Actually, all the cars in there were pretty much duplicates, but I did the trick on this car, and it worked perfectly!
I´m glad it´s in a different colour, so, it was a happy double!

Seems like the trick does work then, but not all the time. So there must be another factor we are not considering. Did you hold down the L1 and R1 buttons from the start and then press X when the car was highlighted?

I did wonder whether you need to press them before a certain point in the rotation for the trick to work i.e. if you press the buttons too late or do not hold them down it doesn't work maybe? Or maybe the trick doesn't work for certain cars (e.g. anything over 1m credits or anything I want! :lol:)

Is it just me who thinks someone from PD is watching this thread waiting for us to "crack" it. Shaking their head every day and going "no, thats not it either" :odd::lol:

On the basis that the trick works at lease some of the time, it seems to be sensible to alway press the buttons for the times when it does work.

Yes, once the roulette started to show, I pressed the L1 and R1 buttons, and released them after pressing X on that highlighted Honda.....
Always, before the roulette starts, pressing L1 and R1 at the same time.....
Thankfully, the trick is really useful, even though it doesn´t work certain times....
And, those people from PD have got a lot of things to worry about, than checking this thread.....

It worked for me twice, it could also be a coincident, i don't know, i didn't try today thought :O.

I tried as described yesterday with no luck. I will do it again today after work just to make sure I didn't screw it up lol.
 
Just when the "daily workout complete" screen poped up, I pressed down at the same time L1 and R1, after a few seconds trying to figure out which cars were spinning, I realized the Fitipaldi was the one to choose.

So quickly when it passed by in front of my eyes I pressed down X and immediately left the controller alone.

Just when the music started to sound, I could tell... I had gotten the ******* Miata instead.
 
If you ask me, the trick thing is just an illusion. If you say it have worked for you sometimes, then it's just the common pattern of the game working as intended, giving you sometimes what you want.

Still, it is extremely frustrating to wait for a car for months and not getting it as a gift.

You could buy it, and I will. I have never got a Porsche or a McLaren as a gift, the brands that by far I've been looking for the most, and I've just realized I'll have to buy them all if I want to race with them some time. But at this point, I insist in saying that it is frustrating not to get the car you dream with, even though you know that's the way it is: a roulette, a game of chance, but it takes away a bit of the magic of the game off and crushes your dream of feeling good for something.

This happened to me a couple of times...if your daily mileage is still showing, just go to another screen like your gararge or the mileage exchange and then come back to the home screen and see if that works. HTH

Ok i got gifted a car for that day yesterday(23/01) as soon as i logged on........ 2011 Audi R18 :dopey:, but then i got a second subaru viziv vgt for the day(24/01) :banghead:
 
Guys, i tried again today, L1 R1 and pressed X when the car i not wanted (:lol:) was highlighted and that was The Hyundai Genesis GR.3 and guess what i got:

so it have worked three times out of three, it could still be a coincident, i will try again tomorrow :).

I will try this L1+R1+x trick today just for the fun of it - I'm using a Logitech G25 with Drivehub and don't have a spare controller, so that trick would mean pressing the both shift paddles simultaneously and then pressing X, which is right near the H-pattern shifter... I bet it will be good fun trying to nail this combo :D

Unfortunately, the trick didn't work on me today, and my target was the KTM X-Bow R, or either the Peugeot L750R Hybrid VGT Gr.1.....
And, by the way, the colour that I got for that BMW was in black....
I did press X on the KTM..... but today's prize car was garbage....
