Assetto Corsa Competizione PC Update Adds 2021 GT World Challenge Liveries

A new update is available through Steam for Assetto Corsa Competizione, adding all of the liveries for the current season of the GT World Challenge Europe.

Officially a hotfix, v1.7.12, the update actually brings a number of changes to game physics, UI, gameplay, and graphics, with the 2021 vehicle liveries described as “bonus content”.

Aside from keeping the game up to date, the addition of the current liveries has a more significant function this year. Across 2021 the series’ teams will be competing for the overall title in 20 races across three disciplines: sprint, endurance, and esports.

The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Esports Cup will see teams entering one driver per car for virtual, one-hour races at the five endurance rounds of the championship. There’s been two races so far, won by Arthur Rougier for Emil Frey Lamborghini and Kelvin van der Linde for Team WRT Audi, and the Emil Frey squad currently leads the standings on four points.

Viewers who’ve watched the two rounds thus far will have seen a mixture of 2020 and 2021 liveries, with the second round at Circuit Paul Ricard better representing the current season. With the full set of 2021 liveries officially added to the game, the real-world drivers will be able to race in their own cars and players at home will be able to recreate it.

In addition to the 2021 liveries, there’s also two further special “bonus” liveries both related to esports events supported by ACC. The BMW M4 GT4 has a new livery for the BMW Sim Time Attack series, while the McLaren 720S GT3 gains a livery for the upcoming new season of the Logitech McLaren G Challenge.

As well as the liveries there’s a number of fixes and tweaks in the update. That includes fixes for Oulton Park’s track map and pit entry bug, balancing tweaks for the Honda NSX GT3, Ferrari 488 GT3, and Bentley Continental GT3, and a a fix for the backlight on British GT number boards.

The update is available for free now via Steam, and console players will likely see a similar update in a few weeks.

Still waiting for vr to improve And ui to improve so you can use vr better. Still have to use keyboard to do certain things. Keeps forgetting set ups for which wheel your using and keep having to edit buttons to use.
