Dont you have a runner to comfort after quitting and stuff.

I saw the paper the day after that happened and her big red crying face was on the back and the front pages.

I've watched the boxing and i've also been unimpressed with the refs. BBC have force fed the rowing a bit. Oh and the Argies are probably going to win the Football, I hope.

What happened with Iraq and Paraguay in the footy?

Shame for Radcliffe. I thought she was going to win at a canter. Then she stopped and cried. No-one likes to see someone fail after 4 years of hardwork :(

Dunno what happened in the Paraguay Iraq match, i'd say Paraguay probably beat them but that's just a random prediction.

Apparently it was too hot for her and too many gradients. To be honest I would've thought she had the detirmination to try and come back from forth.

The commentators were saying the Japanese chick (who won) went out to fast, and they also thought Radcliffe was just biding her time.

I also feel sorry for that Canadian Womens Hurdler who tripped over the first hurdle in the final and took out the Russian next to her too. She was teh favourite.

She rocks, canada is so proud of her 👍

Yeah and the Russian had a pout to the judges after. Can't you canadiens fall over in a straight line?

The thing with Radcliffe is she hasn't run that many marathons. She has run 5 I think. Which when you consider the conditions at the Olympics isn't much.

Will she race tomorrow in the 10,000m? I don't think so.

Did anybody see this yesterday?

When they were looking at some American guy before the hurdles, I think it was a person from Ecuador walked in front of the camera with his hand in his shorts. It was the one with the false-start.

Women's Volleyball - Brazil vs Russia.

DAMN there were some asses on show there. The Brazilian number 10 looked like an "S" in profile. Awesome.

Pity it only went to five sets.

I missed the 100m final. Who the hell is he?
Justin Gatlin won the 100m (by like 0.01 second).

I also thought that the Japanese lady went out too fast and tried to put on too much pressure near the end of the hills, but damn, she just flew! Really, really amazing job on her part – I would never think that someone who went out that early could hold off until the end like that.

I knew Radcliffe was in trouble long before she was showing any signs though... I thought she looked like she was having trouble even very early on into the race. I don't want to be arrogant and belittle her, because she could kick my butt any day, but she could afford to run smarter – she tried to keep a fairly hard pace in the beginning (which throws your upper leg muscles out of whack), and she never, ever drafted, which was really odd. To those who don't run, it probably wouldn't seem like drafting while running would make much of a difference (as opposed to drafting at 180 mph in a race car), but it does make all the difference in the world. Apart from the lower wind resistance, it also has the side benefit of playing mind games on the runner you're drafting on. It's such an effective way of shaving off time that I try to always stay in a draft during a race, until the last few hundred meters of sprinting. I really don't know why Radcliffe doesn't do it herself, since it's an easy way to gain on opponents without making drastic changes to your running form or anything like that.

Not seen Paula run a lot have you?

Her head starts lolling at about 30m into the race and she permanently looks like she's in trouble. I've never seen anyone contrive to look so knackered as she does.

Yea, her "bobbing" is the weirdest thing i have ever seen in a runner. I was also looking for signos of trouble, but with that head motion, it is damn near impossible.

I saw the 200m mens final yesterday. The crowd was booing their heads off for like 5 mins. They had to abort the start cos it was so loud. At first I thought the booing began whenever Gatlin and Crawford appeared on screen, but I think it was because their "I faked a motorbike accident to avoid a drug test but I'm innocent" 200m runner wasnt there.

I managed to catch the highlights of the Womens football bronze medal match, it was Sweeden v Germany. Oddly enough there was a Sweedish striker called Ljungberg, I wonder if she's related. On another note, allot of the Sweedish players were hot and the majority of the Germans werern't. Mind you the Germans won, but by one effin goal and Sweeden had all the possesion and really tested the goalkeeper with a blinding free kick. Unfortunately their keeper seems to be the female equivalent of Oilver Kahn and just as ugly.

Jennie Finch is the hotness.... but mens Tae Kwon doe takes the cake... that taipei guy absolutely hammered the Mexican... and the women's tae kwon doe was absolutely stupid.......

Oh, I know, I'm very much aware of her head bobbing and her running style (and even someone who wasn't familiar with that would be after all the yackety-yacking the NBC commentators did). My point was that even for her, it was apparent she was going to have trouble – even when someone has a strange posture/running stance, you can still tell when they're not running what's efficient for them.

For example, there's a kid on my XC team who has a similar head bob to Radcliffe, although his is more side-to-side instead of up-and-down... and because he's short (4-foot something), he has an extremely awkward pace. However, it's still easy to tell when he's reaching a breakdown point... to be honest, it's kind of hard to point out any one particular thing that you know is caused from someone reaching that point, but you just have to look at everything and notice all the small things adding up. Radcliffe looked like she was struggling with her upper legs though – her lower legs were quite relaxed, but her upper legs were noticeably stiff and weren't pulling back as far as they could (she was doing more of a foward-stride than she usually does).

Who do you think the determination award goes to? It's either the australian beach volleyball team or the russian guy that came second place in the 50km walk... He almost fainted while he was walking.... True determination...

I just got done watching the worst officiating since the Roy Jones Jr. boxing match in the 1988 Olympics. It was during the hockey gold medal finals between NED and AUS. The Dutch were robbed, just like Jones Jr. was. Disgraceful.

I caught something iffy during Australia's win over Spain in the hockey.

The Australians had a short (penalty) corner. The ball was pushed out to the stopper - who usually stops it outside the D and pushes it back in for someone to strike. Instead he stopped it, the striker dummied the strike and he switched sides, using the handle of his stick, which is illegal, and they scored.

Didn't Britain do well in the track and field?. .. Kelly Holmes winning the double , the mens 4 by 100m beating USA now that was a shock! :D

And now we've got the young Amir Khan in the lightweight boxing final, I'm looking forward to this

So hockey really is going on right now?! :odd: Summer? Winter? did I miss something?

Given my description above, when was the last time you saw a corner, a penalty corner, a D or, for that matter, a ball in ICE hockey?
