This is a Tuesday session of the Wednesday Lemons to Le Mans series. This will follow the same rules and the same schedule. I will be the steward for this session, but it is still Huyler's series.

If you are interested, please let me know. Send me a friend request (a_garris) and send me a PM on the forum or an email to my vol.jbolaz Gmail account with your car details.

News
  • The fourth race will be Tuesday 19 July at 22:00 EDT (Wednesday 20 July at 02:00 GMT)
  • The results has been published.

Standings!

Objective
Purchase a cheap car that has 375 performance points or less and show up to the first race. After each race, points are awarded based on placement and totaled at the end of the series to determine the winner. Extra credits are awarded to spend on your car as well. The loser gets the most credits to improve their car while the winner gets the least. The goal is to rotate out leaders by giving underdogs a little more to spend on their cars. Run whacha brung and hope for the best finish each week. Pit strategy and accident avoidance will play a key role.

Initial Vehicle Selection
  1. Race Cars, Rally Cars, and Tuner brand cars are prohibited.
  2. Car must start at or below 375pp AFTER a complete engine and chassis refresh.
  3. Car must have at least 200 miles at 375pp.
  4. 0-mile cars are only allowed if they are at 370pp.
  5. Car must be between 19xx-1999. Newer cars are prohibited.
  6. For cars under 375pp, power and weight mods are allowed for the first race to get it to 375pp.
  7. Any modification that does not directly affect pp is not allowed for the first race. This includes:
    Chassis reinforcement, transmissions, drivetrain improvements, and suspension improvements.
    Aero parts will be prohibited from the first race.
  8. Ballast and Power Reduction will also prohibited for the first race.

Tires and Other Freebees
Tires will be free (not included in budget) and compound restriction will increase with each race starting with Comfort tires and ending with Racing tires. Paint, wheels, oil changes, engine rebuilds, and chassis rebuilds will also be free as there is no way to police that sort of thing. Aero kits are not free.

Race format
Time: Tuesday. Room opens for warm-up by 9:30 p.m. EDT (GMT -4). Race starts at 10:00 p.m..
Length: Each race will be roughly 1.5 hours in length
Damage: Set to full -- cars involved in accidents will have to pit for repairs. Accident avoidance is critically more important than speed.
Penalties: Off -- races will be reviewed and points/credits will be deducted as necessary. In short, follow GTP OLR rules.
Starting Grid: TBD
Entering and Exiting the Pits: Do not cross the white line. Yield to faster cars on the track in the first turn by staying on the same side of the track as the pit until you reach racing speeds.

Schedule
1) 28 June at Grand Valley East Reverse on Comfort Soft tires for 60 laps
2) 5 July at Tsukuba Circuit on Sport Hard tires for 75 laps
3) 12 July at Autodromo Nazionale Monza on Sport Medium tires for 40 laps
4) 19 July at Trial Mountain Circuit on Sport Soft tires for 55 laps
5) 26 July at Suzuka Circuit (weather change) on Racing Hard or Rain Tires
6) 2 August at Côte d’Azur on Racing Medium tires
7 9 August at Circuit de la Sarthe 2009 Time Change (full 24hr cycle) on Racing Soft tires

Awards
1. = 20 Points, 0 cr
2. = 16 Points, 1,000 cr
3. = 13 Points, 2,500 cr
4. = 11 Points, 5,000 cr
5. = 10 Points, 7,500 cr
6. = 9 Points, 10,000 cr
7. = 8 Points, 15,000 cr
8. = 7 Points, 20,000 cr
9. = 6 Points, 25,000 cr
10-16. = 5 Points, 30,000 cr

  • Award money can be banked until after next race
  • Parts cannot be sold off once installed (if you purchase a sport exhaust and later want to upgrade to a racing exhaust you have to pay full price for it)
  • Tires are free so money only has to be spent on performance mods

Keeping it Fair
  1. Driver chooses a car and submits specifications to race steward prior to the start of the series.
  2. After each race, car and mods installed will be made public and cars must be shared for others to inspect.
  3. Inspection process will involve verifying parts purchased are what is installed and lap times are consistent with those seen in the race.
  4. Parts chosen for subsequent races must be submitted prior to the start of the next race and will not be made public until after the race is completed.

There won't be a required preseason race, but just incase anyone is interested, I will be starting up a room tonight. It will be at Laguna Seca on Comfort Soft tires.

Since I just launched this yesterday, I don't guess I can really be upset if you scramble to get a car for tonight and find something better by Monday. So what you run tonight doesn't have to be your car for the entire series, but what you run Tuesday night will be what you are stuck with.

Just a reminder that if anyone is interested, they can come out tonight. The series won't start until Tuesday. I'll update this thread with a room number.

My car will be a Mazda Roadster 1.8 RS (NB) '98 Evolution Orange Mica.
375 PP No mods.
For better or worse I have to go with it!
If anyone would like to have a car from my top choices just ask and I will gift it.
All have engine rebuild.

Celica GTR (ST183, 4WS) '91 374pp
Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5l '83 +ECU 375pp
Infiniti G20 '90 359pp
Starlet Glanza V '97 372pp
Altezza AS200 '98 374pp

If I can get the 375 PP MGF, I will run with you guys. Otherwise, mind if I use a 376 PP MGF?

Bender, I don't need the Celica, but if you wouldn't mind sharing it, I would like to test drive it. It never came up for me.

We'll help you look as much as we can, Snoopy, for an MGF.

I have a few other cars if anyone needs one:

Infiniti G20 '90
Lexus IS 200 '98
Nissan Silvia Q's (S13) '88
Nissan Silvia Q's (S13) '91
Honda Accord Coupe '88
Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89
Nissan Primera 2.0TE '90
Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73
Peugeot 206 S16 '99

I might also have a 1970 Skyline, not sure.

I might be up for joining, I'll need to check my inventory for an eligible car (or buy one ASAP). Tuesday evenings usually work very well for me, and I love the idea of upgrading a lemon car to a racing contender.

I'll let you guys know for sure ASAP, PSN ID: Dikarika

Keep in mind that Bender and I have some cars that we tested and are not using. We can give them to you. Though, I'll be out of town most of this weekend, so I may not be able to do that until Sunday evening.

Since I'm running the MGF on Wednesday...I'd be up for driving tuesday it something more interesting...either the older skyline GT-R if it could be sent to me, the Talon (if garris isnt going to run it or the piazza.

I'm interested in this series. Posted in the Wednesday thread but had no response. Gotta get in a few cars before I make my final decision.

53,778 k miles Skyline HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) '70 rebuild to 376pp
probably need to find 80+ k miles car

My trip is over but I'm not sure if I'll be home tonight or tomorrow. When I make it home, anyone want too practice?

Diabolic,

I have a '73. If you want it I'll try to send it before I leave town today.

SLC,

Car selection for this isn't due until Monday. Make sure to send me a freind invite so I can inspect cars and you can join races.

Glad to see there is some more interest. I'll update the thread this evening with drivers. I'll only publish your car if you mention it in the thread. If you want to keep it secret just PM me the details.

Hmm, I'm wondering if I should join in as well on Tuesday...I'd love to pick a different car and see how it turns out...but that would take me away from my 450pp themed nights...decisions decisions.

I'll make everything I do with the car public knowledge. I do want to try the GT-R. Again its down to that car, the 280Z and the Piazza. I tested them the most outside my own and the Talon.

I'm guessing I'll need a 340-350 PP car prior to oil change/rebuild? I'm hoping to bring something FF and hot hatch.

I have a 206 that fits if you want. I imagine the mark I Golf will work, too.

Wow, nine people signed up so far. Huyler would make a tenth.

I just took a look at the GTI and it does have some parts purchased for it, but nothing that can't be removed.

1000 tickets are scary...

Check my garage its all fair game

I have 10-15 cars that I tested for the Wednesday night race that I'm willing to give away. I dont require anything in trade, just that if I send you a free car...you use it for the series or send it back.

UncleBob, welcome.

Diabolic, my 206 refreshed to exactly 375. Did that '73 Skyline work for you? I had a '70, but I think it was 378.
