Judges should be checked. It seems some events are rigged. I like swimming and diving. I think the sports where you earn the medal like running are better for the olympics than sports where judges choose the medal winner because judges mess up so much.
 
The judges are so bent on the gymnastics events......they don't reward for daring combinations and moves but mark you down! Since seeing it start both the mens and womens events, judging has appeared really irratic and fishy to me!

In essence the judges are useless.....they should let other people have an infulence.....
 
Then foreign relations might be changing how judges judge. If they don't like you or your country they will downgrade you even though they aren't suppoesed to.
 
I swear I am seeing an essence of racism in the judging, and I think in a day and an age like this, at a repected event.........ITS SICK! :yuck: :grumpy:
 
I like to watch table tennis. It's incredible to see the speed at which the ball is hit.
 
I think the olympic games should be revised to apply to a new generation of athletes....virtual ones.....hahahaha you could be a 450 lbs behemoth blowing away a real life sprinter just becasue your fat thumb is a little faster

They are, by other judges.

In judged events the highest and lowest scores from the judges are discarded.


I'd like to see drug-assisted Olympics. Imagine how fast 100m could be run if everyone was on drugs...

I love curling in the winter, its fun to watch. In the summer I like watching the baseball, diving and beach volley ball. Also in the winter hockey of course, snowboarding and skiing.

curling is the thing with that stone that they slide across the ice. and they sweep the ice in front of it and stuff. works kinda like shuffleboard.

Probably 9.78 seconds.

I find it amazing how much faster the 100m is run today. In 1896, the record was 12.0 seconds. 108 years later, it is 9.78 seconds.

How much faster can humans run?

Also noteworthy is the fact that Jesse Owens held the record at 10.2 seconds for 20 years. Has there ever been a greater athlete?
 
Indeed - but a drug-assisted Ben Johnson set the same time in the 1988 Olympics...
 
I liked the Olympians in the current issue of Playboy better than any "event", but beach volleyball is pretty close to the same thing. ;)
 
I like watching the swimming events and Track and field but really. Come on. Who doesn't like watching Womens beach volleyball. Are you kidding me. their in bikini's.

I missed the 100m final. Who the hell is he?

As an addendum to the drug-assisted 100m, I forgot to note that Obadele Thompson has run a 9.60 at altitude, un-drug-assisted.
 
The boxing judges must be fast asleep. A Namibia was clouting the stuffing out of a German in the 48-51kg class and yet lost by 13 points. The gymnastic judges probably graduated with this load of palookas. :grumpy:
 
I like the cycling, vollyball and the swimming is alright. I think the olympics need Skateboarding or extreme wheelchairing.:lol:
