Just unlocked the challenge but has any one even managed to do it with a DS3 and what setup/techniques did you use?

Tnankyou!

I did.
Not everything gold but I'm working on it. However I think it's near impossible to do since you can't oversteer with a DS3 -.-'..

Skid Recovery: on
ABS: 1
Everything else: off

...while you have...

Fix'd.

Start with Monza. Easiest of the three to at least bronze and it will let you get settled with it before you try the other 2.

The technique was to stay up until 1am saying this is my last go at this but I did it eventually ,my settings were the normal that I use:
Auto gears
TC on 5
ASM off
Skid recovery off
Abs on 1

it takes a while to get up to speed with the car I was doing the first one at the Nurburgring and got to the Schumacher S and threw it off the track because I couldn't turn for the second part quick enough.

Skid recovery force on (it gives a speed boost around corners)
Traction control off (it slows you down in corners, even at 1, wheelspin in the beginning is won again in 2 turns)
Everything else off,
except ABS = 1

Bronzed it all in 3 hours and a half from getting to level 30 while using the same settings as Ricardinho_89 + TCS at 5 ..
Its insanely hard at first and driving the X1 requires an extremely different technique compared to any other car in the game..
but in any case, I don't think its possible with the d-pad. Only with the left analog stick ..
NOT thinking about silver or gold at the moment, maybe later. MUCH later.

I just started today.

I've gotten bronze on Monza and am currently trying Nurburgring. My best time is 2.5 seconds behind bronze... I think I'll get there with some more practice.

I used:

Skid Recovery: On
TCS: 0
ABS: 1
Driving Line: On... :D

I got silver on monza and bronze on both suzuka and nurburg originally. But after doing the suzuka1000 km in the x1 i got silver first shot when i re-tried the suzuka challenge so now all i gotta do is find 3 seconds on nurburg.

the X1 with a DS3 is a pain in the Ass!

I really don´t enjoy to drive this thing, I rather get back in my Gallardo ;)

I did 3 bronzes with the d-pad and could probably get silver on Monza if I tried hard enough. Took a LOT of restarts, but it CAN be done with enough practice. These are the settings I used:

TCS: 0
ABS: 1
Skid Recovery: On

I've got bronze on Monza and I'm a second off the pace on Nurburgring (haven't tried Suzuka yet) but I've gave up for now, the trial and error element is annoying me so I'll wait until I get the X2010 from reaching B-Spec level 35 then put in some serious practice with it on the 3 tracks without being disqualified for every mistake until I'm good enough to beat the challenges.

The qualification times (bronze, silver and gold) should be increased by a second or so for those using a DS3, judging by what I'm reading. PD should appreciate how difficult it is and adjust the times accordingly.

Just saying.
