When you actually flinh when you hit a wall while playing GT3. Or when you start to freak out and get road rage once somebody passes and cuts you off! Then you have been playing 2 much!

I tried to drift our Toyota Carina around a roundabout two days ago. My other half was slamming her foot down onto the invisible 'passenger brake' she thinks is in the car, while all the time she held onto the handle above the door for hanging jackets on.

Rule 1 of driving with the girlfriend - don't drive like you do when you're alone or with mates.

- you play for 5 hours, go to bed, and then dream of playing as you sleep for the next 8 hours
- you spend hours logged onto websites discussing playing GT3 - in addition to the hours you spend actually playing the game
- when driving on the road you look for monkeys in overhanging trees
- you forget about indicating to change lanes
- 'just one more lap' becomes a personal mantra
- you start referring to Porsches as RUFs
- you're in your road car and start thing 'if I just stiffen the front springs, lower the ride height and adjust the anti-roll bar, I should be able to kill the understeer'

Yep. Thats all me. :D

hers a good way to know if your playing too much........

If you get invited to one of your bestfriends parties but you make up an excuse to stay home and play GT3!!!!!!

a couple from personal experience:
-you see a Toyota Corolla on the road and think, "Hey, that's an Altezza!" and go on and remember how much horsepower you have in your GT3 Altezza, what you did to fix the oversteer, how much the racing flywheel cost...
-you search everywhere for ways to fix oversteer (personally, i found some answers in the appendix of the Viper Racing manual)
-"winter driving" becomes "rally driving"
-your friends hold on when you take wide left turns in the city because you take them at 30+ mph
-you see a Lancer and actually wonder about the Roman numeral
-other driving games just aren't worth it anymore (anyone tried playing Cruisin USA in the arcade after a solid week of GT3? it's impossible)
-you look for paddle shifters on your real car
-you don't find them, so you make some
-you pay some guy $250 to change your oil every week
-you apex off ramps
-you wind up in a ditch and explain to your family, "I only have 300 days of driving experience, I'm not perfect yet."
-your dream car no longer costs more than your house--but the "tuneups" do
-you downshift and pass an RX-7 just because that's the one car you can't f:censored:ing pass in a race in GT3
-you can no longer bring yourself to consider Nascar as "racing"...and consequently can't find any racing to watch on TV

//edit
and i was leaning into turns in GT3 from day 1

... when there's a little dent in the carpet where you always sit while playing, but at no other time is that area on the carpet used.

... when you spent so long on the PD series that you go to do the Formula Cup and the speed sensation sends you behind the sofa cowering.

... when you start to wonder when GTConcept will be out even though you know it's going to be two years, and that's before all the delays.

... when people don't tell you they have a PS2 because they're scared you'll want to race them.

... when you don't care about the XBox launch because GT3 isn't out on that platform.

... when you think that it might be a bit of a hoot to see if a Vitz/Yaris handles like that in real life, and seriously consider moseying on down to the Toyota dealer.

... when you sympathise with Alistair McRae and Francois Delecour because the Evo VII prototype is a dog in GT3 too, and you feel you share their pain.

you've been playing too much when:

your driving method causes your wife says she feels like the navigator in a rally car.

You apex off/on ramps. (said before, but I do it too much to not say it)

You never realized how much power your car had when you redline every gear.

With winter driving (AKA impromptu rally racing), the e-brake becomes an additional steering/aiming tool

BTW: I did off the INDY 200 yesterday to play GT3...

AO

I dont play GT3 that much... I recently got blessed with a condition called boredem... with it, GT3 becomes unappealing if I play it for too long at a time, and now I actually play other racing games, even Cruisin World on N64:o Its almost like Ive fulfilled my purpose in Gran Turismo 3...

Ill suppose I might as well but my 10 pence into the jar
1. You ask the driving examiner if you got bronze (1st test)
2. You manage to drift your driving test car (2nd test)
3. You have dreams about owning RX-7's GT0's etc (and wake up)
4. You give certain corners pet names
5. You associate corners with past moments of your life
6. You start trying to press invisible pedals that dont exist to make the game more realistic without using a steering wheel.
7. Oh sore thumbs VERY SORE THUMBS (although this has only happened in GT3)

you wait until your car is redlining before changing gear

or

you forget that you cant change the view to 3rd person to look at your nice `n` shiny car

LOL! That is SO ME!! I have a spot in the carpet that is designated for my playing time!

... when you don't care about the XBox launch because GT3 isn't out on that platform.

LOL again! In fact, that is the EXACT reason why I chose PS2 over Xbox for Christmas! :p

youve been playing too much gt3 when....
u get into your dads car and try and drive the thing even though your 3 years away from a driving license

hmmm.... my first post....
I got one to add to your list that I didn't see that I do a lot....

brag about the cars on your game to your friends more than the real one you have....
It's funny how people get offended when you tell them your video game car can beat theirs....

You been playing too much GT3 when you get a "booty call" and you have to finish this race and save your progress. 😈

How the hell did you find out about that?!?

Power sliding every turn possible in real life.
You try to change gears by pushing the L or R button in your car.
You get in your car and go 1000 MPH at a wall and bounce right off.
You go to a auto shop and you expect the people to make an oil change in less than 8 seconds.
You drive into a pit stop and expect your car to lift up into the air and will change tires by itself.
