Yahoo! Mail and Thunderbird?

How can I configure Yahoo mail and Mozilla Thunderbird to work? I dont know the Yahoo SMTP server address...

i cant find it... I wish I still had TechTV (i had it back when it was ZDTV.) Weren't the screensavers liquidated?

No, just relocated. One of the hosts quit, because he didn't want to move, but other than that, they're just moving locations of the studio.

Here's how I setup my Yahoo Mail on Thunderbird.

I says to please enter a new password on pop.mail.yahoo.com. I enter my password and it says PW sending failed, error logging in.

I thought Yahoo! used HTTP protocols... something Thunderbird doesn't support? Unless that's just the free accounts and the paid accounts give you POP/SMTP privledges?

There is an option in yahoo mail somewhere that shows you the POP/SMTP servers, or there used to be I haven't checked in the latest version.

I remember that I used to use my account with Outlook. I think later they removed that feature.

Ah, yes. Under the Mail Options you can apply for POP access. The only caveat is that you are required to sign up for "Special Offers & Promotions" first.

Did you allow your email account to be setup up via a Local Program? I did that when I set up my account on yahoo.

Do you have it as free yahoo mail? I can set it up to my sbc yahoo DSL account...
