What the h3ll were you doing in the Kitchen ?... And what's the deal with calling the Apple pie "Girlfriend" ?...

We like to keep our sex life hot and spicey...so we do it near the hot stove and spice rack! :D 👍

about 6 months ago, my father bought me a pair of shoes which i later realized was too small on me. the next day, a small portion of my school walked to the local park which is about 1 1/2 miles away from the school. we played football and i wound up with a sprung ankle. i had to walk on the tragecly (spelling) hurting ankle all the way back to school also with my shoes being to small on me not helping the situation. later when i got home, my sock was covered in blood and i could barely walk. then i noticed that my toenail was ripped completely off (from the football). when i was laying in bed, it hurt just to roll over or move positions (no pun intended). i guess you could say i had a bad day.

Hmmm....

1. Getting hit with a golf club..... down there.

2. Breaking my wrist

3. Breaking my ankle. (woot)

4. Getting hit in the head by a aluminum bat (clangangangang)

Back in October of 2006, I had a table saw blade moving at roughly 4,500rpm slice through every tendon, ligament, and artery that is inside of my hand. I didn't get my first dosage of morphine for around 30 minutes. I ended up getting so pumped full of it that my dosage would have killed someone who hadn't had a serious injury. I lost an ass load of blood and I just remembered being amazed that all this blood I saw was mine, and it was no wonder I was cold, shaky, and really tired.

That was my most painful experience. Aside from actually looking at my mangled hand, which was far worse pain than physical.

Somehow I had wondered if your experience would have been less painful than it sounds, at least initially. In my experience, some of the worst pain happens in the hours/days after the initial damage (eg: major burn victims). I suppose not though. Once you get to the doctor you've got access to some pretty nice drugs.

Well, when I had opened up my hand initially I was in so much shock I ignored the pain. I assure you, the pain was out of this world despite my state of shock. I do agree that my pain was far worse after waking up from surgery. My body was no longer in survival mode, and I felt every bit of the table saw when I was out of surgery and awake. The morphine no longer worked it seemed. I hit that little button to drug me up as many times as it would let me.

Edit : A month after my second surgery I had a 2nd degree burn on my middle finger. Since I don't have the protective sensation to tell me I'm burning myself, I let a heating bad burn the hell out of me. Thankfully, not having that protective sensation also kept me from feeling this burn. I'm sure it was painful. Glad I couldn't feel it though.

We have it too. It's called an epidural.

Apparently those arnt all great, it can leave you with chronic nerve problems like headaches and backaches, as you are, after all stabbing your spinal cord with a huge needle with a cocktail of drugs probably potent enough to knock out a horse!, some women now prefer not to have any drugs because of this.

But of course the pain is gonna be horrifying!

Well, it's good to see my thread has prospered! Just to fit in, I'll give some details about my wonderful eye surgery (although I'll sound like a wimp after Jjacks' post.)

Basically I had a small growth on my eyelid, and was going to get it removed. So I got the very unpleasant shot just above my eye and cut the growth (I named it "Scout") off. Problem is, my eyelid wasn't really thick enough for a proper cauterization (intentionally burning the skin to stop bleeding and/or infections) because the heat was too close to my eye. However, there really wasn't much else to do, so here's what happened: he had his assistant hold my eyelid out, away from the eyeball, so the heat from cauterization wouldn't burn my eye. So basically I had my left eye open for an entire surgical procedure on it. Psychologically, the worst part was smelling my own burnt flesh.

I must add that the doctor did an excellent job, you can't even tell anything was there.

The headache I had on my last b-day, it was horrible, my entire head hurt (around the eyes, top of head, etc.)

The ones I got after having 3 concussions in 2 months were pretty bad, and I slid 20 feet down a road after jumping off my (moped-like) electric scooter, but it didn't really hurt.

From,
Chris.

letsee,

1. i used to suck my thumb, in the way a crack addict uses crack. it became sooo infected, my mom had to wrap duct tape around it. but somehow, i still tried to get the duct tape off so i could suck my thumb.

2.my brother (BayConRong) held me by my ankles when i was 2 or 3 and walked around. my head was hit 400+ times. i am told by many that i am excentric.

3. i flipped a racing go-kart, and got a concussion. at 30 mph.

4.i made a fantastic play in fliers up. a frisbee hit me in the head, then someone hit me, i fell down, hitting my head again, and finally, a heavy person fell and almost broke my leg. for 3 minutes. pain. and a concussion to rule all. couldnt control bodily functions for 3 days.

top 5

5) needles in the big toes to have ingrown toenails removed.

4) broken wrist after hitting some one on their shoulder blade.

3) gout attack in the left wrist

2) head split open on corner of bed (was only 5 when it happened).

1) cyst removed from the top of crack on my butt (the worst part was when the dressing needed to be changed the first time. because i was unconcious the first time it was packed quite well, having the blood dry and then having the blood riped from the wound. (because of the position of the cut i could not have any stitches.) man that brout a tear to my eye.

Shouldn't you basically not feel childbirth? I mean, they have drugs for that sort of thing.
Of course there are drugs for the pain of childbirth but unfortunately you dont get to have them until you get to the hospital.

I had that done yesterday and I didn't think it was all that bad, maybe the person doing my toe was better at injections, obviously some are better than others.

My brother and his wife are expecting (yep, I'll be an uncle) and at first they were thinking about natural child birth at home. But after some careful thought and watching a few videos she decided that she wanted some kind of pain relief and is now thinking she will have it in a hopsital.

I hadn't heard about the epidural issues. They are still very commonly used around here.

I give my wife and myself allergy shots and have been shown how to properly do an injection. A needle point is slanted at an angle to one side, not a central tip. If the person doing the injection doesn't pay attention to the positioning of the needle they might as well be shoving in a blunt object. Improper injections can cause pain, bruising and, if it is going for a blood vessel, some crazy bleeding. I have learned after many hospital and doctor visits that any injections and bloodwork will only be done by lab techs that do it hundreds of times a day, not the floor nurse who only does it when the lab gets busy.

In response to the OT post: Milford Cubicle is the B+Q guy who stumbles across Salad Fingers house, so you're right that it's Salad Fingers related.

I did have an epidural, I also had Tylex to begin with, then lots of gas & air, then a shot of diamorphine before they finally put the epidural in. I was in labour so long, the epidural wore off twice and had to be re-done. The gas and air didn't work, the diamorphine didn't work (in fact it was of detriment to my baby's heart rate, which is why they decided not to give me any more of that) and the epidural did work for abut 12 hours, which left the other 11.5 hours of pain pain pain. Yay.

I've split my head open somewhere between 10 and 15 times (ie. falling off a bike headfirst a couple of times, once after trying to ride with no hands and my feet over the handlebars; my cousin threw a giant ball of rock at my head; cricket ball smashed into my head; smashing into corners of tables, etc.).

I've torn my ankle ligaments twice on the same ankle within an 8 month period (still not recovered). The second time was worse. One on one with a goalkeeper, I stuck my foot in to flick the ball past, but he dropped hard and landed his whole bodyweight on my foot. I heard a crack and thought I'd broken at it. What made that worse was the fact that my foot was bent inwards and severely out of shape (for several weeks, actually), but in a couple of days time it was revealed that I had just torn my ligaments (although I'd come to that conclusion, because it didn't seem like a break).

I've broken all of my fingers at some point (none of m thumbs though, thank god). Basketball and cricket mainly, although my pinky is bent very out of shape due to awkwardly blocking a shot playing goalkeeper during an indoor game. I hadn't realised I'd broken it until after the game. It hurt, but I didn't think much of it until a friend pointed out that my finger looked a tad different.

Out of all of the above, though, I'd have to say that my most painful experience was a trip to a very dodgy dentist a year back. He illegally numbed both sides of my mouth for a simple "check" (he assured me that he wasn't performing any fixes, just "looking"). He promptly proceeded to cut up my gums and mouth. He either didn't wait long enough for the numbing injections to work on my gums, or just didn't do enough, because I felt the entire thing. My mouth bled continuously for about three days. He got fired instantly.

I hated going to the dentist before this happened.

I have two.

1st - A Collapsed lung, Pneumothorax, 9years ago. I got very,very drunk and walked into a lamp-post!
Nothing major, but the doctors/consultants couldn't inflate it after inserting a chest drain.
I had a 3/4" tube for the chest drain going into my chest, just under my right armpit. They would normally take about
3-4 days to inflate the lung. After about 12 days with this in my chest, nothing had happened. A doctor saw me about 10pm,
I'd never seen him before, and never saw him again afterwards. He read through my notes, then grabbed the tube and wiggled it!

3 hours later moving around in my sleep, I woke with the worst pain I had ever experienced,
the diaphragm beneath my chest cavity hurt like hell with every slightest breath or movement, and my right shoulder was burning like mad.
I eased the pain a little in my shoulder by pulling as hard as I could on the headboard, (which ended up bent),
but the pain in my chest and diaphragm was unbearable.

Anyway, it took 3 nurses and 1 doctor to hold me down while another doctor injected me with 35ml of morphine!

The first doctor told me that the pain would go within 30 secs, and I would be asleep within 20 mins.
I was still awake 2 hours later asking for more.

The following morning after a couple of tests and a scan they told me that the tube
had pushed into and trapped my spinal nervous vertibrae!
:scared:

Pain rating = 10/10
Other seperate injuries for comparison...
Broken wrist = 2/10
2 Cracked ribs = 3/10

2nd - Vasectomy. They injected each nut with a 2" needle and filled it with anaesthetic! :nervous:
The operation itself was painless, but the initial injection..... Aaarrrgghh! = 6/10

2 Kidney stones when I was 19...Woke up at 9 am with raging pain in my lower back, couldn't piss and when I did it burned like hell. The doctor gave me some vicodin which was wonderful. I passed them the next morning at 4 in the morning. It was the greatest relief ever.

Sweet Jesus, did you sue for medical malpractice?

Umm im never had anything as painful as what you guys have  The worst ive ever had was once when i was like 10, i was running at school somewhere. I tripped on some plank of wood (Dunno why it was there) and split my shin open a bit. I only had like 2 stiches and that didnt hurt that much either :dopey:

A shot in my toe, directly under my toe nail and then a shot between my toes, (to anaesthetize my toe).
