Just reviving this long forgotten thread with a new one.

Last weekend, I figured out that my wife's cockatoo can perfectly imitate most engine sounds. What was really eerie was when he began matching my shifting points on Midfield. I was so confused when I heard the car shift and I hadn't hit the button. Took me about 8 laps to figure out what he was doing.

Really?! Do you have a sound or video file of this.....?

I haven't recorded him making the noise, however I do have an MP3 called "Racing in the Jungle" that would show you what my racing normally sounds like. It's 5 meg or so.

I'll have to try to find a way to record him sometime.

You start hearing Der Alta's bird even though he's thousands of miles away from you.:p
Your daily diet consists of GT3, nachos, and Pepsi.:p
You've gotten the Zonda C12S to handle well.

Well.

Clearly I have been playing GT3 too much. No, scratch that - I've been winning races with the C12S since day one.

And, having heard that myself, I'm surprised you can even complete three consecutive laps, much less kick my ass like you do...
:D

lol thatd be weird having a bird imitate(sp???) the sounds
couple more
- u think u can juz put your car sideways around a corner in the middle of the road and expect everyone else to do it too (that didnt make sense but thats what we do here on gt3... except for me i cant drift)
- u can win the 'like the wind' with the pitz
- u can rally a rally race perfectly with ur eyes open enouf juz to see the outline of the tv( did that once i was like 3 seconds down of what my normal time was too...)
- u clip the backend of someone's car expecting them to juz slide off to the side instead of spinning

Q... do u all use the tip of ur thumbs??? i use that last fold for the gas... the tip for the brake... roll thumb sideways for e-brake

You have really been playing toooooo much GT3 when:

Your daughter is screaming bloody murder in the shower because of a spider and you are busy figuring out how much time to finish the lap before responding to her...

When you go to a friends house to play GT3 at 8PM and the sun glare on the television in the morning is the only alarm clock that you're been there way to long...

When 22 laps at complex strings with tire wear in the DENSO against your friends TOM's CASTROL isn't a crazy idea and sound like a "good idea"....

When you are racing the above metioned race and felt like you barely started getting into it when "replay save complete" flashes across the screen and surprises you....

When the time split on the screen is in your way as you try to hit a apex into a corner and you can't resist cursing PD for putting it in the middle of the d@mn screen!!!!!

.....when those are just a few of the things you could list.

well... think about this... last friday i played 10 hours in a row  then sleeped 5 hours and started playing again about 7 hours.... addiction...?? naahh.... :D
just a god dam best driving game in the world!!!!

Keep playin GT3!!!

You know you've really been playing GT3 too much when ...

you are diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombus) which is a blood clot in your leg that was caused from sitting for long periods of time with little or no movement in your lower extremities (read: playing GT3 incessantly) ...

you are sent home from the hospital and while you are injecting 80ml of Lovenox into your stomach twice a day you still play GT3 with your leg elevated using a hand controller or your wheel without foot controls ...

you never played any PS/PS2 game before discovering GT3 in January 2003 and by April 2003 you reach 98+% and nearly kill yourself (literally, not figuratively) in the process...

your family threatens to bring in an AIS (Addiction Intervention Specialist) to mediate ...

so, enjoy the game but remember to stand up and walk around at least once every hour ...

Godspeed

While I don't have a daughter (let's hope not, at my age!), I can say I've been the same with my parents... whenever they call me, I just have to figure out when would be the most appropriate time to pause the game. :D

Done that too.

lol
i think im gonna have to try drifting a car in the mid of the road during my snow season around here (that is if i dont get a FF)

i hate that when ur sitting there then u finally notice one of your friends called for the 10th time and u realize ur starving and can hardly move

ur playing all night then u go to get somtin to eat and u stand up and fall right over

when you get in line in the drive thru at mcdonalds and after you get your food, you can't wait to watch your replay.:)

:banghead:
OH MY GOD! I am guilty of this. Except try having this happen on a brick fire hearth as I have. I s--t you not.
I've had GT3 ever since it's been out, and I ALWAYS sit in the same spot, b/c there is NEVER a glare from the sun on the TV.

When you drive down the road and thing of ALL the things that could be done to that dented, scratched up 240SX Fastback in front of you

(Guilty of this one) When you ask that hot girl in your neighborhood to wash your Civic and when she says $20, you think you got a GREAT deal.

You get frustrated b/c your REAL LIFE Honda doesn't have the low end torque like yours in the game.

You see metal guardrails on a sharp turn and you immediately think you are in Tokyo with a dumped NSX-R behind you tailing you.

My try :

When you think your better half looks slightly familiar but you can't exactly place her / him

My Cuzin does this (all of it)
- When you drift evry friggin corner u take
- When you Run peaple off the road cuz their not goiing fast enof...
- When you dont sleep for 3 days just too play GT3... lol

Oh my God, I think my registration was about 2 months old when this thread first appeared... talk about Golden Oldies!

But...

Ha ha I'm guilty of this!

Hmmmmmm, let me have a try...

You know you've been playing GT3 too much when you notice a car up ahead turning into a corner and stick your nose up his arse so you don't have to brake, and wonder why that front thing there is all smashed up and your car won't go no more. :D

Heh heh heh.

Hows about when you wake up and your hands are still going through the motions of hitting X, Square, joystick, etc...

My second two fingers right hand twitch constantly for a godd half hour after a long session - I try to post and discover my fingers wont stay still !!!
And my bed is broken where I sit to play - m8 come round and nearly fell off it cos he sat in the wrong "drivin position" !!!!

Well, maybe if he hadn't been such a fag about it, I might have let him in. The car looked brand new, too. Only thing missing was the window sticker. When I drive in real life I'm pretty brutal. I've run people off roads and into signs, trees, mailboxes, you name it. Good part is that none of these occurances are my fault. Usually people not yielding to me and me not backing off like they think I will.

Here's a good story for you. I'm on a long straight 2-laner. The yellow line is dotted and there is a pack of cars coming towards me in the other lane. This blue buick tries to pass a big truck that's going slow and gets into my lane thinking he can get around the truck before he hits me. I'm in my 300ZX TT, so I drop it down into 3rd putting me at about 5500 rpm and I gun it. The guy gets really scared and can't get back in his line. He runs off the road and into the ditch. I was rollin on the way home. :rotfl:

You loser - I just checked yr DOB in yr profile and surprise surprise !!! you are very young
Sorry if Im being a bit harsh but running sum1 off the road is bang out of order
I dunno if it happens all the time in USA but it dont in UK
Did u stop to think that perhaps the guy had tried to judge your speed and only cudnt make it round the truck cos you sped up - Idiot - Id have remembered yr plate number and come back to find you
Loser
