What are your top 5 applications on your computer?

Top 5:
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver MX
  • Macromedia Fireworks MX
  • Macromedia Flash MX
  • Adobe Photoshop 7.0
  • Cyberlink PowerDVD

Please, don't discuss stuff against the AUP!

What do you mean by top 5?

Though, I guess it's fairly easy for me, since I (incidentally) have 5 applications in my Dock... Finder, Word, Mail, Safari, and iTunes.

Don't really know, a whole bunch of other things about the same.

1. Mozilla Firefox
2. Adobe Photoshop
3. iTunes
4. Microsoft Word
5. AVG Virus thingie and Ad Aware 6

Ahh - You need to clearify yourself, boy!

Anyways -
Adobe Photoshop - rules all else,
UT2004 Demo - Boy am I going to get this game,
FireFox - 'nuff said,
MSPaint - ;)
Rhapsody - MuZaK!!1!1

No no, what I mean by Top 5 is like Best 5(In your opinion) applications on your computer.
Ah, okey dokey, then that changes things a tad...
  • Safari – Stupidy good standards support, rendering speed, and features (mostly the features that everyone is amazed about in Firefox, even though I've had them in Safari for about a year now :P)
  • MS Word – You heard me right, Microsoft Word. It's not the most user-friendly program, but once you learn all of the cool things it can do, it's hard to use anything else.
  • Macromedia Fireworks MX – Hurray for a program that is equally good at working with vector and bitmap objects in the same document. Absolutely kickass for that reason alone. Takes a day and a half to launch though.
  • iTunes – I use it everyday, it works, it compresses stuff well, it's pretty, it's fast, and I like it.
  • NetNewsWire Lite – My RSS aggregator, and clearly the best one out there. Keeps me from having to load a bajillion sites every day.

Sure - shove it in my face why don't you!:banghead:

I'll have you know my GF2 MX200 gets playable framerates! I'm talking with the settings at 800x600, 16bit, no AA/AF! Try that with your lousy little 9800 pro...

1. emacs ($0)
2. XMMS ($0)
3. gxine ($0 + guilt of using the deCSS code...)
4. Mozilla ($0)
5. XNorthernCaptain ($0)

I'm not including gnome-terminal, because thats a no-brainer.

How much did YOU pay for your top 5??

In no specific order:
  • Winamp - I'm sure I don't need to explain what its for...
  • Firefox - Like Internet Explorer only minus the M$ logo, all the crappiness and add in a better GUI and more features.
  • MSN Messenger - Only decent IM program in my opinion, even if it is Microsoft.
  • NetTransport - Best download manager I'm yet to see.
  • ESET Nod32 - Better than Norton Antivirus, not as good as, uh...

Oh, come on - Asking such a thing is basically asking for anti-AUP conversation.
If I'm not mistaken, most (if not all) of the apps he has listed are free Unix apps.

Uh, he wants to know how much other users payed for their software. In other words, 'will you admit to being a software pirate?'

No, thats no what I mean at all. I was making a point: Linux offers equal or better funcionality and conveniece for a significantly better deal than Windows. And the fact that it seems everyone is interpreting this comment that way speaks volumes. (When I used windows, I paid for the software I used.) Something on your conscience, guys?

- MS Internet Explorer

- Winamp
- Dreamweaver
- WS_FTP95 LE

-> those 5 + a certain p2p file sharing program
