Oh God why, with top 1'000 I still have a chance to get this damn aircraft but it may be a bloodbath for my wallet...
Top 200 I will pass, no problem, top 3000 no problem either because I definitely can get it, but top 1000....
I manage to score around 1K pts/sortie with a fighter, in 4 players rooms they usually go on ground targets leaving the sky to me, this means I can go for MVP....
Seal Clubbing is not even necessary in co-op to get a top spot without spending a TON of money, if you play with a bit of strategy!
Last one:
Finished 571 place with 81K pts and 23 units of stocked fuel left and started with 60 units (I could even aim for top 200, but for a single nickname I've passed), the Black Hornet is MINE, yay!
Emergency air strike was a complete mess, S rank with 4 player is quite a challenge, managed to get MVP with my 6MAA Typhoon lvl 9, 3x forced sortie and contract gave me 150K money.
Naval strike with a lvl 5 Gripen C equipped with rocketlauncher, beaten by 1K pts by a Berkut with UGBs, 2nd place.
Rockets are awesome to use
I don't know why top 200 has the low visibility Aquila logo, while top 1'000 has the Erusea roundel...top 200 should have everything...

I'm not sure of this...
I think the 1,200 cr reward is 90% at least.

I wonder if the low-viz Aquila emblem gives you some special effect like the Phoenix emblem from the first ranking tournament (Phoenix gave red missile trails when used).

Silver trails would be pointless. Stealth missiles would be over the top. Yellow missile trails maybe?

Uhm, with both emblems there's a special MVP music, just like Galm, Wardog, etc... not sure if it's the exact same music, that would be pointless.
Low visibility looks very nice but I prefer the national roundel, as I'm collecting all of those, plus, no chance about top 200 this time!
Mobius 1 is my all time favourite character of the series, so having Yellow 13 in the Hangar would mean a lot to me. Plus I call the "Yellow squadron", my crush's friends ad they are always with her and there's no chance when I see this girl to approach her, first I need to take down the whole squadron or wait until she's not escorted.
Oh, and I call myself Mobius 1 because I'm basically alone in this situation, my allied squadron is a bunch of undisciplined sissies so no help or advices and I can only count to my best female friend, tacname "Skyeye".

yeah I'm a bit obsessed with this game but just a bit.

Guess I have to buy fuel for the first time...Galm and this Hornet were free as I stocked a lot of fuel but now, as another top 1000, I really regret passing the F-14 -Wardog- (back then I had a LOT of fuel), AC5 was my very first AC game

Waiting for project infinity and the last few missions, then I purchase the missions ticket and call it a day, there is simply no time and the best AC stuff is just the top 100's stuff, understandable but not everyone has that time availability.

Well, it may be just a matter of how much stocked fuel you have... In the (3 or 4?) days of the event duration I used every day the 6 supplied fuel over the 24 hours, plus 48 stocked fuel I had, literally, stocked before the weekend, plus the stocked fuel from challenges (like the "go 6 times in missions in 48h" and "complete a co-op mission in S rank") plus the stocked fuel received in the rewards at the end of the missions. It didn't take even so much time, as by using every time supplied/stocked fuel x3, I exausted everything in 1h and half in the first day and then just going 1 unit each mission to complete more challenges. And still got 997th position which is, in truth, barely enough.

About stocked fuel, there is a maximum number that you can stock or not? Because if not, for next time I'll wait to have even more stocked fuel to maximize even more the Elite Contract (which I already used 1 this time, as I wrote in page 40 and gave me huge credits along with x3.5 credits for x3 fuel usage)

I tend to agree with you. Although my frequency of sorties has rather dropped lately (the game starts to get a little tedious IMHO) after the last 20+ sorties of this weekend and Monday I only got 1200 cr and one 600 cr reward...

Still getting the same random drops as you guys. At least now though I'm only $200k away from level 10 on my F-35. I got surprisingly high payouts last night too, I had $20k from one sortie in a 6 player room we S ranked. I think I MVP'ed, but the sortie before that I didn't and still got like $19k.

A trade option will be nice but since we get money instead of skins, emblems we already have I don't think this will be possible, also I would like to get back the nice quantity of soul caliber emblems I got.
As of now, except for Idolmaster and Xevious emblems I got all the drops available, skins, sp aircrafts and emblems (this includes the full collection of soul calibur stuff, just lucky because I was burning a lot of fuel during the black hornet tournament).
Anyway payouts and research are still low for me, unless 3x forced sortie+mercenary contract.
1 sortie= around 10K, with merc+3x fuel goes 100k (maximum I got was 159278)

This is 100% my situation as well. I love Infinity but the game requires a high amount of dedication and commitment if you want the best out of it. I want to play but the time I have available barely permits it.

Found one today, easy to think that after the first mission (which I was the last one I joined in), i noticed this and left the lobby, sending a message where I say him he is a loser.

Found one today, easy to think that after the first mission (which I was the last one I joined in), i noticed this and left the lobby, sending a message where I say him he is a loser.

Same thing, I'm almost 1900 (187X) and sometimes I get kicked from 1900/2000 rooms.
I kick butts and my ass gets kicked in both 1700 rooms and 2000 rooms, so well...sometimes is a matter of luck.

But meh, kicking high rating players just so you can get lot of points for event... It's just pathetic...

@LJP64: I know your farm can get another slow, but I found that the smartest thing you can do it's to stock 45+ stocked fuel like I did untill last week, activate a mercenary contract (maybe along with the other one if you got) and exhaust everything in the weekend with x3 fuel (x3.5 credits earned). I got around 1 milion or even more in that 12-contract-hours with the starting 3 supplied fuel and 47 stocked + 5-6 stocked got from challenges rewards and mission rewards + other 2 supplied in the next 8 hours, before mercenary expiration.
Obviously, as you gonna do a lot of games and so lot of points, to do an even better thing you can do this in a weekend where an event with an aircraft you like is placing on. I got F/A 18-E Black Hornet last week with 997th place by doing this, althought it would be better to do this week for the top class Su-37 Yellow 13, if only I knew this before.

How the hell could you stock 47 fuel units in one week??
A S-ranked mission will give one fuel unit, but the cooldown time is several days.
6 sorties will give you one more, but if you just use supplied fuel, this means 2 days to get the stocked fuel unit.
Plus a couple of fuel units in the dropped crates... This means several weeks to stock 40 fuel units.

I'm currently around 1620 in rank. I was near to 1700 at the end of August but I left on vacation and did not play for 2 whole weeks and my ranking dropped.
Anyway, as I said, yesterday was 3 S-ranks, and 2 MVPs, and my scores were around 55,000 pts every time. I don't understand why I got such ridiculous payouts.

Getting this Yellow 13 will be a hard time. Many stocked fuel units will be necessary and the game will be spoiled by those lazy boosters loitering in lower rank lobbies. I will not make the slightest effort to get this plane, once again.

In fact I didn't use those stocked fuels for 3 or 4 weeks.

You got 1 every day for the "play 6 co-op missions in 48 hours", which with the 4h cooldown each supplied, means 6 matches each day and it have low cooldown if you do this, so that the morning of next day, you got it again avaliable along with the "destroy one TGT or SP target", "play 3 co-op missions in 12h", "Score 30.000 in 6h", etc.
Adding to this, the 1 stocked each 3-4 days for the S rank challenge, plus sometimes you can get it from co-op rewards. And every week you have the "collect rescue bonus 20 times in 48 hours" which give this also the stocked fuel
So means that each week you can get up to 10 or even more stocked fuel, depending on your luck with drops (remember, 6 chances every day). A theorical calculation considering the drop chance, is:
1*7 (6 missions in 48h, but done every day) + 2 (from S rank challenge) + 1 (from rescue challenge) + 3 (from drops) = 13 stocked fuel each week.

I got an advantage last week, as for 2 times servers got problems, so they gave us 6 free stocked fuel, which I added to my pool.

Currently sitting well within the top 500 as of writing this post; used all 6 stocked for the day + 4 supplied to complete the 10 sorties for 3 research reports challenge (the host in one of my missions got disconnected during Stonehenge out of all places so that counted as one sortie without having to use fuel ).

I won't sortie any more than needed for the daily challenges until maybe after at least one day of forced sorties has passed. Figured this is a good way to find out which ranking bracket is realistic because there's no point in aiming for the top ranks if stocked fuel will just be going to waste.

This is the way Namco have restructured their tournaments unfortunately... You used to be able to join 2xxx rooms and still get up to 2000 ranking points per mission as a low MR player because mission complete time was the more important factor.

@Paulie when you get the $10k+ payouts do you get anything in the 'credits reimbursed' section after the mission is complete? If you do it probably means that there's nothing being researched so you get a credit bonus instead.

Yeah the Su-37 -13- is a sweet plane. I like how they've literally mirrored the F-22's stats and special weapons; it's almost like they're hinting at the Mobius 1 / Yellow 13 rivalry!

I sortied on nothing but supplied fuel during the Black Hornet tourney and my ranking points are about 1/3 of what rank 1000 had. Going by that: ([5 days x 6 supplied per day] + 60 stocked) = ~90 fuel needed for that Hornet. Hope my very basic math () helps those who are thinking about going for the top 1k. It will probably be more competitive than the last one though so be cautious if you're planning to buy fuel...

This also means that you have to play at least 20 sorties a day...
Which in my particular case is impossible, my job takes too much of my time, I can only play on evenings and on week-ends (although not every week-end).
Not enough time, which means no need to burn all my hardly earned fuel for nothing...
