SCEE confirms European GT4 launch date

so on my 25birthday (4march) i can organise a race event with fam and friends like every year but this time with GT4 ;)

so i hope it's true or i still need to import and mod my ps2 :(
 
I can't understand, why some US-people in here, are so disappointed about their GT4-release...

Ok, you didn't get GT Concept, and you also didn't get GT4 Prologue...

But why aren't you just happy, that you will get GT4?! :confused:

Sony has payed an advert for Gran Turismo 4 in magazine that I'm contributing for, for February issue - we're out on 15th January.

Due to my informations, nothing has been changed from the PAL release date scheduled in November - the european release date is 23rd February 2005.
 
Good news about GT4, not long to wait now.

I have to admit im surprised that it appears we european users will GT4 before America. Don't know why that it is as it is normally the very opposite. But hey you can't always complain you got Metal Gear Solid 3 back in Novmember and we don't get it till March, so it's give and take. :)

Just a quick question - ( I don't want to have to start a new thread just for this )does anyone in the UK no if the DFP is out yet in the UK as I cannot find it in any retail shops. If any has it please could they inform where they purchased it from. Thanks.

I wouldn't go as far as calling Sony/PD/KY racist or anything like that but I do believe it's really *****D Up that the last GT game the U.S. received was GT3 while everyone else got either/and/or GT:C or GT:P while the U.S. was totally ignored!

(And lets not forget those two Demo Disks...but I can see why those would not come across the pond)

What's up with that? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was more of a marketing move then anything else, at least that's what I keep telling myself! LOL!

I think Sony is releasing the game based on other countries 'closeness' to Japan.....The closer you are, the sooner you get the game! LOL!

In either case, I'll just be glad when the day comes that I get the call from the store from where I pre-ordered GT4 from & here those words I've been waiting on since last September...

I'm in the UK Jows and I bought mine last Aug for GTP, I got it directly off the Logitech Europe website, worked out at about £110 with delivery mate.

so the game will be released in the US probably 1 or 2 weeks after the UK release...
99% of the games (on all platforms) is released in the US way before there is any sign of a releasedate in europe.

Sure, it sucks if just the one game to hit the stores in the UK before the US is the one you are waiting for so long, but come on. Come live in europe and you will get the same thing with most of the games.

Btw, still only 25 feb for UK, and as ppl posted allready, in a lot of other european countries the releasedate is still uncertain.

I wonder if gt4 will have spanish, german and french and a KM/Mile switch.
Or if that might be the reason some ppl say it's march 11.
Did gt3 UK version have other languages and a km/mile switch?
 
I think there is only one language (English) for the PAL versions because GT4 is now already 9,6GB and adding other languages will make the game only bigger. And why do you need other languages.
We speek dutch in our countries cryothic and dutch isn't in it so I don't care what language choice you can choose from because I'm used to english

About the kmh/mph switch I thought I read something about it that you can change it but most countries in Europe have kmh instead of mph. So I don't gonna search for mph in the options.

The game "only" has 5.7 GB, so there enough room left for other languages.

You can't change it in the Japanese version, but it may well be that you can in the European. On the other hand, Polyphony does a lot of things I don't understand, so I wouldn't bet on it.

That's the same sh** we heard about the JP release...and we're still waiting!
I'll be happy when the game gets here! Until then...oh well!

Yeah, but that article is from November 04, before the first version of GT4 was released. If you check the amount of data on the DVD, you'll see it's only 5.7 GB.

Well, I know it doesn't come in dutch. I want it in english.
And I don't want to switch to MPH.

I just thought of a reason why ppl are saying march 11 in other countries, and sony confirms february 25.

I thought it might be because of the other languages. If PD programmed the game in a normal way (which I assume) the text will be readable from "plain" text. That way the complete text of the game could be fitted in a couple mb :)

Yep, that's about it right there.

But I guess we have to realize that we are in teh minority of people that have been "waiting" for GT4. Most people don't realize it's been delayed 5 times.

I really don't like the fact that the largest market has to wait for the longest time! :grumpy: I mean I'd rather wait another month or two for them to tweak something. But 2 weeks? What can they do with 2 weeks? :indiff:
 
I think its funny how they moved it to within a month of the forza launch, we hardly EVER get games last, This kinda supports my theory that they are trying to pit it against forza.

Btw I have heard mumblings of us getting it in april, HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely, but I have heard it.
 
I'll say it once and I'll say it again... I still think that the stores already have the damn game. They are just building up a surplus of copies to avoid a wait period for those that weren't able to get the game. I still think it will just appear some time very soon too. :irked:

lol. Havnt you heard of a thing called translation?

If shops did have them allready through contacts i would have mine by now thats for sure. If you saw some i can assure you they were black cases for advertising purposes
