Servers are down. Week 13 goodness is about to start. For those playing those other sims, you're missing out. This is an amazing update to iRacing, lots of new content including COTA and the new BMW race car (which sounds amazing by the way.) I hate having to pay to play a sim like this ... but they just keep rolling out update after update with great new content. Hard to argue the value. COTA!!!!

I don't know, $50 a year (if you re-new at the right time) to keep getting regular updates to further improve the sim and actually have the developers listen (usually) to what people want, it sounds like a helluva bargain to me.

I missed the update of the C6R when I looked at the notes...sweet!
I'm not at all opposed to paying for a service like this when it works as advertised by the builder and that's the value of iRacing. Is it $11.95 per car...yes. Is it $14.95 per track...yes. You for sure get what you pay...quality product.
Along with iRacing's new build, putting a new build on my PC for Season 2.

I'll tell you where I get a little bent out of shape about it. I don't mind paying for the cars or the tracks. That's fine. But once I've bought them, I should own them ... meaning, if I want to fire up the game and drive the car I bought around the track I bought ... I should be allowed to do so whether I'm currently subscribed or not. That bugs me. But ... yeah, I guess until someone makes something better ...
 
I got all the new content as well. The Z4 and toyota gen 6 as well as COTA and lucas oil raceway. Stuck working until later wont get to race for a few hours and it always works out where Im updating at prime time so it takes forever it seems to update lol. Anybody get to try out the new stuff yet?
 
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who hasn't fired it up yet. I got a high school golf match until 6 :( But after that... ITS TIME!

Lucky! :cheers: Is anybody looking at running in global challenge since its a fixed series and they updated the cady with abs and tc? I might have to give it another shot now with the updated cady and not having to work on setups. Can't wait to try the Z4 at COTA, the SLM at lucas oil and the toyota gen 6. One cool thing Im glad the toyota has is the dash setup from kyle busch's car. I was wondering what dash setup they were going to use in it.
 
I'm racing a League race tomorrow in the Ruf Track @ Suzuka.
So for testing reasons, I just drove the Z4 there .
I'm a full second a lap faster in it.
 
Just left the office to grab lunch at home where I drove the new Z4 at COTA. Awesome. I've been to the track 10 times in the last 2 years and it's more difficult than I imagined. It's one thing to know the lines from watching on board videos, it's another to take a virtual machine and run it through the esses. Great stuff.
 
Buying the Z4 and COTA (like everyone else is mostly) and thinking of the Silverado and Star/Pro Mazda..
 
Problem I have with COTA and me no knowing it is that it's like a lot of the new Tilke circuits. The whole last section is full of non descript corners which are really hard to memorise.

Don't like that it's a "fixed" but I want to drive the Caddy.
 
Colored wheels FTW!!! And yeah, just bought the BMW and COTA. I'm not a BMW guy, would have skipped it but dang it sounds good. I could listen to that all night long. That's what a car is supposed to sound like in a racing sim. Damn.
 
Bmw is pretty good to drive but for me atleast it has a little bit of the Ruf syndrome where it doesnt like to shift out of 1st sometimes. But COTA is definitely an FPS hog, probably the worst one out of all the tracks ive gotten so far. Anyways time to start painting my new BMW Blu e-cigs livery.
 
I'm playing around with this Brass Monkey Program, it's pretty good considering it's free. The HUD is solid, tried using it for the car controls LMFAO I really hope i am never in a race with someone using it that way.

Anyone else having connectivity issues when trying to load an open practice session on COTA in the Z4?

Waiting on you guys to tell us all about those cars!!
So far people are reporting the McLaren to be a bit more tail happy and definitely more composed over bumps and kurbs. What about the Ruf, anything different?

BTW, I have a practice session up for tomorrow's CMS GT-3 E race at Mosport, feel free to jump in and try out the new car and build guys!

Star Mazda is a blast now! The DP is for sure different, didn't have a setup or anything so I can't really comment.

The mclaren at COTA was a blast and a half! At the west circuit I battled with two BMWs for about 5 laps. Was really fun!
