I guess thats what makes this game err...realistic? Very strange but enjoyable.
 
Tried it a few times and managed an 860ft jump 200ft in the air. Some cars seem to work better than others.

One time I tried it, the car stayed in the playground but Niko went through the windscreen and landed way out in the ocean!

edit: It's really annoying that this game doesn't give you your distance/height/flips when you do a stunt. All you can do is check your stats to see if you've beaten them. That was stupid of Rockstar to remove that. Don't they know that stunting and trying to break stunting records is a big part of the game for lots of people and having these posted on screen after a stunt is very useful?

There's a playground in the southeast of the first island, due east of the Pay'n'Spray. Take a car there and just do what's shown in the video, drive the car into the centre pole of the swings and see what happens! You might have to try a few times before it works.

I've been experiment for the hour with different vehicles and trying different things, and my best height so far is 200ft and my furthest distance is 1200ft.

I dunno every time i try this, my car hits the stuff behind the swingset, and i go flying out the windshield into the ocean. :lol:
 
So I drive up to the swing set but nothing happens, am I missing something?
 
If you accelerate a car into the middle pole of the swings, it should eventually just ricochet off at high speed. Try it a few times, maybe with a different car. It should only take a minute or two at most to get it working. Every so often you'll get lucky and the car will fly off into the air right across the map.

BTW, there's a way you can prevent Niko from flying through the windscreen...
 
Ok, I'm probably just using the wrong vehicle. I tired it with a pick up but that might be to heavy or something.
 
Just park a car right up against the middle pole, just like in the YouTube video, then hit the gas and it should work.

What's that? I've flown through the windscreen every time on single player, one time the car flew back through the city and Niko cleared the land to the east and landed in the water!

I'm trying to get my camera memory card to work so I can post a couple of pics, you get awesome damage sometimes when the car flies into stuff.
 
Instead of going forward into the swings, reverse into them, Niko won't go through the windscreen if you do that.

My furthest distance so far is 1520ft and my best height is 404ft, both were done with a Patriot.

Ah right nice one, cheers. Makes sense really. I tried reversing into them in multiplayer but didn't think about it on single player!

Seatbelt doesn't work at all, I've tried that.

I wonder what is triggering that--- I sort of got it for the III, VC, & SA superjumps--- this one seems different---- any other swingsets around to try??

You should try this one, it's very easy. I'm trying to narrow down different methods and vehicles that are more effective, but not a lot of luck so far. I thought that small light cars like the Blista Compact were working best, then I tried a Patriot and launched it 1500 ft!

The most I've been able to figure out is how to prevent Niko from constantly crashing through the windscreen and how to aim it to best avoid the nearby buildings, and both of them were obvious.
 
If you reverse into the swing then you won't get thrown out of the car.

I've recorded several jumps of mine which I'll post in about an hour - excuse the laughing. :lol: There is a HILARIOUS one at the end when I get busted.
 
I've seen someone do it with a bus! That was funny!
Great fun, I got launched into the air in a car and then landed on a railway track just in time for the train to hit the car as it landed-hilarious!!
