Hey racer buddy person! This championship is focused on driver competitiveness in the fastest GT cars on earth, the Super GT GT500 class! We are using a special entry format that allows for unlimited entries. You must qualify ahead of the deadline for each round in order to be able to race. Sound confusing? Read on!

| Quick Series Overview |
Most Important Things to Know
- Race Start time is 16:00 UTC on Sundays.
- This series uses all three Gr. 2 GT500 cars with BoP On, Racing Hard Tires, Tuning Prohibited.
- This race time was chosen so we can have drivers from all over the world race together.
- Register by clicking the button on this thread. That is where you pick your car, no limits on car choice.
- We use a special qualifier entry system where your fastest lap time is submitted up to two weeks before the race.
- The qualifier is a one-shot only live timed session done in front of a race official in a lobby. You choose when you want to qualify.
- You must join our Discord to be able to race. You do not have to talk, just be able to listen during races.
- We allow for unlimited entries/drivers. The qualifier is how entries are submitted for each round and you only get one chance to submit.
- You will not be allowed to change cars after you set a qualifying time with it.
- Divisions are set by how many people qualify for each event limited to a maximum of 12 in each division.
- For example: If 32 drivers qualify there will be 3 divisions. 12 drivers in D1, 12 in D2, and 8 in D3. Divisions are reset after every round.
- We have multiple divisions so that you can find close racing no matter what your skill level is.
- There are four championship titles to race for: Drivers', Manufacturers', Interregional, and Team
- There are no livery requirements - Do whatever you want.
- Rolling starts are formed by the drivers manually, not using the game's automatic rolling start
- Two weeks between events, no dropped rounds in season 1.
- You must add every steward in this series to your PSN Friends list.
- You must check in to let us know you are going to race 24 hours before the deadline or your time will be erased.

One-Shot Qualifier Format Rules
Qualifying Procedure Overview / How-To Qualify For and Enter This Series
- You will decide on a day you would like to do your qualifier, it can be whenever you want up to the deadline time.
- If there are no qualifying rooms open at the time, registered drivers may look for stewards on the Sigma Discord or PSN in order to request a live qualifier session, you can not start your own room and invite a steward in.
- Once you find an available steward, they will open a room and then post the room number on the Discord qualifying channel and here in the forum thread.
- You will then go into the room and warm-up or practice as long as you would like, please let the steward know if you need extra time.
- The steward will tell you the room is ready and will ask you to confirm the settings.
- Check the room settings to confirm they are correct then tell the steward that you are ready to do your single attempt.
- The steward will then join the track and start the race.
- The race will begin and the steward will leave the track to spectate and observe.
- If anything happens like a disconnect, wrong room settings, or anything else before your first flying lap (lap 2) begins, you may abandon the attempt. It is not until you have crossed the start-finish line of the track for the beginning of lap 2 that the session becomes an official attempt.
- You have 2 flying laps (lap 2 and 3) to set your qualifying time for the event.
- Finish your flying laps and then please exit the race once the steward tells you it is ok.
- Save the replay.
- Wait for the time to be posted in this thread and confirm it.
- Only IGTC stewards may observe, record, and submit all qualifying runs/times including invalidated laps.
- All settings except Room Privacy, Room Name, Max Number of Participants, No. of Laps, and Initial Fuel must be the same as the race.
- Stewards will make qualifying rooms with 'Room Privacy' set to 'Friends Only'
- The qualifier will be run as a GT Sport lobby room race event set to 4 laps - 1 starting/out lap, 2 timed flying laps, and 1 cool down lap.
- The deadline for qualifying is 24 hours before the race start.
- Stewards must have another steward that is not a teammate present in order to qualify.
- All times must be submitted as a post by the steward in this thread for confirmation. Stewards may not post times for drivers they did not observe.
- If for any reason a driver can not find or join a room that their steward created, the steward may choose to run it as a public room. We will not be responsible for any interference during your qualifying attempt by any random players that come into your room and talk in text chat during your session.
- Always save your replay in case your laps come under review for cross reference.
It is important that drivers and stewards make sure their internet connections are running smoothly and reliably before beginning qualifying sessions. But just in case things happen, as they always do, we have come up with back-up plans for times when disconnections happen during official sessions.
- If The Driver Doing Qualifying Disconnects:
You are allowed to reconnect and start from where you left off (must be confirmed by the observing steward) but the lap that you disconnected on will be marked as invalid with no registered lap time. If you disconnect during your out lap, all is good because your attempt has not actually begun yet, just reconnect and restart your session. Remember, the qualifying session only becomes official once you cross the line for lap 2. If you disconnect during your first flying lap (lap 2), that lap will be marked invalid and you may reconnect. However, now only your first flying lap (lap 2) will count. If you disconnect during your second flying lap (lap 3), your first flying lap will be your time. No need to restart the session since your last flyer, the one you disconnected on in this case, is invalid with no registered lap time. In this case we are treating driver disconnections the same as mechanical issues in real life.
- If The Steward Disconnects and Room Closes:
If the steward disconnects at any point in the qualifying session this automatically invalidates the session and you must re-attempt qualifying. If it happens twice, you must find another steward to qualify with.
- A maximum of 4 drivers may qualify at the same time. There must be enough stewards in the room to watch each driver. Try to have faster drivers go first, allow for a large gap of at least ten seconds between cars and please make way for drivers behind you if you are having issues staying on track. Do not be in the way of other drivers doing laps. Your time will be marked as invalid if you gain speed with the slipstream of another car. Drivers must all agree to qualify with each other and live with the consequences, so please make sure the group trusts each other's skills.
- Two tires must be in contact with the track at all times.
- Curbing/kerbs/rumbles and most solid surfaces attached to white boundary lines are track, different rules may be used at certain tracks. We will make sure everyone knows the new rules if we make them.
- Concrete patches, "greencrete", turf, other run off or painted surfaces are generally not considered to be track.
- White lines and curb/rumble strip edges are considered track. Even if you only have a fraction of two tires on the very limit, (to be reviewed and confirmed by officials) it will be considered valid.
- These rules are the same for both regular season qualifying and races. Fastest lap of the race must be clean for the driver to get points for it.
Series Officials and Their Roles
Qualifier Stewards
Please reach out to them on the Sigma Discord in order to schedule a qualifying session. Stewards will post room numbers here so people can see they are online and ready. Please do not send too many messages asking for a qualifying session. They do not have to respond to every message.

Race Directors/Hosts
Volunteering yourself as RD/host is a great contribution to this series and is a role with a lot of responsibility. We need as many as we can get because this series does not guarantee division placement. RDs/Hosts must know the rules of this series very well in order to be accepted for the role. You must have a good internet connection and good ability with the Discord voice command. You must also add every member setting qualifying times as a friend on PSN. Anyone that wants to learn can ask to be taught and be brought on as a Director once they show the proper ability.

Checking In For The Race / Confirming Availability to Race
All drivers must let us know they can race and will race in this thread in the 24 hours before the qualifying deadline. You can let us know that you are not going to race at any time. We will delete your time if you can not race and we will delete your time if you do not let us know you can race by the time the qualifying deadline passes. This helps us make sure the divisions stay as full as possible because the divisions will be locked once the deadline hits. Drivers that were not able to check in but can still race on time on raceday can join the back of the last division if there is more than one spot available.
Setting Divisions For Each Round
- Qualifying positions lock after deadline. Any times from drivers that have not checked in for the race will be deleted.
- You must submit a time in order to start, you may not ask to be placed in the last division at the back of the grid.
- Series organizers will finalize the divisions and post them in this thread and at the top of this post.
- A maximum of 12 drivers will be in each division.
- The final division must have at least four drivers for the race to be official and give points.
- Drivers not showing up to the race will not change the divisions. No division changes will ever be done.
- The pole sitter for each division will be contacted to make sure they understand where on the start/finish straight they will start the race. It will not always be at the start/finish line.
- Two Race Directors/Hosts will be selected for each division. One main host and a back-up in case the main host has issues with members joining their room.
Recommended steps all drivers should do before joining rooms to allow for highest quality racing
- Reset your PS4 and any internet equipment that you can.
- Go into Gran Turismo Sport Options > Network > and Delete Temporary Data
- Join the Sigma Discord Race Control voice channel and mute yourself. The race director will check in here to confirm all can hear them.
- Find the lobby room in Gran Turismo Sport and join. Please find out who the host is and make sure you have them on your friends list within PSN.
- Please do not use the lobby room chat, it causes distractions. If you need to communicate, please do so within the Discord.
- If you get stuck on track or have any glitches please do the instructions on this list over again before trying to join again.
- The room number will be posted in this thread and on Discord, please join as soon as you can.
- Two members from each division will also have their names posted as race hosts. One main host and one back-up host in case the main host has too many conflicts with drivers in the room. Be sure to have them added on PSN.
- All drivers must join their Discord Division Race Control Voice channel as soon as they can.
- Director/Host will confirm communication with each driver by asking them to type "yes" into the Discord Race Control channel.
- Only the Race Director will speak in this channel after the race begins. You can join other Discord voice channels or PS4 parties but keep race control on so you can hear it at all times.
- The Race Director/Host will do communication checks again. Everyone must confirm they can hear the RD by typing "yes" into the Discord Race chat.
- All drivers will be asked to join track, the director will ask all drivers to confirm how many cars they see on track. You can stay in the pits or keep driving.
- If any drivers can not see each other, they will be asked to leave and rejoin the room.
- If this does not solve the issue, a new room will be created. The new room number must be posted in the Discord by the host.
- If drivers still can not see each other they will not be allowed to race due to the danger of an invisible car being on track.
- If the room agrees, the back-up RD/host will make a new room to help with drivers not being able to see each other. The new director must begin speaking as Race Director in the Division's Discord Voice channel.
- The director will give any further instructions at this point.
- It is up to the drivers in the room to agree on how their room will proceed. Please work together.
- The director will now sort the grid order to the qualifying results.
- If everything is in order, the director will start a "stuck check" practice start. The race with start under a grid start and all drivers will do a practice standing start to see if any drivers have the glitch where their car is stuck on the grid.
- All cars must leave the race as soon as they confirm they are not stuck.
- If drivers are stuck they will be asked to leave the room, do their recommended resets and come back.
- If the driver is still stuck then another room may be made. If that doesn't solve the issue, the driver can either decide to not race or another room will be made with the back-up host.
- If no cars are stuck, the race director will double check the grid order and then begin the main race.
- The formation lap will begin in a staggered double-wide formation between 80 - 90 km/h or 50 - 56mph.
- The leader must slowly build up to formation pace in order to make sure all cars are in the group.
- It is possible drivers may be in the wrong grid position when the race starts, please allow them to move into the right place.
- Please do not weave too much or keep unsteady pace.
- The race will begin once the pole sitter begins accelerating.
- Your car's nose must be behind the bumper of the car in the position ahead of you when the race starts. Do not overlap.
- Jump starts will be given warnings or be punished with a time penalty depending on how bad it is.
- If the pole sitter fails to accelerate. The race director will instruct everyone to continue on for another formation lap to attempt to start again.
- If, for any reason, a driver misses the formation start and stays behind still on the track the race will not go on, it must be restarted to eliminate the obstacle.
- Restarting races can be done if there are bad lag accidents in the first three laps of the race.
- The race can not be restarted after the leader crosses the line for the third lap.
- The race may only be restarted one time so do everything you can to make sure the network issues are worked out before starting a race.
- Use the Discord text chat or voice channel to request restarts or communicate about issues. DO NOT USE THE LOBBY ROOM TEXT CHAT.
- The race director/host will wait up to 16:20 UTC for drivers to come in late if not all drivers are present.
- This is a strict time limit, all racing must begin as soon as possible after this.
- You may join late if races have to be restarted or there are connection issues that require making new rooms.
Interregional Drivers' Championship
Base Scoring -
The Drivers' Championship will be scored on a linear scale based on their finishing position in the race. Every car will be included in the classification to assign a base score. The base score is based on the following matrix:
"Division 1" - positions 1-12 following a linear scale from 100 to 78 points separated by a gap of 2 points each.
200, 198, 196, 194, 192, 190, 188, 186, 184, 182, 180, 178
"Division 2" - positions 12-24 following a linear scale from 78 to 67 points separated by a gap of 1 points each.
178, 177, 176, 175, 174, 173, 172, 171, 170, 169, 168, 167
Interregional Teams' ChampionshipThe Drivers' Championship will be scored on a linear scale based on their finishing position in the race.

178, 177, 176, 175, 174, 173, 172, 171, 170, 169, 168, 167
- Further Divisions follow the same point scale as D2.
- Each Sprint race for Round 2 will count as half points each.
- Qualifying will carry a 1 point bonus for pole position for Division 1.
- The fastest lap posted across all divisions will be awarded a 1 point bonus.
- You must complete 70% of the race distance in order to be ranked among the point finishers of the race. Positions for multiple DNF drivers will be ranked according to time of retirement.
- The 70% rule has a one lap grace tolerance. So if 70% of the race is lap 24 and you retire within lap 23, you will still get the bonus.
- Two drivers maximum for each team.
- Teams must be chosen before the deadline for qualifying.
- Team points combine the regular drivers' championship points between the two scoring drivers and applies it to their teams' championship total score.
- Podium bonuses, fastest lap, or pole position bonus points are included.
- Teams are encouraged to have liveries with similar themes.
- Team names carry points which you can not transfer.
- You may leave and join other teams at any time.
- New teams may be made and "join" later in the season.
- Only the top three results for each car make or "manufacturer" in the race will be counted.
- Manufacturer points combine the regular drivers' championship points between the two scoring drivers and applies it to their manufacturers' championship total score.
- Podium bonuses, fastest lap, or pole position bonus points are included.
- Only the top two results for each region will be counted toward the Interregional Cup.
- Your region is not determined by PSN account nation but actual claimed geographical location.
- Cup points combine the regular drivers' championship points between the two scoring drivers and applies it to their teams' championship total score.
Penalties and Racecraft
There are only two rules here which everyone should know:
- More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted.
- It is the responsibility of the passing driver to do the pass safely.
We can race like adults here. We will not be heavily policing this competitive environment. We will not be laying out a penalty system. This series will allow racing to be racing. However, if you feel that a driver intentionally crashed into you, we will investigate and discuss it with both parties. Only if we can prove someone intentionally wanted to ruin someone else's race will we take further action.
Some of these regulations were optimized with help from the excellent series runners over at GTSRL (GT Sport Racing League). An amazingly run Reddit GTS racing league community. http://www.gtsrl.tv/. They run leagues on weekdays with three week championships, one for NA, one for EU time slots. And they run all kinds of other events among the community as well. Click here to join their Discord.
Joining Our Discord
Discord is an important part of running this series smoothly. Every registered member must join our Discord Server. It is a very simple text and audio chat program available for PC, Android, and iOS. We will use it to organize racing information, qualifying rooms, give minute-to-minute updates, live reports, streaming alerts, etc.
Discord Problems and possible easy solutions
- Check if your audio (computer) is actually ON
- Check if you didn't accidentally mute the race director
- Restart Discord
- Get the Discord app on phone/tablet, or download the Discord app on computer. The browser based Discord is known to have voice chat issues.
