Of course I did my usual 1-2 offs per race and ran out of gas due to the messed up gauge but a top ten in both races keeps me out of KOQ so there is a silver lining :)

Sorry I missed last night guys. My internet went out just before KOQ and was out until about 9:15 ET last night.

Got a little carried away. Enjoy.

Please take more lol. I love them but don't have time to take a lot

Thank you all for a very enjoyable night of racing. I did better thank thought I would have and apart from my adventures with gasoline, I came out pretty happy. Could have been better, but the learning experience was incredibly positive.
Will take some pictures too, send them later this week.

Also, holy smokes, who's this V character and why is he the only one that gets FanBoost? Incredible pace!

Request: Would any of you photo guys mind taking extra shots of my car in action? I know I had a lot of good moments but I'm bad at finding the best angles. Please and thank you. And have a nice day

Cape, awesome pics as usual, we all appreciate the time and effort you put into this week in and week out.

Now, if you'd just get on DP's request, you'd make everyone happy! JK,

You'd make him happy immediately and us happy because we wouldn't have to hear the requests anymore. OR you could set up a private photo tutoring session and he could learn to get his very own awesome photos ;)

I like the last option and I have a feeling you do too!

Glad you enjoyed your first night with us Flip, it was a strange one though and things usually run a lot smoother, but still a good night regardless.
Speaking as one of the slower guys in the series, it is a great place to work on improving your driving skills, and a lot of fun when you get to stay with guys from higher div's! The talent level here is very high, and if you make a mistake it is very costly. My goal is to try and make it through a race without crashing (didn't work out well last night, lol), that alone will pay big dividends. Although there is bumping and love taps now and again, most of the guys here have a lot of patience with drivers that are slower than them and are very respectful.
As for "V", he is just one of those alien types from D1, don't try and figure those guy's out. All kidding aside, I was fortunate to have Parker and Vovik as teammates the last two season's and they taught me a bunch, I just have to figure out how to apply it a bit better on track now! Maybe it's true when they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, lol.
See you next week in KOQ, the most stressful part of the night!

Yeah, I figured I shouldn't try to keep up with him as soon as I saw him turn a 1:44.4xx while I was struggling to get it to 1:46.8xx...

But I think my biggest incentive in joining SNAIL (both Spec and Race Car series) was to learn and get better. GT6 is the first one I've played and the AI was a challenge for about 15 days, so I improved for those days and then was left to my own devices in trying to learn more (didn't work as fast as I would have liked).

But yesterday was one of those days where I could feel myself learning, because when I was practicing, my best laps were all the 1:47.4xx range and yesterday I got very close to a 1:45.9xx lap during the second race, just by trying things in order to keep up with you and brntguy (sp?) and McTrucker and others I'm forgetting. So it's already working!

I'll be back to KOQ next week, maybe I'll even avoid being last one in!

I'm sorry about last night guys. I only had 20 mins of practice and it was on the wrong fuel setting. That and as I said last night I twisted my wrist at work and the ffb was just making it worse and worse. I have a pretty good brace for it now so I should be good.

Sorry to hear that Zii, hope it gets better..👍

You know what would make you feel better old teammate? Some pain killers mixed with whatever else you fancy then join us this evening in Parcells production lobby, I think we have some good cars lined up tonight?

No reason to practice and if you screw up you’re bound to have company. Its settled then, see you later :mischievous:

These are all from Race 1:

Vovik05 leads the field into Turn 1 for the first time

Clutch_800 and serge_1919 wheel to wheel
02Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(1).jpg

Brntguy, flip_jj, aeroliteflight, wardenclyffe also running tight
03Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(2).jpg

Zii1993 catches aeroflightlite with his guard down
04Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(3).jpg

Until aerolightflight returns the favour
05Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(4).jpg

capecod104 has a moment in front of kgffty
06Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(5).jpg

Super wide berth while trying a pass? Must be a rookie on his first night in the league... (me, in this case). Surprisingly, the move worked for a whole straight, until the next corner, when NORML_N took the position back
07Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(6).jpg

Meanwhile, one mile ahead, the leader is getting away
08Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(7).jpg

Meanwhile, 10 seconds later, this group arrives at the same corner (NORML_N, flip_jj, Zii1993, aeroliteflight and capecod104).
09Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(8).jpg

Capecod104 and Zii1993 share the esses
10Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(9).jpg

Having exchanged sides, capecod104 and Zii1993 harass aeroliteflight
11Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(10).jpg

Aeroliteflight takes advantage of my mistake going into the straight, slipstreams and takes the position coming down the hill
12Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(11).jpg

And aeroliteflight now trying to get by NORML_N
13Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(12).jpg

But capecod104 takes advantage of their battle and gains 2 positions, as Zii1993 trails aeroliteflight
14Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(13).jpg

DesertPenguin09 leads kgffty into the main straight as euclid58 tries to chase them down
15Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(14).jpg

Well, something isn't right...
Nothing aeroliteflight can do about this one.
16Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(15).jpg

Down the straight they came! (aeroliteflight, NORML_N, McTrucker000)
17Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(16).jpg

Zii1993 chills out while the leader zooms by.
18Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(17).jpg

And that's what it's all about, Vovik05 takes the flag!
19Twin Ring Motegi Road Course(18).jpg

Just so everyone knows, in R2 i did a full 360 spin and barely lost momentum. Feels like Nigel Mansell for a second

Well done @FlipJ, thanks for the chuckles. I wasn't going to say anything about @Wardenclyffe parking his car sideways on the track while going for a pee break, but.......

You know how it is, when you find a good parking spot, you gotta move on it fast.

Close, but not quite (it was a grumpy).

ETA: on the real tip, did I end up ghosting there? I don't recall collecting you (aero) last night though I do remember far too much time spent perpendicular to the racing line in race 1. However, my race 1 unpleasant memories may have simply been purged by my subconscious . . .

On the replay, you do ghost in front of aero. It didn't seem like he lost any significant time, but the replays are always a bit patchy when watching from other cars' perspective, so I don't know for sure.

I am going to open up a room and do some practice in ten minutes if anyone wants to join in.

Random question: How come we didn't do two different times at Twin Ring? And will we do that at Mid-Field?

No particular reason just turned out that way and both day races at Midfield too.

Woohoo! I FINALLY got a GTP account to work on my ghetto phone.
