I'll admit I was rather miffed when I posted earlier. Funny thing is my 360 Premium which I got in Jan 06 still works very well and that has been used far, far more than my Elite. I was playing Oblivion on it for two weeks solid, easily putting in around 100 hours!
It may be that the drive or laser or whatever failed after a long session of GTAIV but it should've lasted. Perhaps it was because my Elite was stnding up? Maybe the 360 is more likely to fail if it is vertical than horizontal?

Well, I don't own a 360, but I do know the old-style PS2's had a greater chance of getting a DRE and/or having the drive motor go bad if the console was standing up, which is why I don't leave any game system on it's side.

From,
Chris.

Ok... here's the situation.

I have a 360 and my friend does too. When I go over to his place I have to "recover my gamertag" and type in all this crap... Then when I get home and want to play my 360 I have to "recover my gamertag" again. M$ is smart and made it so it doesn't remember my info. yay...

Is there anyway to have my "gamertag'' info portable so I don't have to keep dealing with this crap?

Thanks

Make a profile on his hard drive. That's what I did when I went over to my friends house constantly for Halo 3 back in the day.

Yeah, but I'll have to start all over for my weapons and stuff in RSV2. (not that it's that big of a deal for me)

Am I blind and stupid?

This has been irritating me for ages, but I cannot find a list of what demos I have downloaded so I can play them. I remember on the old dashboard setup I could find the list easily, but I swear it's disappeared.

It's in the games section. The "tab" that looks green. Wait, did they update to the new ripoff theme already?

Have you guys heard or read about the new Dashboard that will be coming out? I just finished reading about it in OXM but I have this video that describes most of it.

A couple things I found awesome that isn't mentioned in the video above but I read in OXM are:
  • They will have a feature where you can download/import/whatever a disc onto your 360's HDD and then will be able to play said game without the disc. They say this will improve loading times by about 40%!
  • The prime time that was mentioned in the video is actually kind of a live game show(1vs100) where you can win real-life prizes (according to OXM).

Flip the switch so it isn't muted. Other then that I don't know what to tell you.

Wired or Wireless?

For the wireless one, there's apparently a power and connect button on the headset. Once it's on, press the connect button on the console (a small button next to the memory slots) and then the headset's connect button, and it should connect.

The wired one just plugs into the controller and should work right away.

Oh well... must be naff. They do break quite easily (I'm on my 3rd one).

lol, maybe you are just really hard on your stuff... Like FPS Doug? xD

I'm still on my first one for the headset. (Although it is pretty cheap and flimsy.) :p

I'm still on my first one - but yeah I agree they feel pretty flimsy.

Anyone hear any news on a new wheel for the 360? There are some new simulation games coming out, and it just seems like MS should at least be entertaining the idea. I've searched around a bit, but I know some of you may have a closer ear to the ground, as it were.

;)
