when you drift in socks.

when you set up racetracks in your driveway for your various wheeled transport devices.

When you think of making your own Fantasy LM and realizing you don't have enough credits. :guilty:

You've taken a hiatus from gt4 and decide maybe the ai and physics weren't really as bad as you thought, and then are rudely reminded how right you were after giving it another go. This is when.

...When you develop a small callus on your thumb from the constant rubbing and pressure from the X and Square buttons on your DS2.

when you start planning to get a classic, lightweight british sportscar and beating a Zonda with it.. (Ginetta G4 FTW :D)

Your amazon parrot loves to mimic the sqealing tires.

And does it near perfectly.

What's even funnier, is that he's been trying to mimic engine revs. He's got the tires down pat, but not the revs.

You know you're playing GT4 too much when...

...you find yourself marvelling at the stunning visual detail and resolution of your real world surroundings as you drive to work (not to mention the spot-on physics modelling).

Ahhhhhhhhh haaaaaaaaaaaaah!

CLASSIC!!

I think I have a problem. On the way from school today, there's this bridge that we let people off at. well to the right of it was this creek type thing, and I'm telling you it looked like the Nurb, only stretched horizontally (because of perspective) I could see the famous Karrusel, and couldn't help thinking about an SLR.

..when you keep checking this thread in order to recognize new symptoms. (fingers are so stiff that you can barely get rid of DFP/DS2, your right foor is permanently pressing the throttle, your lips and eyes have seized working and you drool like moron because you just drove 24h race at nurb in a citroen CV2 and won.)

i keep thinking of Infeneon Raceway in the farm that we live on for some reason, my Dad said it looked like Autumn Ring:lol:

When you go around a corner and curse at yourself for missing the apex.

Are you crazy I do that all the time :scared: It take me 30 minutes just to get a good lap time, beside when I get off pace I slow down take in the scenery and the treat the rest of the lap as a full track yellow :) (alrite luv another go at it then?!)

The part in brackets sounds like something I would say to my girlfriend. :dunce: lol

...You privately scorn Porsches and Ferraris because they're not in the game, although you normally wouldn't think of them as bad cars.

...You can pick off the cars in real-life traffic (...not in the game; should be in the game; sort of in the game; won't ever be in the game; in GT2 and GT4 but not in GT3...)

Didnt know that was a symtom, I was doing it before I started playing GT4
it gets tricky when you try to I.D. the car 10 semi-lengths away and not when its right in front of you
When you watch racing on television and the race is held on a track in the game, you criticize their driving lines yelling: "thats not the right line in GT4!" :D

I do that more or less to the AI, I mean come on, I can do 50 laps with a deviation of 2sec's time, with out going out of apex that much; it cant round the track 20 times at push(5) & overtake w/out crashing in to a barrier or a sand trap.

... you can 'sense' the braking points
Hmm... I thought everybody sensed it and thats how they passed their driver's license test in irl.

You play too much GT4 when you can not find anyone in Person that can even come close to your times, and you have to look to world GT databases to find faster times.

You play too much GT4 when your times are competitive with the world databases
OMG sooo true no one in a 10 mile radius of my house that i know can beat me and when I ask some one to race, the look at me funny and say no thx, I really bummed I have no competition.
I do this all the time. My kids love it when they're riding in the cart and I get it going sideways. :D

You have kids, there are adults that do that.........I do it with my little borther but i never thought of my dad say doing it. Man it be fun to go shopping wiht you lol. We could have a shop off and drift the whole way liek the old tv show were you get a shopping spree.

Hehe, I used to drift shopping trolleys before I knew what drifting was. :dunce: Great fun! I almost rolled the trolley right over once or twice... :scared:

We all are guilty of this, I purposely get the crappy shopping carts with no tires because they slide the easiest in the grocery store. :dopey: You should see the looks on peoples faces when I four-wheel drift right by them through the aisles.
Mine's pumping out 33 pounds of boost, from my right arm.

I find this an essential skill when to avoid two way traffic in one-car lane aisle, kids flanking a mother's cart, to avoid hitting food displays that take valueable aisle space, better than snaking/inching thru the gaps.

When you wonder why they've called the real Mitusbishi Evo 8 an MR when it's actually a 4WD. And the same with the new Seat Altea FR. It's an FF! Do Seat know nothing?
:odd: I was wondering the same thing.
...when you practice driving the line during everyday driving, IRL...

...when you keep every car you've won from GT4 races and look in the used car lots for cars you may never drive in-game, without selling any and think of yourself as a "car collector"...

(I'm guilty of the last 2)
I really wish I could
.... when you put a rear wing and you think it'll also improve front downforce.

When you're not able anymore to play any others racing games because of their bad quality, like the new TOCA race driver 3 :yuck:

So true.I'm almost completely unable to play any new racing game without,at some point, saying "Gran Turismo 4 is better than this".I just can't see the point in playing them more than GT4.Did it for Forza,TRD3 and PGR3.

...you're disappointed that real cars don't go past 200mph with ease....
Yaa mann GT4 is my Gold Standard :D

- when you ask your MAID to press L1 and right-arrow 3 times to speed-up time when you've gone to golf...

when your ds2 is worn down beyond recognition
went thru 2 controllers with the non function X-button

When you argue with people about cars, and your source of information is GT4.
I wont say how I did this but I did win an argument with polyphony as my source, heck I even convince my dad to chuck his POS ford taurus for a Subaru, but its only a WRX RS 2.0(no spoiler), not the 22B-STI
When you move the ps2 to the PC room so you can play more GT4 while reading the GT Planet forums!
the long cord of the DS2 is really got good range, one time I moved all three TVs in on room just so I could watch X-games motocross/rally, CART(inthose days it existed), and NASCAR, sorry I am sooo deprived I dont get speed tv.

The part in brackets sounds like something I would say to my girlfriend. :dunce: lol

lol minor detail (differatiating between irl and ig) and offering ur gurl a princely schauffer, only to be decieved and her brunch spewwed out  , as she stepped out of course :p

---When winning a 600+hp car becomes an annoyance

---When you tell your friends I was driving the _______ (insert your favorite GT4 street car) and explain how it handles thru the curves, and straight line tendancies, and overall feel of the drive, and they look bug-eyed at you, as if you were really priviliged to sit in one.

when you're so enthusiastic when you find out new stuff that you doublepost instead of editing your old post. :sly:

For some (I suspect, older) people, it's more like, "when you are careful to avoid telling your friends just how much GT4 you really do play."

To wit, a former academic boss once mentioned a couple of years ago that he enjoyed GT3. I then raved for about two minutes straight about various nuances, my Simulation Mode progress, etc. He then explained that he only ever played Arcade Mode and had never touched Simulation Mode. Oops. Never again...

Oh well, since that time I burnt out, and pretty much quit PS2 and video-games altogether. So I was able to relate that information to the same guy a few weeks ago. Over a nice pitcher of local brew.

oh man thats happend to me too cept the incident involved motorsports and my friend had no clue they asumed I was taking about football or baseball or basketball, lol i clueless in those areas, I only recently got into the baseball hype cuz the hometeam Detroit Tigers were aproaching the American World Series title, and it was all over the news. :guilty: its a shame no one around me shares the same interest.

But yeah its hard to hold back those flood gates and unload ur trifles of GT / Motorsports ... watever on some poor clueless soul.

P.S. -------->> You play too much GT4 when you are oblivous to your body's instinct to weight transfer when taking an Apex. (wat are you looking at?!... no man i wasn't swaying the the wind *hmpf* as if I would be high on drugs)
