Codemasters and Eden Games Team Up for Free-to-Play F1 Mobile Game

F1 fans will get not one, but two games based on the sport this year. Codemasters has announced F1 Mobile Racing, a new free-to-play title coming to, well, mobile devices later this year.

F1MR will be the first of its kind when it touches down on the App Store and the Android Market. Previously, Codies has offered mobile versions of other titles, such as F1 2016 and F1 Race Stars. The Southam, UK developer will be teaming up with French-based Eden Games (of Gear.Club fame) for this latest project.

The open-wheel racer will feature all of the teams, cars, and tracks of the current season. It will also feature multiplayer, though there’s no word on what if any connection it will have to the current F1 Esports series.

Perhaps more surprising, players will be able to develop and tinker with their very own F1 cars. This is a first in the franchise, and we’re very curious to see how it’s handled — and if it makes its way to the F1 2018 on consoles when it launches August 24.

Speaking of release dates, there isn’t one for F1 Mobile Racing at the moment. Stay tuned for more updates as we get them.
