@DesertPenguin09 ,.....I don't mean to "publicly" pick on you but at the same time it's a message for anyone who might find themselves in the same boat as you someday.

This is becoming a very popular series to join, and any given night has up to 11 pre filled spots, with only 5 remaining..

Tonight there were 11 guys fighting for the 5 spots, to join the main event and do 2 40 minute races. When you fill one of those spots, and then quit the first race very early, for any reason, you are basically taking a huge $*** on the other guys you knocked out of koq...

You must have a 50/50 race finishing percentage by now and its ridiculous. You should reevaluate if this league is suited for you.

P.S.temporarily parking where you did right before the tunnel before you decided to exit the race all together was a very stupid, distracting decision.

Maybe make it a goal for yourself to quit the league if you can't finish both races next week.

Season 7 week 1 came to an end tonight with a very exhausted grid from tackling a very hard combo for 80 minutes.

@euclid58 and I did PRT proud, finishing strong in both races and kept the cars healthy. That's all the team could really ask for as it was hell in the mountains tonight.

But next week it's NASCAR style, and PRT has every intention of putting others in the wall while they bump draft each other to a 1-2
Yes it was a rather interesting combo and made for quite the evening. The first race was a gem I thought.
As for next week.......Bring it!

Good races tonight guys. I want to congratulate @ParkerMO125 and his team on nights' victory. Also, not in the least, @brntguy with a great 2nd place in race 2! Everyone raced very cleanly and hard so that was great to see as usual. I want to apologize to my pit crew for speeding in the pits and losing positions and also for a spin in the tunnels. On to the next in the NASCAR series, hope that track takes it easy on us all! :)

Awesome racing tonight, I saw so many great battles and some cool passes, there was a lot of patience in the reverse grid race. I kept getting out of pits when someone was coming so that pit exit was no good lol, getting out right time could of gave someone easily 10 sec advantage.

I want to stay in because I enjoy it when I'm in the thick of things. Putting yourself out of a race is never fun. It's like shooting yourself in the foot just before running a marathon. All that preparation and it's over so fast. I plan on practicing more with other drivers in the field to get an idea of how to keep calm under pressure and not lose composure.

This is why you all are the best and am proud to share the track with all of you. the reverse grid race on lap one was exceptional IMHO. there was many times we all came to a VERY slow speed as we navigated the track on that opening lap and no one forced the issue. Again you all are the best. Have a good night guys. I'll have the results posted by Friday.

I'd be most remiss if I don't come on here right now and just mention that tonight's second race was probably the most intense thing I've been involved with here so far..Don't need to do much debating with myself to arrive at that conclusion.
And that's after doing this around one year.. Tonight made me remember that..

And tonight was both humbling and profoundly satisfying all at the same time..
And it's all of you that makes this so.. It's an honor to get to do it..

Thanks to 3G as always, and also my Teammate for having the faith to let me do this.

Edit: Racing online against other humans that is...Offline for a long time though.

You are missing the point if your plan is to practice with league members to learn to keep calm under pressure and lose composure. If you wreck, you wreck. Everyone wrecks from time to time, hell I wrecked last night.. The point is I didn't say "oh **** it better just quit the race now".. As for your running marathon comparison, you are wrong..it's not like you shot your foot at the beginning, its more like you tripped and fell down..you mean to tell me you think if a marathon runner trips and falls down, he/she is just going to give up? Yeah right...

I don't know where exactly your goal is in terms of finishing position, but you act like a spin just complelety " ruins" your race and its insulting, to every other guy here who gets turned back around, and keeps going..

Last night, I'm pretty damn sure every single one of us spun out or had a bad off at one moment or another from either race, and you are the only one who chicken $***ed their way out of the lobby.

Just put my order in for the obutto r3volution!!!!
:dopey: I'm like a kid waiting to open Christmas presents. It won't be shipped till march 16th but I'm ridiculously excited about getting out of this chair.

You enjoy it?? You are one intriguing fella? @ParkerMO125 Very well put.. Spot on. Unfortunately, he just DOES NOT get it.

Man, its HOT in here! :ouch:

Where to begin?

That was 🤬 awesome!

Since no one was biting on my desperate attempts to avoid KOQ I can honestly say that last night was the most intense and anxious I’ve ever been heading into a race, especially since there was no guarantee I would actually be racing. After KOQ Grimm posted the biggest understatement of the night in “KOQ was intense, just watching it”…No kidding boy genius, you ought to try participating in it (NOT), it was very hard on the nerves to say the least.

Grimm also (from my perspective) posted the best message last night when he told Russ that he didn’t have enough spots for him when he showed up for KOQ and asked him to leave. Parcells almost peed his pants when Russ showed up as I knew capturing the fifth KOQ position was going to be difficult at best but with Russ in effectively there would have been only 4 available positions so whew.

Won’t bore you with unnecessary race commentary, Parcells had a blast, the racing was top notch but I’ve come to expect that and last night was no different. Hopefully I’m far enough into the top ten that a weak performance next week on the stupid Nascar track won’t set me back too much…I plan on turning right at some point next week so stay to my inside guys.

And minor apologies for not quitting out of the 10 minute race qualy right away…suffice it to say it wasn’t a Marlboro that Parcells smoked before the race

Well done on race 2 Brnt, really well done!!!

Where to begin?
suffice it to say it wasn’t a Marlboro that Parcells smoked before the race

That stuff is legal here in Washington! No need to be shy about it

I am the poster boy for spinning out and keepin' on keepin' on. So it's not me, it's you.

Seems like after the CR-Z season I just can't get it together. Lack of practice and lack of concentration.

Whenever I think I've lost a step I always come back to how well I race in the DTC. I know I have the speed to be top 5 but I just can't keep it together for 40mins, or 30...or 15. Going to renew my efforts to stay on track and get out of the basement.

Last night I pulled the old girl out of the garage...you know, the one from last year when we raced her in Sunday Snail? Gave her a oil change and pulled into KOQ. Had to reset the suspension because it said it was tuned...I haven't driven it in that long. From the get go she just didn't feel right and I was a good 2 secs off the pace. I even asked in chat if I had the right tires and PP.

So I miss KOQ. Get ready to log out and play some Destiny when I get the PM from GGG to stand by. And Ken shoots me a text saying the same. No time to buy a new car and paint so I just pop in and race. My best laps of the night end up in the 26's so I know I CAN race in the top 5.

But too many spins in Race 1 coupled with having NO idea how much gas to put in....I tried 30 and 30 and...well, with 7 mins to go I was out of gas and had to pit a third time...added 20 (that should do it right?) and ran out of gas completely a couple of laps from the end.

Race 2 I knew I had to add more fuel, check. I knew I could run up front, check. Ken and I pulled out a pretty comfortable lead. I decide to pit a little early and let Ken go on another lap or two when he decides to pit on the same lap as me ;) Something holds my car up in the pits and I come out 7 or 8 secs behind him. Then it all goes downhill. More spills and thrills and I end up losing a ton of spots after being in top 3 or 4. Decide to pit early and get out of traffic. But I pit WAY too early at 21mins. Have to run the rest of the race on "may pop" tires. End up spinning more and limping home with tires on 2 and run of gas crossing the line.

Anyways...going to really try to keep it together the rest of the way.

It would be nice if some of you might want to come over to DTC this Sunday night if you don't have anything else going. I have been hosting it for two years and this week starts a totally revamped season based on the RCS series and its success.

Click my sig for a link to the series and check it out if you are interested. Otherwise I'll see you guys next Wed. Still not rage quitting after months of disappointing performances ;)

It's really loud and raises the temperature in my room

Again, running at the back with no chance of making up a position, even through pit strategy... just not fun

I'm just not used to the cars yet.

Putting yourself out of a race is never fun

All that preparation and it's over so fast.

You make my head spin. @ParkerMO125 is giving you some sound advice from multiple posts in a very diplomatic manner.
You will always learn more from listening than from talking. This time listen with both ears open.
Suggest you either open a window or buy a fan. Maybe even a new/used PS3.
Don't ever quit again for as long as you race in this series, EVER! You have used up all your "get out of jail free cards"
Which is it? Not enough practice or to much preparation?

Tonight there were 11 guys fighting for the 5 spots, to join the main event and do 2 40 minute races. When you fill one of those spots, and then quit the first race very early, for any reason, you are basically taking a huge $*** on the other guys you knocked out of koq...

Before next race you must make sure your bowels are clear for I am thinking last night was the last time your $*** will stink up the room.

Just so we can put an end to this, action has been taken to address this situation and a rule modification will be coming up shortly. Sorry I hadn't posted this earlier but need to be in a calm state before final decision was made. You can go about your lives citizens. Nothing to see here.

Sweet rig!!! I just picked up an Obutto Ozone myself. The little brother to your choice. Are you going with triple monitors? I Use to use a 50' Sony to race with, now I am using a 27' monitor directly in front of me. The monitor provides better detail and enjoyment. I could only imagine three monitors. March? Hope time passes quickly for you, well worth the wait.

Last night was one of those races that if (and thats a big IF), you could keep your car pointing in the right direction , you were going to have a good result. I have not looked at replays yet but im pretty sure everyone had a spin at some point last night. Hell, I had 4 spins in just the first stint of the first race alone and was down to 14th when I pitted. How I came back to 6th to finish is beyond me other than I saw a lot of smoke from several cars and one very slow Megane on the back stretch (thanks zii). Just goes to show that its not how you start, its how you finish that matters and you never know what to expect.

The ozone is back ordered like crazy so I talked to the wife and she said go for it. I didn't think twice (not gonna miss an opportunity like that lol). However I'm currently using a Samsung 27". I have a 32" but the picture is clearer on the 27". As for now that will be all I use next thing depends on gt7 and the compatibility of g27 on ps4. I may have to get a new wheel and I'm not really fond of the one that is confirmed for the ps4 (I think t300?). It just looks kinda cheap I guess. And even though I dont use it much I quite enjoy the clutch pedal.

But back to the rig. You got a cup holder with yours too didn't you? Have you used it while racing? I wouldn't want to have a freshly opened brew go flying during a race. I've had a gallon of water do that and it's no fun.

Yes, I was very stupid, immature, and blinded with frustration. An hour after I quit I regretted it. I really don't know why I did what I did... again. Start of a new season I should've pulled through. No excuses really. I just wish I could be there next week to try again and not be a total dick. But GGG suspended me in BOTH series for this season. In my opinion too harsh. Give me a week to redeem myself with these new cars. They need a lot of time to get acclimated.

I know I'm a joke, the laughing stock, the guy you all try to avoid. These two series are the only thing I have when it comes to online gaming. They keep Gran Turismo fun and interesting for me. Which is why I'm more pissed at myself than for my actions on track. Because this is something I truly care about and I had a seriously slight lapse in judgement last night. Before this week how often did I ever quit a race early? You can count it on one hand. So this week was "off". I apologize for any and all inconveniences.

Wait, Wait, Wait...I know why...just guessing here, throwing a dart at the board...You're a good driver and just raced your way there. HUGE THANKS for running such an awesome series Grim.

LOL - The point I was trying to make was that these are LONG races and you never know what is going to happen. I knew there were going to be people that were going to go off track at some point during the race. At that point, I was just hoping to finish in the top 10.

Parcells may regret this but if you want to have something to do for the next few weeks DP you are still welcome in my Thursday night lobby. You expressed an interest months ago but never showed up.

With your pace, if you drive cleanly, I can guarantee you’ll have a great time.

But I’m also not as nice as Grimm so if you can’t follow my two simple rules of a) drive clean and b) don’t be a dick you won’t last very long.

I don't want to beat a dead penguin here but you had plenty of chances to clean up your act. The last suspension you received for the same reason should have been warning enough.

The real problem here is selfishness. There are a lot of really cool guys here that WANT to race but don't make it out of KOQ...like myself. Let's say Goofy shows up last night and I don't get to race. Then I find out you bailed a few minutes into the race. I'd be pissed now because you just disrespected me and all my fellow KOQ drivers who didn't make it.

After the fact I'm realizing I could have at least posted here that I was out so the next top driver could have taken my spot for Race 2. :(
