I doubt it, because if Polyphony had any project management or management structure, heads would be rolling after all the flaws in the game and the bad reviews (even if microsoft paid for them).
Heres what I think Polyphony should be looking to fix/update in upcoming updates:
- Fix the annoying pixellation issues.
- Inconsistant penalties and disqualifications in licenses and challenges.
- PENALISE people for cutting the 2nd chicane on Monza and give a heavier penalty for cutting chicanes at La Sarthe.
- Make all damage whether online or offline REALISTIC please! If PC sims manage to do this by simply having body panels fly off on impact and being deformed properly on impact then Polyphony should have no problem or excuse to not do this, it simply shows what a rush job this game is. When you crash heavily it should be game over in a game like this, wheels should be torn off, suspension parts should fail, aerodynamic stability comprimised, tyres punchtured, cooling comprimised, etc. not wobbling the odd wheel and docking abit of horsepower. If Codemasters managed to have decently realistic damage on a PS1 with TOCA then theres no effing excuse for PD to have damage that you'd expect on a budget racing game.
- Fix the effing wheels! There seems to be no inside to any of the wheels in any of the game, its just a blank grey wall... seriously PD, do you have any idea how **** that really looks???
- Premiumise the cars people GIVE a **** about, we don't want hype built up that cars are going to be made premium if your only going to do it to frivelous cars like the Daihatsu Midget, we'd want it done to the race cars, the supercars, the sports cars etc.
- Fix the tyre wear, theres no way on gods green earth that the Minolta 88CV lasts longer on tyres than the Peugeot 908, the Peugeot 908 manages to go 5 stints on the same set of tyres at Le Mans.
- Fix the realism of certain cars. the Minolta 88CV was far slower and inferior to the Jaguar XJR9 and the Sauber C9, not faster, same goes for the R89, the R90CP should be on benchmark and just abit quicker than the Jaguar and Sauber. The Mazda 787B is also unrealistically quick, it doesn't take a genius to realise this when it qualified 38th on the grid and was in the C2 category in 91, the INFERIOR category to the other Group C cars. The Peugeot 905 is way to slow, this is a car that was on par with the performance levels of F1 cars that year, and it was actually quicker than F1, if you follow F1 you'd know that it took untill 2004 for F1 itself to match its own performance from that era. So Polyphony, stop being inconsistant and fix it, theres is no way in HELL that it takes that long to change gears, its running on an F1 spec gearbox. I have alot of friends in the ALMS/IMSA category and they all laugh at GT for these reasons.
- Fix the inconsistency in the manufacturer car lists, you haven't even bothered with Panoz since GT3, you can easily outsource car rendering/scanning to outside companies who do a better job then your own SLACKERS.
And before the drama queens kick off with the usual "you dont know how much that costs" or "that takes years to do" or "you know howmuch programming that takes" blah de blah de blah, etc. Its easy for Polyphony to do this, all it takes is good time, project and resource management. It's easy to get significant bulks like this if you stop SLACKING and being distracted by pointless PR guff.
