I know T10 is American, but would it kill them not to offer USDM versions of European cars? That Golf is going to bug me as I think the MK.3 with the arch extensions is the best looking Golf of all.

GT5, when you get a chance, can you post a real life pic of both showing what you are talking about? I don't follow the European versions of the same cars that are in the US.

Thanks! So for the extensions, are you talking about the trim added around the wheel wells?

Well, I normally do like those. But in the case of the image above, I think it would look better if they were body colored. Just my opinion. Having those black like that give me the impression of off-road or CUV look. Similar to what Subaru does.

If they did that they'd have to include other regions and all the differences for all cars as well. The bumpers in the US are different. No textured top options so no point in offering the textured arches. You can always paint it up in the game though ;)

Also due to crash testing regulations differing in various regions, bumpers look different because they have the bumper skins that have to fit over different supports underneath. Shorter, stubbier, etc will usually be differences. And the front euro bumpers have the recesses for euro plates where we just have smooth bumpers. Doing euro bumpers on all watercooled VWs is a big thing here.
My Audi in the states is a euro spec S-Line A4, for the model here it was the UltraSport Package and include both front and rear euro bumpers. In Canada however they only did front crash testing so the same model has euro front bumpers but a standard US spec rear bumper.

For developers they judge their success not just by community response and of course reviews. Game Sales are what matters.

Does anyone know out of curiosity what is the No.1 Selling X360 Racing Game to date? Im thinking if FM4 doesnt become that then their is something badly wrong particulary with the Top Gear content this has to be a major success for X360 platform.

Well, that is the thing. I haven't seen a single television commercial for the game. If we don't see a commercial for the game during the launch or over the holiday's, it won't sell well.

FM3, then FM2, then PURE(That surprised me!)

FM3 was all over the UK channels, two years ago.

I am pretty surprised TBH. Gears of war has had coverage.
Not much else.

Pure was involved in a bundle here in the UK, a couple of Christmases ago. Maybe they got the figures that way?

Jamezinho
Yes, I remember it well. FM3 got a lot of advertising space on UK TV.

"This isn't imitation but an invitation".

If I remember correctly.

If they haven't got the guy who does the cinema trailers, you know the fella, sounds like he smokes 40 a day saying

"Forza 4 where premium comes as standard (spec1)". It's a no sale.

Hell no they just need clarksons voice and some game clips...

Edit...
So FM3 is 4.94million units.
Polphony Digital list GT5 as selling 6.3 million units in under a year.

So I guess Microsoft will be looking for greater figures as the development costs on this game have to be incredible and as their AAA racing title it should increase console sales and even Kinect. Never mind putting a bit more money into the coffers of Fanatec's shareholders :)

The amount of times Dan has stressed that Jezza hasn't been given a script and hasn't been edited has lead me to believe.

He's said some controversial stuff.

Popes,royalty,Donkeys and caravans beware.

Ive been seeing FM4 commercials on comedy central here in the states. Quite a bit actually..but the commercial isn't in HD.. Seems like a lower res youtube promo port..a slimmer version of this.

A lot of hardcore gamers watch "G4 TV;" the "For Gamers" television network that most television providers now carry. I can almost guarantee you that they have covered every aspect of the game along with many commercials and tv spots.

Anyone notice Shift 2 with only a measly .23 million xbox 360 sales  Hopefully Porsche will get these numbers someday and jump ship.

Don't take me wrong Chris, I hate almost everything EA, and obviously got some more bad wishes for those mediocre ***** when they said no to T10 about Porsche.

Now, if we add up ALL the NFS sales on that list...

Doesn't matter if they take advantage of the license or not, money is money, sad but true.
