it hasnt made massive progrees from previous GT titles considering the 5 years in development. but non the less at the same time im still enjoying the game. so both really.:)
 
lol. if GT5 a disappointment to some of you, what on earth are you doing here? trying to find some same minded folks and tell the world you dont like it? :)

well I dont like beans and hate Harry Poter!
 
Great game, just lacks some stuff.
Didn't live up to the hype but that's what happens when you over hype something.
 
I didn't vote because it's not a great game and it's not a complete disappointment. You could do with another option or two on that poll.
 
Where is the option for both?

It's still pretty much all I play, I love the sense of actually driving it gives. But I am hugely disappointed in both some of the things I wish it did but doesn't and some of the things it's just plain bad at.

I'll say that GT5 is probably the best driving simulator, but the game within is lacking.
 
I think your about a month too late with this.
As Tvensky points out, many of the disappointed have already moved on from GT5 and GTP.

All I can say to those that think it's a great game:
They must have never played GT4.

same here, but the thing is what I know for sure, when GT4 was released it was BEST of the BEST of the BEST at the time, the one and only. We all loved it for sure.

When GT5 hits we played GT5P for 2 years and GT5 is the same with more 200 more premium cars and + 30 tracks.. we all waited for 1000 best looking cars ever made on PS3 and 70 best tracks.. all we get is short career and fixed online (and its not fixed in features department yet)

Still great game, and best I ever seen or played Ever! but for sure we all know PD can do 10 times better than this!

EDIT. most important for GT is physics.. they are mind blowing! It seem many forget about them, Those physics are the thing where those 5 years went. and some 300 cars are so detailed sometime I dont belive what im playing..

It's a great game, but not necessarily the best.
Not enough events etc.
But I really do love the racing itself.
It's a great game, but GT4 is slightly better.
I'd rather have GT5 now unfinished than GT5 next year with it fully done.
 
It's a great game that could have been better.

It's fantastic, really, but I don't really see where it's got THAT much over GT5:Prologue.

Can I say that I'm a bit disappointed it wasn't greater than it is?

But here's the real test: Have you played it nearly every day since it came out? I have. More than 2.5 months now, and I've played nearly every single day. I'd call that pretty fekkin' great.
 
You have to admit. A third option would have made it pritty boring and a typical vote.
Let's just keep it the way it is now, to heat up the discussion, and that's exactly what just happened.
Just offering two option is what makes this vote special.

My personal favorite GT game is GT3. GT4, great game, is more like a 'complete GT3' experience, or a GT3 1.5. I should have skipped GT3 in favor of part 4... Should I have skipped both GT3, 4 and Prologue in favor of GT5?

Online racing... ? Open lobbies are s**t, but if you race with friends it's much more fun than anything else...
 
Dont forget most important part - how GT5 is different with GT4 -

answer - GT4 did not get updates, GT5 is only 2 months out, It have 2 updates already, It will have next update in this weekend. and Updates will be here for some time for sure, This game will expand and be fixed, hope in a good way.

we live in PS3 age now.. now all games are released unfinished (90% for sure) and later get updates.. modern age lets developers to continue work on teire projects.

Patching games is considered a bad thing actually. The good ol' console videogames were all of a better quality, with the fact they could not update the game if something is messed up.

I'm confused here.
How can it be great and not the best.
Possibly we have a fundamental difference in the application of the term "Great".

I like the racing itself as well and some other aspects which are somewhat great in themselves, but its still way short of I would consider great as a total game.

Personally I don't think another year would have made that much difference.
They had almost six, and this is all we got?
 
I would have voted for somewhat of a disappointment. I don't fall into either of your choices. There's some great aspects to the game, but I am very disappointed with other aspects.

I know that. but I rather play it now... not in 2012 when the world will end.. lol
