Time to research this game!

In this topic i'll be searching for hidden content inside GT PSP. For example, cars, tracks, anything I can find that may be hidden.

Let's start off with a track that wouldn't load before.

Notes about this course

Has it's own functioning replays.
Has it's own course map, but no player markers are there.

More tracks to come as I find them.

I was under the assumption that they pulled the night tracks because the PSP wasn't powerful enough for them. Color me surprised.

It takes less power to render a night track since the company takes the liberty of slacking of since things are hidden in the darkness.. I think they were to dark etc and said no go.

Awesome! So glad i found this thread! Pity Sinist3rX ain't here with us.:indiff: He has found lots of other track codes including these, there not "playable" but i know you can change that.;) I got a bunch of codes i will post later as well;)

Well what are you waiting for? Post the codes! (sarcasm)

Here are the other currently "unoperational" tracks that Sinist3rX found a few years back.;)

_C0 Route 11
_L 0x2080F440 0x00000034
_C0 Paris Rally
_L 0x2080F440 0x0000003B
_C0 Red Rock Valley
_L 0x2080F440 0x00000142
_C0 Tahiti_dirt_ps2 Forward
_L 0x2080F440 0x0000008A
_C0 pikespeak_ps2 Forward
_L 0x2080F440 0x00000144

The three tracks I posted I can confirm do work. I have tried those tracks and they didn't load anything. But I think I know what could do the trick.

Go for it! I may try and see if i can help out with this.;) I have most of the default track codes and i think i will post them in your cheat device thread.;)

Sorry to disappoint, but the tracks like Grindelwald and Red Rock Valley simply.....don't exist. But I have a theory on why the names were in the game.

It may have been possible that PD were going to recreate those tracks for GTPSP, but either:

A) The plan was considered not a very good idea,
B) The game was in "Development Hell", and work like that might've delayed it even further.

Still, it confuses me why it has the "_ps2" tag on them.

Any secret cars?

From what I can tell, the car list is identical to GT4's with some cars being replaced by the cars appearing in GTPSP. Some of the cars like the Auto Union Type C Streamline appear to be in there, but the model/data may have been cut.

Im going to try and see if i can find any secret cars.;) I have a method of searching im going to try and hope i find something.:D

Good stuff :)

Finding cars was something I didn't really search into that much so far, I only looked at the text. If you find anything let us know :)

hi xenn, you made a great work to load those secret tracks.. i have the pal and ntsc version, can you give us the correct codes to load those tracks?

i know the 0x2080F440 and 0x0080F440 codes but they don't work

Do they not work as in, they don't function, or they make the game freeze?

0x2080F440 should work as that is the main value for which track will be loaded.

If not, i'll have to get my PSP out and try to make a different code.

Edit: Actually, try 0x0080F440. The track values are only a byte. 0x2080F440 should not be needed.

You might need to show me some of your tricks, im still not an expert coder like you are but if can know alittle bit i may be able to find something.;) You are using CWcheat right?

I can say that all of those codes doesn't work with those track you run like rome, hong kong, complex string ... other like tahiti dirt route 3 work with all codes in pal and ntcs version.. i use for example :
0x0080F440 0x0000003F and it load tahiti dirt route 3
0x0080F440 0x00000032 for rome_ps2 but it freezes my psp

i use cwcheat

I know a couple of things when it comes to CWCheat. One thing to know is what code type works best for a code you find. For example...

0x01928901 0x00000100 (Example code)

To determine which code works best, you'll need to change the code type. The following common code types are...

0x01928901 0x00000XX 8-bit
0x11928901 0x000XXXX 16-bit
0x21928901 0xXXXXXXX 32-bit

The code above looks like it'll fit in the 16-bit code type, so you change the first digit after the x to a 1, making the code like this...

0x11928901 0x00000100

16-bit codes usually work for things like lap/car modifiers. But it depends on the game.

I'm currently looking for a workaround as I speak. I hope to find one soon.

Here's some cars that don't seem to be in the game

Ford Model T Tourer '15
Hyundai Click Type-R '04
Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline '37
MX-5 '05
Seems to be carried over from GT4, except for the MX-5.

Did you find the files of those cars or did you compare the full car list from GT4 to GTPSP?

At 18 seconds the bottom of the screen shows "course_spec_gt5m" what does that mean?

And there might be hidden cars since this build shows a couple manufacturers (Aston Martin, Autobianchi, Holden.) that didn't make it to the final game.
