4) You think you are high and mighty because you can quote a language other than english. (even thou the AUP states All messages must be posted in English.)

I can't blame him on that one. I would also post a sentence in its original language. By the way, for those who didn't know: "It is still my opinion that Carthago (Microsoft) should be destroyed".

Mm hmm. Okay. Just remember, you're the one who said this:

If KY and/or the AI's programmers would stand right in front of me right now, I'd punch them in the face. Hard. And I'm not even kidding

which I found personally offensive. Then you made another one of these threats, and then another (apparently pointed my way). I don't care if you were joking. I don't care that you later backpedaled and tried to sugar-coat your words with quips in other languages. And here you are again, trying to blame PD's coders for your problems, instead of admitting you're really just a mediocre driver. Not to mention trying to insult me with your S&M comment. :yuck:

Here's what I want (since apparently the mods don't seem to want to get involved): make an apology. Right now. Apologize to me. Apologize to Kazunori & PD's designers. Apologize to anyone who is offended by you (yet not able to speak as publicly as I am). Make it heartfelt. Remember, if it weren't for Kazunori & team, none of us would even be here! We'd be playing yet another "supercar" arcade game, perhaps.

You know you play GT4 too much when you make posts such as this and mean it. It might be just a guess, but I bet it is hard for you to make friends.

With you, for sure.

..... you have just about lost your grip on your controller, because your hands have cramped from a huge session during a 24hr.

...something sudden and unexpected happens, and you yell "Holy Skyline!".

Good one. Im gonna try that. but its not THAT GT4 relevant because Skylines exist in the real world too. Unless you mention the Skyline pace car.

May I suggest that you don't come here and insult one of the best and most frequent contributors to this sub-forum? You've made 49 posts in over 5 years, Parnelli has been around 5 and a half years, contributing almost 8000 posts to these forums. All of PB's posts I've read have been of impeccable quality, equitable and incisive. I don't think it's a good idea for the likes of you or I to wade into an argument like this.

Back on topic ...

Last night I had another dream about the Lan Evo '92 on N3s. I've been trying to make it a decent A-speccer without VCD for a couple of years now. In the dream I'd found the 'magic' ratio of springs/height/shocks/stabs (which I think exists) to make it driveable, but couldn't play well enough to get better than 5th, every bloody race.

Then I wake up and am lucky to get a 5th.

....when you get 8 hours into a very easy 200pts, 24hr endurance race, lose the will to live as it's so tedious and turn the damn thing off.

Think I need a good break from the game.:)

Hm... That gives me an idea...

...When you buy all versions of GT just so you can go through the series in chronological order.

I tried playing GT1&2 on my PS1 a few weeks ago, couldn't do it. Graphics are so bad now it's not true.

I never said this.

Oops - see what you mean now, sorry 'bout that, I thought I cut/pasted the right chap in there, but pasted the wrong sender. Excusez s'il vous plait & all that.

3) You winge way to much about a game that is over Four Years old and is never going to change.

Well, you know, after all,

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8339647.stm

;)

Part of the beef I have with PD - and drooling fanbois who call Yamauchi "-sensei" "-sama" or "-dono" <barf> - is that it *couldn't* be changed.

When you have a pc or Mac game and a few errors still creep in V1.0, that's shameful but not a real big deal; can still be fixed in V1.1, V1.2, etc.
But on a PS2 game, especially if it's a high-profile title, you *have* to get quality control right, since V1.0 is permanently burned onto a dvd and you cannot fix things afterwards.

Now I like GT4 in a lot of ways - nice gfx, big car choice, partially decent physics for an arcade game - but there are also some *atrocious* errors in there, mainly with regard to the AI and the gameplay. Which gamers immediately noticed about half an hour into the game, but PD seems not to have noticed in the course of *four years*. That verges on the moronic, but at the very least it's darn poor management.

Could've been excused if it was GT1... but this was a full three versions later, as well. As the Japanese themselves would say, "Nandeyanen! Zettai yurusanai!" ('unforgivable!')

4) You think you are high and mighty because you can quote a language other than english

Hey, be glad I don't post in my native language - Dutch is a b*tch to learn for foreigners, it seems. So I don't. Besides, that quote is an old and common joke on the Internet.

(And be glad the Chinese haven't taken over the Internet linguistically... yet. They're getting there though, numbers-wise. 哟 哟!)

Regards, R

Hey... really now, it wasn't. Sure, I said there are undoubedtly dimwits around who *like* getting their butt slapped by badly-coded AI on a daily basis, but unless you were joking on that, it certainly wasn't directed at you. I only want to slap KY and parts of his team around, really.

(And after having offered a heartfelt 'Sumimasen' after the slapfest, go for a mutual beer afterwards - on me, of course. I feel we'd need several rounds to have *that* particular coding team grasp the concept of decent AI, though - after all, they couldn't produce any after four versions of GT, and four years since the previous version.)

Oh sure, me and about ten thousand others on this and just about every other board noticed the AI and related gameplay is gobsmackingly bad in parts (*Bang* goes another car slamming into your behind as if you weren't there at all!) but that's all *our* fault, really. Sure.

It's not like I was the only one to note it mate, let alone be the first. Please don't make me quote the thousands of users' complaints made about GT4 AI - I'm not sure I could suffer all that.
(And, oh, I never said that I was that good, but then I plainly stated that several times already. Just like I mentioned I *did* beat the AI in the end, but hey, why note that which you don't want to see?)

Oh, you mean you're not into SM but still like to be abused by robots? Wow, pray tell. Sounds kinky. 👍 :dunce:
Seriously though... having some sense of humour would help, you know.

That actually started to sound rather pathetic, must say. It's just a game, albeit a partially badly-coded one. I already said I'd offer a proper apology, as it would behoove me in Japan... afterwards. :trouble:

I'm not even talking about the game. I'm talking about what you said earlier about beating the crap out of Kazunori and friends. But forget it. Nobody apparently cares about the AUP anymore. Apparently it's now *okay* to threaten others here with violence. I'll keep this in mind.

You know you play GT4 too much when you make posts such as this and mean it. It might be just a guess, but I bet it is hard for you to make friends.

That's a good guess, but wrong. It's hard to say this since I have 36 official friends on my profile. Each and every one of them friended me, not the other way around. :odd:

Anyway, since you're new here, the deal is there's this set of rules called the Acceptable Use Policy, or AUP. One of these rules basically says you aren't supposed to harrass or threaten other members on this site. RadioGT has managed to do both, threatening Kazunori and the Gran Turismo game programmers with a "punch to the face", and threatening me similarly a couple times. Most of this happened in another thread (see the "OMG the AI is worse than I thought" thread). At a bit of risk, I've decided to stick my neck out and try to illuminate what's going on. Result: nobody seems to care. No warnings are issued. Nothing. I've seen people get banned here at GTP for less. Not that I"m saying RadioGT should be banned...all I asked was for a simple apology.

And it sucks because I like coming here to discuss the game and cars in general, with people online who I've come to know and enjoy the company of (generally). So, we'll see what happens. I'm not going away, and I will not forget this, RadioGT. :grumpy: You shall get what you deserve.

ON topic...you know you aren't playing enough GT4 when you get sucked into virtual arguments instead of taking your aggression out on the tracks! GUILTY

...when you restart playing GT3 from the scratch.

MadMax
I get it. And guilty 👍

Sir, i regret to tell you that this belongs in the GT3 forum because this is only for
gt4.

I know I am playing GT4 too much when I get out my copy of GT3 and start that from scratch, just for something different.

..... you can quote bhp and weight to any one, for any car with any upgrade.

This one's more for GT3... but:

When you have the light pattern of the Ferris Wheel on SSR11 memorixed.

and threatening me similarly a couple times.

Um, no. Probable misunderstanding there. Never even thought of that, actually. I save my punches for those who deserve it, really.

I'm not going away, and I will not forget this, RadioGT. :grumpy: You shall get what you deserve.

I love you too man <Hugs>! (Boy, talk about threatening.. :dopey: )

On topic... Um, almost forgotten now, really. ..Anyone like the little '86 MR2 as well?

Yes, it's the star of my race story.

...When you start using the word "Skyline" to mean a lot of something.
"There's a whole Skyline of cars on this track."
"Strange, they're all Evos."

...When you start using the word "Skyline" to mean a lot of something.

Nothing wrong with that.

I use it to describe over-rated.

For example:

"Isn't Pi the greatest mathematical constant?"

"Dunno, a bit of a Skyline figure to me."

I thought of a few...

...when you are driving your hatchback down the road and gas it and totally freak out when you see a Dodge Ram in your Rear-view Mirror...

...When you can't recognise the Gillet Vertigo in GT3...

...When you play GT3 and think something's wrong with Seattle when you see the map....

Hamish and Andy have done that.....But they called it "ghosting". Hilarious!

Ghosting IS something though - its not because they pretend to draft people in order to reduce aerodynamic drag.
The whole of yr12 did it to every teacher in the school - with the chanllenge to get the most elaborate ghost walk. THAT was funny :p.

Hm... That gives me an idea...

I am guilty because I've had this idea.:)

Yeah, thats exactly what happened.:indiff:
When you pretend to draft people in order to reduce aerodynamic drag.

Guilty...:indiff:

When you record a commentary for a b-spec race.

When you can identify each (and i mean every single) skyline gt-r by looking at their shadow.
