difficulty with slight/subtle amounts of steering. I kept thinking it would be nice to turn down the sensitivity but that option does not exist. Fun times ahead....

Thanks for the Tips everyone 👍

This is by far the most difficult and frustrating challenge i've ever tried .

Gave up for a while bit i've got a 8 day Break coming soon so going for another try at .

i did yesturday 4h monza to get bronze:S with ds3 controller.its haaaaaaaaaard.started with nürburgring gp but dit that 2h and 4 sec missed til bronze.can anybody tell me what kind of x1 u will get for bronzes ? painteble or with livery ?

You get the Red Bull S.Vettel livery for bronze, there is no paintable X1's at all.

That X1 I think is the one you get at B Spec 35 which is the one I want. As someone said when its unlocked at A Spec Level 40 you can choose the colour. There's a video on Youtube showing it.

B spec lvl 35 is Red Bull S.Vettel livery version also. Get Silver in the X1 challenge and you get the coloured version of the X1. But none of these (including the Carbon X1 for getting gold) is paintable. Only the dealer model can you choose the colour you want (level 40 +20 million credits) but you can't paint it after you buy it.

I have all three types and checked myself.

yeah.. my times are only bronze times.. :guilty:
