Absolutely. I don't really think I'd need anything else.

God don't give me $55,000 for a car... But since you did....

The rest of the money? A new road atlas, insurance, wear and/or tear money, and money to put into my 2004 Sebring. :sly: --- Randy :dopey:

I AGREE! Michigan weather sucks for any cool car. I hate it here. our roads suck, our governor sucks and the weather changed every day

But our sports teams are finally good

$55,000 for a car? I have only two options.

A yellow Land Rover Defender.

Or a Volvo S60R in the dark grey.

Joey,
I had the last car in the V70R trim, it was a kick to drive year round.

I'd buy a completely stock standard R32 GT-R for $27,000 or so, then probably spend the rest on restoring/fixing up my GTS-4 Skyline (engine rebuild, repaint, suspension overhall/restore etc) and maybe do a couple of things to my R32 GTS too.

GTS-4 is looking a little worse for wear at the mo, hasn't been driven in over a year and has all sorts of problems, from suspension, coil problems (runs on five cylinders when warm), rust and generally needs a proper engine tune/rebuild. Its seen a hard 240,000km's. :(

Most recent pic, of all the clearcoat coming off the bonnet (a lot worse than this now - pretty much the entire bonnet):

So yeah, when am i getting my $55,000? ;) :D

The problem would be finding a good one at that price. 993TTs at least here and sites ive looked for go for 70k+ for the pretty good ones. Those cars have kept their value astonishingly well when you consider the price of an equivalent 996 to be cheaper

Because it's got a lot of history behind it, literally, as the last of the air-cooled Porsches.
I'd've taken this one given that $55K a month ago.
Sold for $52.5K. :(
$55K would've got me a flight up to Minnesota, a hotel room and a gorgeous dinner for the night, and then the car and a 🤬 awesome drive home with gas money! :D
There's a couple for sale close to where I live, but they have the California mark-up on them, and as you say, are going for way closer to $70K than I'm comfortable with. :grumpy:
One day though...:trouble:

I can't buy anything good for that in The Netherlands, not even a 370Z, the cheapest good car. Only car i want for that sort of money is a Renault Wind.

1991 Honda CRX SiR. Keep stock look, white but with bronze 5-spoke wheels. Throw a turbo'd K20 in it... wee!
Then do the same thing to a 1996 Prelude SRV.

R32 Skyline gts, convert the body to the gt-r and swap a VK56DE v8 from the Titan pickup. Add some parts and make it a beastly drift/track car.

Or get a MKIV supra or compleat my E.R.A. GT-40 replica

Yeah cars over there are also a tad cheaper than over here. That 993 looks beautiful, great looking unique color too. Would go great with some dark colored wheels and a polished lip. The thing about buying a 993tt to me is that 996tts are tempting since you can probably het easier power. I still think I'd go for the 993tt though, it's just a classic

Well then. I'd pay off my student loans, then... if I look hard enough, I just might pull off a Top Gear and get a used one of these...

By modifications I mean performance upgrades, not turning it into a rice bucket if that's what you were thinking...

Considering I live in New York, my view on Honda's has become riced out sub-100hp cars with a family of 12 squeezed inside. I've seen some nice ones but to me, it still isn't worth it to put all that money into a Honda when it can be used to buy an EVO, STi, Genesis Coupe, 370z, and some other really great cars for the money.

Don't be so quick so assume things buddy and to me it's worth the money. Once some good money is put into one it has the potential to be very quick and a hell of a lot more fun to drive than most.

With $55,000 I could do a LOT to my '04 Mach 1. But, supposing I didn't have the Mach 1...

A Dodge Viper GTS can be had for around $35K these days (at least, I've seen a few on eBay with 'Buy It Now' priced around $35K), so, start with a GTS, then take the remaining $20K and overhaul the engine, transmission, and rear diff, and get by with a "paltry" 450 hp. If that didn't eat up the remaining budget then I could do a few power-adding mods. Probably get my butt kicked by the Factory Five Mark 4 Roadster that Driving Park posted :D

Barring that? Go buy a 2011 Kawasaki ZX-14 for $13K, spend $10K building the engine internals and transmission internals, buy an $8K Stage 3 turbo kit from Mr. Turbo turbo systems and have a 566-lb motorcycle with a 1352cc inline-4 that's belting out 500 hp
Then, use the rest of the cash to go tour the country on a bike that's got a nearly 1:1 power-weight ratio. If I strip some weight off the bike I probably could achieve that 1:1 ratio, until I got on the bike that is :dopey:
