DODGE the VIPERWell all I can say is I don't particularly like that Phelps kid.![]()
You've got a strange sense of humor, MazKid. Those gymnasts train HARD nearly every day for years and years in preparation for one performance, and then the one time it matters, they fail. All that work, for nothing. How anything could be funny about that I'll never know.MazKidI like the gymnastics...there's more room for error in them, and it's frankly hilarious when someone screws up.
I just about died laughing several nights ago when this Ukraine woman was doing the high and low bars...she went from the high to the low, and was supposed to go right back up to high, but she kinda didn't, and slammed her feet on the ground because the low bar is, well low. Also when they do the floor gymnastics and go out of bounds.
The Japanese just killed everyone last night at the stuff. Very interesting to watch.
I was also watching the swimming stuff...it's ok, never a big fan of swimming(because I suck at it).
JordanI'm a huge fan of the Olympics myself, and like Sage I've watched nearly every event! It's hard to pick my favorite sport, although Swimming has proved the most exciting so far.

What's so stupid about hard work? I don't mind that you don't like watching it, but to say that it's all stupid is stupid in itself (like I mentioned, I hate watching baseball, but I give baseball players all due credit for the work they put into the sport). As a long-distance runner myself, I'd say that it takes just as much mental energy to compete fiercely in a sport as it does to compete in academics in other words, it's not just about having the biggest muscles.Carlover325I don't like any of the olympic events. They're boring. Plus I don't like watch any types of sports. IMO, they're all stupid.

Omnisignorant fool. you have no idea. you should maybe play some sports to get some newfound respect for them.
otherwise just sit at your computer in placenta california. (pun on that 'girl' suggestion).
though, girls work JUST as hard as men do, and thats no lie. every olympian is truly an amazing athlete. for example, to think that throwers in general are just good because they are strong is an incredibly stupid statement. the mastery of the technical aspect of any event is what makes winners. i believe all olympic athletes are more than just that. they are artists of their craft. the amount of respect they deserve is more than i, myself, could provide.
perhaps that is why every athlete at olympic village is RESTRICTED TO ONLY 1300 cokes, and free all you can eat anything. and some more free stuff.
lol. go olympics!
Carlover325my opinions may differ from yours, but that doesn't mean I'm ignorant.
I've wondered the exact same thing. Why an event that includes animals, I'll never understand.Originally posted by Jimmy
And why is equestrian?
Carlover325I don't like being called ignorant

I never said the olympians were stupid

the olympics are boring, and yes IMO kind of stupid.
hey, my favorite sport in Gym class is badmitton too! I didn't even know it was an olympic sport!JordanWhere do you get to play badminton, Famine? It was always my favorite thing to do in gym class, but I would love to get a little more involved.
FamineIndeed not.
Saying you don't like sports - that's fine. Saying you won't watch the Olympics - that's all good too. Saying that any type of sport is "stupid" is an amazingly stunted viewpoint.
I play hockey, badminton and football (of the kind with feet involved) regularly. Are they all stupid? Should I give them up, get no exercise and drop dead of heart disease in 15 years time?
I have the feeling you were picked on by the High School jocks as a kid.

Ev0Just watched the men's 10,000 meter race today, and WOW! It boggles my mind how these African guys can run for a whole half hour at an average speed of over 20km/h! And the speed they all had for the last lap! I was in complete astonishment!
