Yeah, I think I tried every corner just couldn't make anything stick. You didn't give me any mistakes to work with which is pretty much required for passing on such a small track with slow cars. I was only quicker through the last turn but always ran out of room before T1, and I'm not crazy enough to push it side-by-side through there... best case scenario would just kill our lap times. Too bad for me that straight isn't a few feet longer. Wouldn't be a Flyin' Miata season without some photo finishes though. GR. 👍
Love to have another one like that.

Hey guys, have a SCCA Banquet on Saturday night. Sorry I had to decrease the turn out in Group 2, but I am already committed to going.:banghead:

Ok, so I have the following down for hosting on Saturday:

Group 1: BrosifDuder

Good to go?

Yes.

What lap times are people running around Ascari? I'm in the high 27s and I've still got a good amount of time to cut out.

27.3 was as good as I got but 26s are just a matter of hitting the first and last sector right on the same lap.

Cool. So I'm not that far off.

This course has some sections that I really like but some that I hate which ruin the track for me. I see a few places too that are going to be divebomb city since they are late apex entry and people are going to see that as an invite to leave a donut on your door. But I don't think there will be many close battles on this track since basically one hiccup will cost you .5 seconds or more.

Yeah, anyone that is taking or can take good photos of the races, by all means please share. I can add them all to the flickr account for the series which will be accessible through the Gallery link in the OP.

So hey, I signed up on PURE. Can I get into the second division and race on Saturday? Do I just need to send a friend request to Dr. Watson?

So if you're racing in Group 2 this weekend send a friend request to PURE_DrWatson...

I'll be hosting the late show this Saturday, for the rest of the season add R1600Turbo.

Mind if I put these in the flickr account for the series? Also, would you mind taking photos for each race you attend? You are a lot better at it than me. :p

No problem Turbo, and I will add from the next events as well.

Ran a few laps tonight, just to get a feel for things. Certainly a lot of time to be made but comfortably able to run at 27.5s on a track I'm not fond of. Such a long lap makes it annoying to tell where you are losing time and to improve specific corners.

learning a new track is definitely easier offline where you've got a ghost to test different lines against.

Disregard my time. Typed in a 6 instead of an 8. :dunce:

Barely managing low 28s. I tried different setups for more speed but have no clue how to create one suited for my style.

Phew!! Haha! Think you had everyone in a panic over your 26 haha. Am sure 26s are possible but it's tough to pull the whole lap together.

There, that's better.

LMAO at "Petit Eau Rouge".

Anyone opening a practice room?

Probably in an hour.

The whole track is a joke.
Certain corners are okay but others flat-out ruin the course for me. That and we really should be driving these instead:

Even as one that pushes track limits regularly, I feel dirty every time I go through the first corner even though what I do is technically legal.

So what are exactly the track boundaries on this track? Two wheels on pavement anywhere? One wheel? My best is a 36.5 so far.
