No Helmet or Suit Prizes!?

It's not a glitch, it has been changed.

If you look at the prize box, it will say paint for first and second place. Third will still give you a horn
 
Well, hunt for the Stiggy's outfit is over... well played PD, forcing us to pay for the DLC eh?
 
What a perfect timing to make the change.
I was prepared to grind like hell during the weekend for new gears. Now I can take some good rest. Well done PD 👎
 
Does anyone know why suit and helmet prizes have been replaced with paints and horns!? We already get paint for logging in! And who the hell cares about horns anyways!? How does one go about earning gear now?
 
Bad news! I just found this as well.
Time trial is giving 1 chip and 2 horns!!Other events give 2 chips and 1 horn.
Hopefully once DLC starts they will revert to the old system.

Heres hoping anyway.

The adjustment just doesn't make any sense. They introduce all this new gear with the update...then take it away. We can't win gear anywhere else. I have a feeling we might have to start paying for gear we were once getting for free...
 
I presume what could be the reason for probably temporary suspension of "Gear" prizes in seasonals.

Apparently, there was many reports how Gear that should be included in upcoming DLC is being randomly given in Seasonal rewards. Few people I know received either WarpDrive helmets or new designs of Scorpion/Mistral suits.

Since the DLC is obviously already downloaded inside the Spec 2.0 update - and will only be "unlocked" by purchasing DLC codes from PSN Store - there is probably some mistake in the code that was giving away Gear tied to DLC.

My presumption is that PD just prevented the servers to giveaway Gear as prizes until they resolve some parts of the in-game code.

I won 1 Desert Camouflage helmet and 1 Flame suit in the seasonals.

Thought it was normal to win some of the new gear.

Yup, and I presume somebody's curvy buttocks at PD is getting grilled right now for not doing proper QA on the random gifting code... which throws their DLC strategy into a mess :)
 
Oh well. Barbie Bob is just going to have to scrimp on some outfits.:sly:

This thing isn't damaging the dlc strategy too much, anyway. Nobody was buying just the racing gear pack, almost all the players who wanted the tracks and the cars pack are just buying the complete pack for a better price.
They just need to avoid this kind of mistakes for the next one and it's ok.
 
Not complaining, but the main thing that is wrong with it, is that you cannot win ANY helmets or suits at the moment, even the old ones, with this current set-up.

Unless they patch it, even after the DLC is released, they will have to keep the "ban" in place, to avoid people getting the DLC for free through Seasonal prizes.

Intersting glitch of events. :)

Says the guy who uses the words "Jesus" and "complain" in the same sentence. I'm kidding, doesn't mean anything. :)

There shouldn't be any more complaining because the issue has been pinpointed. People were thinking we'd have to pay for suits and helmets now.
 
So how is PD going to prevent DLC gear and cars from being traded to people that haven't bought them?

If the gear is untradeable it becomes something I care even less about since I'm only interested in getting enough sets of the same gear to outfit all my Bobs in matching gear...give that team feel to them you know.:D
 
In the past, DLC cars were never tradeable or even shareable. I'm thinking that the new DLC cars will be the same, but that's an interesting question about the new gear.

It will be interesting to see how PD controls the DLC Gear. Maybe the DLC gears only will be untradeable or something. Making all gears untradeable would definitely stink. 👎
 
There is always a update for the update with PD! Just like on the track, you have to have patience.

I got a few of the new style helmets and suits, but thanks to this glitch/'feature'/'enhancement'/'upgrade' I can't get any of the old suits. :grumpy:

I only need Striker-10 of the helmets so if someone wants to trade for that I can at least get gear that way. I have many duplicates in the helmets.

I'm bluemanjoe online in GT5
 
By the way, since 2.0, if you got any duplicate suits or helmets they are counted as '1' and not combined with the other suits/helmets of the same type. Before 2.0 I had a few Horizon helmets that didn't get combined with the other duplicates. Hopefully they can straighten this all out.....
