Anybody got a good set of settings for the '05 Ford GT? Mine are fubared and I am going crazy trying to win the first championship under American Events.

Yeah it's fully modded -- I'm racing against the Viper, but having trouble with others too. The old GT40 is head of the pack usually with an occasional appearance by the Esperante and the Camaro Race Car (wtf????)....

Running R3s that keep burning up about twenty seconds from the finish line, can't keep enough traction with anything else to even come close to the pack.

Ive been tinkering the car the last 2 days and cant find anything that I like, the car is too bouncy. Gets in the air to much on "The Ring". It turns fine but is just way too bouncy and I lose traction. Any ideas?

Yup.. you got it right, wrong car to run. Grabbed a modded Saleen S7 and it molested that race.

Im determined to get this thing working! :banghead:

Damn bro. I was hoping all the $$$ I just pissed away on the '05 GT might come in handy. Guess the car IS a big piece of crap. A Saleen S7 eh? Wipes the floor with it?? GRIN! Guess I just need 400k! :D

There's gotta be a way to tune this beast. I can't get it under control to save the life of me. Somebody has got to have some settings to control this car. I'm starting to feel like either Ford or PD fugged it up,

I bought the Ford GT also then modded the living Hell out of it. Then I found out the brakes are horrible & it doesn't handle worth a crap. What gives, this car is supposed to handle better than a Ferrari 360 modena? (Saw it on Speed Channel last year) Has anyone tweaked the settings to improve the handling?

I think the car handles fine turning left and right but it it gets in the air too much and that causes all the wrecks. Ive tried so many things to keep the wheels on the road but cant find anything good.

My GT is fine, I got NO HANDELING PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER, BUT I DID have all the problem you guys are discribing. To solv the prob, I adjusted the suspention, and learned to ease up on the throttle (this game doesnt take jerky imputs like the first 3 in the series) I'll run the race and post my settings when I get home (but if you run the race over and over and cant win. B-spec the race to see if its YOU, if they loose too then GET a better car)

Im also drawing up a settings competition for the GT(see whos got the best set up), once done maybe the best settings will be able to win the race.

The damn car can't even make a simple corner at 25 mph without under steering off the course & as for the brakes, what stopping power??? There isn’t any even at moderate speeds. For me, that’s just plan pathetic on an epic scale. I bet team at Ford that worked on the real GT is wondering the same thing. How this got passed the programmers & testers is beyond me. THE FORD GT IS ON THE COVER OF THE GAME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Just add this rant to the many others branded as various “bugs in the software”. Four years just wasn’t enough time for Polyphony Digital to get it right.

Yeah it can, I can corner perfect with it, like I said, the problem is when the car's tires dont stick to the road. The car has plenty of power to get you out of corners.

The car sucks because you cant drive? Build some skill and you will stay on the road.

That is one thing I REALLY like, they increased the realizm with the driving dynamics so that the level of throttle imput has more beiring then in the first 3 in the series. This mean you cant SLAM the gass at the apex of the turn, you nee to lean into it, but it takes some skillz to get it all right.

I own a GT '05 and i own an S7, and i like my GT more. I sat down for about an hour on the settings, and mine runs amazing. When i get home, ill post some settings for you.

As for the S7, when that car is modded and tuned, is it really a monster? I drove it stock and thought it was horrible.

Thanks, it would be much appreciated.. The S7 is indeed a bad little monkey modded out. 800-some-odd horses and handles like a dream. Has a little bit of understeer but nothing that can't be fixed with a little tuning.

I have spent hourS and still cant find it.

yeah... I messed up. After lowering the car and it still SLID all over the track I said **** IT! I spent that hour racing rather than tuning. :) I love 350Z LM :: sp00ge! ::

a conspiracy to sell more skylines?

all i know is i bought my GT and after about 2 hours of trying to stop the bounce and get some traction braking and cornering, i havent gone near the thing. i'd hate to sell it cuz its so pretty, but it really hasn't done much for me....and on that topic of skylines....anyone getting tired of the freakin pace car?

Raise the ride height and the spring rates a bit 8 to 12 clicks ( # depends on the track ) to dampen the bounce . set the stabilizers to 5 front & rear . camber 1.8 (f ) 1.3 ( r) put a wing on the thing set to max ( 30 ) f/r (35). Tune your gear box so that the car pulls max revs in top gear on the longest straight on the track. I have the asm set for 10 ( oversteer ) and 0 ( understeer ) tc at 5 brakes set @ 24 / 24 . This car killed everything in the American races that my mustang gt couldnt digest , the wing is a must against race body cars.
remember lowering the car only works on a smooth surface with little or no changes in elevation..if the suspension is bottoming out the car will slide all over the place and / or change direction suddenly..if the springs & shocks are too stiff the suspension wont work fast enough to cope with changes in the track surface and the car will tend to be " twitchy " and spin easily. If you want to decrease understeer you can raise the rear spring rate slightly depending on the existing ratio ( Example..12.5 front 11.3 rear can be changed to 12.3 / 11.8 without totaly messing up the cars handling ) gradual changes work best . same with changing the ride height. If you raise the car too much you will effect the body roll and center of gravity along with the camber . I usually raise my stabilizer settings a notch along with the sprig rates if I will be raising the suspension.

Don't buy the '05 GT, get the Saleen, then go to the pro series and win the final championchip, u get a GT LM Race Car, car is straight up bad@$$, on the drag I got 8.354 sec with that car..handles way better than the other GT's for some reason....

Ledhed's got the right idea. The car feels like a piece of crap initially. As a Ford enthusiast, I was pretty dissapointed. How can a car with 800HP modified, do so poorly against a race viper, a camaro race car and the rest? I'm talking about the American event races. I couldn't get the car to keep up. The purchase of the wing made a BIG difference though. After getting that and tweaking for about 10 minutes, I was able to lead the race for 3 laps or so. Then my tires would melt and game over. I have the same problem with Infineon raceway in that series of races. I'm using the medium race tires. Mechanical improvements aside though, one of the biggest improvements was simply not overdriving the car. The brakes do stink...I will say that. I jacked the front brakes up all the way on the bias, and I brake early and in a straight line to keep the car beneath me. Anything else, and it will kick the car out and slide it all thru the turn. This is part of what burns the heck out of the rubber. I do need to raise the height some, and am thinking of getting a harder compound tire to help out the wear. BUT, first I'm gonna take some camber out of the tires, I think I am way too aggressive with that setting, and I'm not sure if that will make the tires last longer.

There is no setting in the world that helps this car on "The Ring". I have tinkered with the settings for 3 days now, ive quit progressing in the game, it has become my mission and I have failed. I can control the car, but not the control I want out of such a high profile car.

After spending some time chnging settings I was able to get it to where its handling it acceptable, but there's nothing I can do to improve the braking. I'm stunned at how terrible a job the GT does when it comes to braking, it boggles my mind that this is the car that's on the cover of the game box, the manual, and the opening movie.. yet it's one of the worst cars for it's class in the game?

The breaks suck if you fully depress them (slam on the breaks) if you go into them gradually and neve fully depress they work alot better (I HAVE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH THE GT) I won so many series with it (Pretty much All the Pro events and American Events) I was having all kinds of troubles untill I got Super soft tires & reduced the break settings to 20/18 also easing into the break technic is a sure win. BUT keep in mind its a car that takes some skill to drive, Its way to easy to OVERDRIVE the car (Hell its fun to get into the gas on this *****)

but if all this dont work, my only sugestion would be to move on to another car thats characteristics fit your driving style more.......Peace!

:: beems with pride :: God bless ya brutha. Way to take one for the team.
I had a GRAND OLD time buying a used 1991 Honda BEAT and just dumping an INSANE amount of money into it. Fully decked out with rims and a big ole WING. OH MAN it was great. Put that TCS to 8 and set it up for a 100 shot of N0S and that sucker was KILLIN' that Lightweight series. It was great fun. You almost have to have the 100-shot of N0S to get that sucker to speed out of the turns.

A fully tuned BEAT can kill the Lightweight cup and also the Japanese. Compact cup.
